  • Refined kinetic analyses of micropollutant degradation by UV-AOPs incorporating dynamic oxidant decay. [Journal Article]
    J Hazard Mater. 2026 Jun 15; 511:142263.Huang Y, Li M, … Qiang ZJH
  • Experimental data regression and model analyses of micropollutant (MP) degradation kinetics in ultraviolet-based advanced oxidation processes (UV-AOPs) typically assume a constant fluence-based pseudo-first-order rate constant (k'). However, oxidant decay continuously disrupts steady-state concentrations of reactive radicals and repeatedly establishes new equilibria, making k' vary over time-an e…
  • Comparative Efficacy of Acupuncture Therapy in Primary Essential Tremor: A Network Meta-Analysis and Systematic Review. [Review]
    Healthcare (Basel). 2026 Mar 21; 14(6).Shi Q, Han J, … Shen MH
  • CONCLUSIONS: This network meta-analysis demonstrates that acupuncture-related interventions are effective and safe for treating essential tremor. However, caution is warranted in interpreting these findings due to methodological limitations in the included randomized controlled trials (small sample sizes, lack of blinding, inadequate allocation concealment), sparse data for some interventions, and the concentration of studies within China, which limits their generalizability. Despite these limitations, acupuncture offers a valuable non-pharmacological treatment option for patients with poor medication tolerance. Future large-scale, multicenter trials with rigorous designs are needed to validate these findings.
  • A Systematic Review of Clinically Significant Drug-Drug Interactions With Phenobarbital and Primidone. [Systematic Review]
Pharmacotherapy. 2026 Apr; 46(4):e70133.Ghattas K, Liu JT, … Wong AP
  • Phenobarbital (PB) is historically used for management of seizure disorders but more recently has emerged as a prominent option for the management of alcohol withdrawal syndrome given data suggesting its benefit over benzodiazepines. An important consideration of PB therapy is its induction of cytochrome-P 450 enzymes (CYP450), which may lead to underrecognized drug-drug interactions (DDIs). Know…
  • Update on Medical Treatments for Essential Tremor: An International Parkinson and Movement Disorder Society Evidence-Based Medicine Review. [Systematic Review]
    Mov Disord. 2026 Apr; 41(4):815-825.Dash D, Bruno V, … Mestre TAMD
  • CONCLUSIONS: Current evidence from RCTs with at least 1 month of follow-up is insufficient to confidently support the efficacy of available medical treatments for ET. There is a need for longer, higher-quality clinical trials to improve treatment recommendations and guide decision-making for clinicians and patients with ET. © 2026 The Author(s). • Psychiatric and behavioural side effects of antiseizure medications in epilepsy. [Review]
    J Neurol. 2025 Dec 23; 273(1):45.Lyndon S, Dworetzky BA, Baslet GJN
  • CONCLUSIONS: PBSEs can often be anticipated, mitigated, and frequently reversed. A risk-stratified prescribing strategy-monotherapy first, enzyme-neutral or mood-friendly medications for vulnerable patients, folate supplementation for inducers, and early switch from offending agents-can safeguard mental health without compromising seizure control.
  • GeneReviews®: KCNC1-Related Disorders [BOOK]
GeneReviews®. University of Washington, Seattle: Seattle (WA).Adam MP, Bick S, … Amemiya AGinn N, Goldberg EMBOOK
  • KCNC1-related disorders encompass a spectrum of neurologic phenotypes that generally include one or more of the following features: developmental delay (DD) / intellectual disability (ID), myoclonus (progressive or nonprogressive), ataxia, and epilepsy. Affected individuals with loss-of-function pathogenic variants with a presumptive dominant-negative action may have myoclonic epilepsy and ataxia…
  • Structural basis for agonist and heat activation of nociceptor TRPM3. [Journal Article]
Nat Struct Mol Biol. 2026 Jan; 33(1):34-42.Kumar S, Jin F, … Du JNS
  • Detecting noxious heat is vital for survival, triggering protective pain responses. The TRPM3 channel is a key nociceptor and a promising therapeutic target for pain and neurological disorders. Here we show that the rabbit TRPM3 is intrinsically dynamic, with its intracellular domain (ICD) sampling both resting and activated states, but favoring the resting state in the absence of stimulation. We…
  • A case of neonatal essential tongue tremor diagnosed due to poor feeding. [Case Reports]
SAGE Open Med Case Rep. 2025; 13:2050313X251380136.Sasai M, Kuge S, … Sugimoto KSO
  • We encountered a case of a neonate diagnosed with essential tongue tremor due to involuntary movements of the tongue and poor oral feeding immediately after birth. Reports of pediatric-onset essential tongue tremor, particularly neonatal-onset, are extremely rare. Neonatal-onset essential tongue tremor can result in feeding difficulties and poor weight gain, potentially affecting subsequent growt…
