- Inflammatory back pain-like symptoms and MRI mimics of sacroiliitis in patients with anatomical variants of the sacroiliac joint: a cross-sectional study. [Journal Article]Rheumatol Int. 2026 May 08; 46(6).RI
- Sacroiliac joint (SIJ) anatomical variants are common on MRI and may complicate interpretation by mimicking inflammatory sacroiliitis; however, their relationship with inflammatory back pain (IBP)-like symptom patterns is not well defined in patients without axial spondyloarthritis (axSpA). To characterize inflammatory back pain (IBP)-like symptom patterns and accompanying MRI findings that may m…

- Golimumab for the Treatment of Rheumatoid Arthritis: A Narrative Review of Pivotal Randomized Trials and Real-World Studies. [Review]
- Rheumatoid arthritis (RA) is a chronic, inflammatory autoimmune disease characterized by progressive joint involvement. The disease is associated with reduced health-related quality of life, functional ability, work productivity, and daily activity, in addition to pain, fatigue, and inflammation-induced structural damage. RA emerges through a complex interplay of multiple factors, including the r…

- Genicular Artery Percutaneous Radiofrequency Thermocoagulation: A Technical Note. [Case Reports]Pain Med Case Rep. 2026 Apr; 10(2):91-94.PM
- CONCLUSIONS: This case highlights the successful and safe application of minimally invasive RFTC targeting the SGMA/SGLA in a patient with knee OA.
- Exploring immune modulation in osteoarthritis: identifying key biomarkers and the role of PTPRC in regulating immune microenvironment for therapeutic intervention. [Journal Article]Front Immunol. 2026; 17:1795075.FI
- CONCLUSIONS: This study identified three promising biomarkers in OA and certificated that PTPRC plays a pivotal role in alleviating OA progression through immunomodulation, offering a novel intervention pathway for tissue engineering combined with immunomodulatory therapy in OA.

- Rheumatological Manifestations of Systemic Amyloidosis: A Retrospective Single-Centre Study From a Tertiary Care Hospital in India. [Journal Article]Cureus. 2026 Mar; 18(3):e105451.C
- CONCLUSIONS: Systemic amyloidosis must remain a key differential diagnosis for any patient presenting with atypical inflammatory arthritis accompanied by early morning stiffness, especially when features such as soft tissue expansion or cutaneous bleeding are present. A high index of clinical suspicion is essential, particularly when joint symptoms are accompanied by specific red-flag signs such as macroglossia, carpal tunnel syndrome, or periorbital purpura. Cardiac involvement portends poor prognosis, particularly in the AL type.

- Total Hip Arthroplasty for Untreated Acetabular Fractures: A Case Series. [Journal Article]Case Rep Orthop. 2026; 2026:2582466.CR
- CONCLUSIONS: Untreated acetabular fractures managed with total hip arthroplasty prevent post-traumatic arthritis and osteonecrosis of the hip. Segmental acetabular defects and chronic hip dislocations present in these cases can be managed with acetabular augments and dual mobility cups. When these injuries present in the young, femoral short stems can be used to preserve the femoral neck and maximize the proximal metaphyseal bone stock.

- CONCLUSIONS: EA at "Yanglingquan" (GB34) and "Dubi" (ST35) can attenuate pain and anxiety-like behaviors in the KOA rats with chronic pain and related negative emotions, and its underlying mechanism may be related to inhibiting microglia activity and promoting the polarization of activated microglia towards M2 phenotype in ACC.

- Limb salvage using free tissue transfer in patients with rare autoinflammatory syndromes is poorly described, and the safety of microvascular reconstruction in this population remains uncertain. Hereditary pyogenic arthritis, pyoderma gangrenosum, and acne (PAPA) syndrome is characterized by dysregulated inflammation, pathergy, and impaired wound healing, raising concern for flap compromise and p…

- Curcuminoids Phospholipid Attenuates Osteoarthritis and Protects Cartilage in a Monosodium Iodoacetate-Induced Rat Model. [Journal Article]Nutrients. 2026 Mar 30; 18(7).N
- Background/Objectives: Osteoarthritis is a chronic joint disorder involving the progressive breakdown of articular cartilage, which leads to joint pain and impaired mobility. The present study investigated the effects of curcuminoids phospholipid (CP) on osteoarthritis progression, assessed its cartilage-protective effects, and elucidated the underlying mechanisms. Methods: Male Sprague-Dawley ra…

- Osteoarthritis (OA) is a chronic, progressive joint disease characterized by degenerative changes in articular cartilage, subchondral bone sclerosis, accompanied by synovitis and chondrocyte apoptosis. With the aging of society, it has become one of the major factors endangering the mobility of middle-aged and elderly people worldwide. The pathogenesis of OA remains unclear, and current treatment…

- Background and objective Reactive arthritis (ReA), formerly termed Reiter's syndrome, is an autoimmune inflammatory arthritis that develops in response to a gastrointestinal or genitourinary infection. Although nearly two-thirds of patients have a self-limited course, the remaining patients go on to develop chronic symptoms and complications. In the absence of a curative treatment, the treatment …

- CONCLUSIONS: This SLR offers new evidence to support region-specific clinical practice in JIA. While many findings support global recommendations, important evidence gaps remain, particularly in tapering, biosimilar use, TMJ management, and non-pharmacological therapies. These insights will directly inform APLAR's upcoming clinical practice guideline for pcJIA and TMJ arthritis.

- Why Do Robotic Total Knee Arthroplasties Fail? [Journal Article]J Arthroplasty. 2026 Mar 31. [Online ahead of print]JA
- CONCLUSIONS: Failures can still occur following robotic TKA. Stiffness requiring manipulation was the most common complication. Traditional early failures such as instability and aseptic loosening were infrequent. Comparative clinical trials with defined targets are necessary to confirm these observations and determine the advantages and disadvantages of robotic TKA systems.

- Gout is among the most prevalent etiologies of chronic inflammatory arthritis in the United States, which is characterized by monosodium urate (MSU) monohydrate crystals deposition in the tissues.[1][2] Gout was first recognized even before the common era. Hence it is arguably the most understood and manageable disease among all rheumatic diseases.[3][4]
