- Cell-Type-Resolved Proteomics Reveals Distinct Immune and Metabolic Programs Between Primary and Recurrent Ascites in HGSOC. [Journal Article]Proteomics Clin Appl. 2026 Sep; 20(5):e70053.PC
- High-grade serous ovarian carcinoma (HGSOC) frequently recurs after platinum-taxane therapy, yet recurrence-associated changes within ascites remain unclear. We performed cell-type-resolved quantitative proteomics on paired ascites samples collected at primary diagnosis and at disease recurrence from three HGSOC patients, profiling unsorted cells alongside matched CD45[-] tumor-enriched and CD45[…

- Endometriosis presenting as recurrent massive haemorrhagic ascites. [Case Reports]BMJ Case Rep. 2026 Aug 13; 19(8).BC
- Haemorrhagic ascites (HA) is an uncommon clinical entity commonly caused by cirrhosis, malignancy and iatrogenic intervention. In the absence of these causes, it poses a diagnostic challenge. We present a case of a female with recurrent massive HA with a negative extensive work-up of common causes of HA. Laparoscopically obtained tissue eventually confirmed the diagnosis of endometriosis. This ca…

- Gastrointestinal adverse events related to monoclonal antibodies: A comprehensive evaluation of data from the FDA Adverse Event Reporting System database. [Journal Article]Indian J Pharmacol. 2026 Jul 01; 58(4):375-386.IJ
- CONCLUSIONS: This study highlights the strong correlation between mAbs and GI disorders, especially for mAbs such as atezolizumab, rituximab, and bevacizumab. The results emphasise the necessity of increased pharmacovigilance to keep an eye on these AEs and enhance patient safety. Improving patient safety during mAb therapy requires constant safety surveillance and additional research. Further investigation into the mechanisms underlying these relationships could lead to more effective management options for patients undergoing mAb therapy.

- Podoplanin-positive extracellular vesicles in ovarian cancer: linking thrombosis, platelet crosstalk, and cancer stemness - a narrative review. [Journal Article]Ann Med Surg (Lond). 2026 Aug; 88(8):5204-5215.AM
- Ovarian cancer remains a leading cause of gynecologic cancer death worldwide, largely due to late diagnosis, frequent recurrence, and metastatic tendencies. Thrombosis is a common and life-threatening complication in these patients, contributing to poor prognosis and therapy resistance. Emerging evidence highlights a mechanistic link between tumor-derived extracellular vesicles and thrombotic eve…

- Liver transplantation for decompensated cirrhosis of uncertain etiology in a woman with long-standing untreated panhypopituitarism: a case report. [Case Reports]Front Endocrinol (Lausanne). 2026; 17:1899455.FE
- CONCLUSIONS: Long-standing untreated panhypopituitarism may have contributed to metabolic and fibrogenic risk in this patient, but incomplete etiological evaluation precluded a definitive causal link. Lifelong endocrine follow-up and attention to liver health are warranted after pituitary surgery.

- Association of the Model for End-Stage Liver Disease (MELD) Score With Spontaneous Bacterial Peritonitis in Patients With Liver Cirrhosis. [Journal Article]Cureus. 2026 Jul; 18(7):e112217.C
- CONCLUSIONS: A high MELD score is significantly associated with the development of SBP in patients with liver cirrhosis. It serves as a reliable bedside clinical marker for identifying patients at higher risk of this severe complication.

- [The Laterality of Endometriosis]. [Review]Harefuah. 2026 Jul; 165(7):464-468.H
- Endometriosis, affecting 10-15% of women of reproductive age, is more commonly found on the left side of the pelvis. This laterality phenomenon's etiology remains obscure. We reviewed the existing literature and proposed four different theories explaining the left laterality of endometriosis. The anatomical theory is based on the structural asymmetry of the pelvis. Organs surrounding the left adn…
- Meckel's diverticulum band adhesion causing internal hernia, small bowel obstruction complicated by peritonitis and massive ascites: a rare pediatric case. [Journal Article]Front Pediatr. 2026; 14:1834207.FP
- Meckel's diverticulum (MD) is one of the most common congenital anomalies of the gastrointestinal tract in children, although it may occasionally be detected in adults. It is typically located within 100 cm of the ileocecal valve in the distal ileum. The diverticulum varies in size and morphology; many patients remain asymptomatic throughout life. In children, the most common clinical presentatio…

- Role of Palliative Cytoreductive Surgery for Patients with Incompletely Resectable Peritoneal Carcinomatosis from Lower Gastrointestinal Cancers. [Journal Article]
- CONCLUSIONS: Palliative CRS for incompletely resectable carcinomatosis is associated with prolonged OFS and AFS for patients with low-grade histology. Palliative surgical intervention should be considered in carefully selected patients.

- When It's Not Just "That Time of the Month": Identifying Thoracic Endometriosis in the Context of Recurrent Pleural Effusion. [Case Reports]J Assoc Physicians India. 2026 Jun; 74(6S):17-19.JA
- Recurrent hemorrhagic pleural effusion presents as a challenge for both the clinician and the patient, with common causes being tuberculosis, malignancy, and collagen vascular diseases. Among uncommon causes of recurrent hemorrhagic effusion is catamenial hemothorax, which is a part of thoracic endometriosis syndrome (TES). Endometriosis is the extrauterine growth of endometrial glands and stroma…

- Comparison of Factors Associated With 30-Day and 90-Day Readmission Among a Global Cohort of Patients Hospitalised With Cirrhosis. [Multicenter Study]
- CONCLUSIONS: In a global cohort of hospitalised patients with cirrhosis, patients in high-income countries exhibited the highest rates of 30- and 90-day readmission, alongside lower mortality rates and a higher incidence of LT. Variables that predict 30-day readmission also predicted 90-day readmission. Understanding these disparities is essential for achieving health equity.

- Fetal bladder rupture in posterior urethral valves: a clinically relevant complication or a protective pop-off mechanism. [Systematic Review]
- Posterior urethral valves (PUV) are the most common cause of congenital bladder outlet obstruction in male infants and may result in kidney damage and chronic kidney disease. In severe cases, spontaneous fetal bladder rupture with urinary ascites may occur. This study presents a rare case of fetal bladder rupture secondary to PUV requiring complex bladder reconstruction and systematically reviews…
