- Vonoprazan-amoxicillin dual therapy improves 14-day eradication and reduces adverse events in patients with Helicobacter pylori infection: an updated landmark systematic review and meta-analysis of 11 randomized trials with subgroup analysis. [Journal Article]Ann Gastroenterol. 2026; 39(3):294-302.AG
- CONCLUSIONS: VDT is as effective as standard therapies overall, but shows clear superiority in 14-day regimens, with no advantage in 7-day durations. The observed heterogeneity was probably due to differences in treatment duration and regional variability in resistance.

- Comparison between orthopedic and surgical treatment of mandibular condylar fractures. An epidemiological and treatment outcomes research of the Maxillofacial Center in Cluj-Napoca, Romania. [Journal Article]Med Pharm Rep. 2026 Apr; 99(2):149-155.MP
- CONCLUSIONS: The condylar fractures with no displacement or changes in the functionality of the mandible can be successfully treated by orthopedic reduction and intermaxillary fixation. The results of this study may help in choosing the optimal treatment based on the characteristics of the clinical cases.

- In this study, magnetic iron oxide (Fe2O4) nanoparticles with an inverse spinel structure were synthesized via the co-precipitation method under both thermal and hydrothermal conditions using Fe (II) and Fe (III) chlorides as precursors. The effects of parameters such as temperature and solvent type were investigated. Sodium hydroxide, were used as alkaline agents to adjust the pH during synthesi…

- Visual-acoustic thigmotaxis in zebrafish larvae: a high throughput NAM for neurotoxicity assessment. [Journal Article]Front Toxicol. 2026; 8:1753174.FT
- Current regulatory neurotoxicity guidelines do not include behavioral endpoints that capture stress-related responses. Zebrafish larvae prior to independent feeding offer a promising vertebrate model for developing new approach methodologies (NAMs) because they combine neurobiological relevance with high-throughput potential. In this study, we developed and evaluated a larval thigmotaxis assay to…

- Biologics and Drug-Induced Immunogenicity: A Case Report of Acquired Hemophilia A Presenting After Immunotherapy. [Journal Article]Clin Case Rep. 2026 May; 14:e72727.CC
- Acquired hemophilia A is a rare, potentially life-threatening bleeding disorder caused by autoantibody inhibitors to coagulation factor VIII. We report the case of an 87-year-old female who presented with symptomatic bleeding and was subsequently diagnosed with acquired hemophilia A. Her clinical course, treatment, and recovery are described. Notably, her recent medication history included ixekiz…

- Non-operative treatment strategy versus surgery for children with simple appendicitis: non-inferiority randomised controlled trial. [Journal Article]BMJ Med. 2026; 5(1):e002466.BM
- CONCLUSIONS: Non-inferiority of a non-operative treatment strategy for acute simple appendicitis in children could not be proven significantly. Most of the 95% CI was within the 5% non-inferiority margin, however, with a probability of 90.7% that a non-operative treatment strategy resulted in an increase in complications of ≤5%. Absolute risk difference in the proportion of participants with complications was marginal. Surgery was avoided in about 70% of participants in the non-operative treatment strategy group. Health related quality of life was comparable between the treatment strategies. A non-operative treatment strategy was associated with lower costs, but longer time in hospital, more unscheduled healthcare visits, and lower patient satisfaction at the one year follow-up, measured by the Net Promoter Score.

- Synergistic antimicrobial and antibiofilm effects of mycosynthesized MnO-MgO bimetallic nanoparticles against drug-resistant pathogens. [Journal Article]BMC Microbiol. 2026 May 20. [Online ahead of print]BM
- Multidrug-resistant bacterial diseases pose an increasing hazard to worldwide public health. These bacteria reduce the effectiveness of traditional medicines, resulting in recurring infections, longer hospital stays, higher medical expenses, and higher death rates. Nanomedicine integrates nanotechnology with disease management and represents a promising direction in modern healthcare. In this stu…

- Modelling impacts of paediatric amoxicillin shortage management on pneumococcal resistance and invasive disease in Europe. [Journal Article]Nat Commun. 2026 May 19. [Online ahead of print]NC
- Antibiotic shortages are increasing worldwide. Their impact on individual health and bacterial ecology is unknown, but it could be significant, and there is a lack of epidemiological evidence. Here, we assess the impact of beta-lactam shortage management on pneumococcal resistance and the incidence of invasive pneumococcal disease (IPD). We developed a mechanistic model of S. pneumoniae paediatri…

- Assessment of the Biological Effect of Oral Ginkgolic Acid Liposome Nanoparticles for Treating Refractory Helicobacter pylori Infection. [Journal Article]Clin Exp Gastroenterol. 2026; 19:590424.CE
- CONCLUSIONS: TLM@GA had excellent stability, efficient release, and good loading capacity efficiency. It was significantly superior to GA in terms of in vitro antibacterial activity, had low toxicity, was not prone to drug resistance, and demonstrated high safety. TLM@GA demonstrated a good antibacterial effect in the in vivo acidic environment, effectively slowing the apoptosis of gastric mucosal cells and significantly reducing levels of inflammatory factors, alleviating the inflammatory response.

- Raw milk as a reservoir of multidrug resistant bacteria in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. [Journal Article]BMC Microbiol. 2026 May 18. [Online ahead of print]BM
- CONCLUSIONS: Raw milk in KP harbors pathogens with multidrug resistance exceeding previous regional estimates by 2-3 fold, including resistance to last-resort antibiotics such as vancomycin. These findings emphasize the urgent need for enhanced veterinary antibiotic stewardship, targeted surveillance of resistance hotspots, improved dairy hygiene practices, and community education regarding raw milk consumption. Integrated One Health strategies are critical to mitigate the amplification and spread of AMR in dairy production systems.
