- A Modern-Day Captain Charles Martell: Catastrophic Skeletal Manifestations of Primary Hyperparathyroidism. [Journal Article]Case Rep Endocrinol. 2026; 2026:1352595.CR
- Primary hyperparathyroidism (PHPT) is characterised by autonomous overproduction of parathyroid hormone (PTH), resulting in hypercalcemia and multisystem complications. Although routine calcium screening has reduced advanced skeletal disease in many regions, severe manifestations such as osteitis fibrosa cystica (OFC) still occur in resource-limited settings. We report a case of a woman in her 30…

- Ablation, Osteoplasty, Reinforcement, and Internal Fixation Allows for Subsequent Hip Arthroplasty Reconstruction. [Case Reports]JBJS Case Connect. 2026 Apr 01; 16(2).JC
- CONCLUSIONS: AORIF provided rapid pain relief and increased mechanical resistance, allowing a successful secondary arthroplasty with standard implants, demonstrating its value as a minimally invasive option in periacetabular metastatic bone disease.

- Spontaneous L4/L5 Dislocation Associated With Diffuse Idiopathic Skeletal Hyperostosis in a Young Patient With Severe Obesity: A Case Report. [Case Reports]Cureus. 2026 Mar; 18(3):e105428.C
- Diffuse idiopathic skeletal hyperostosis (DISH) is characterized by extensive ossification of the spinal ligaments and entheses, resulting in a rigid spine that behaves biomechanically like a long bone. Although spinal fractures and dislocations after minor trauma are well recognized in ankylosed spines, non-traumatic spontaneous instability is rare. We report a rare case of spontaneous L4/L5 dis…

- [Spontaneous facet joint fusion and stability assessment following isolated posterior internal fixation for lumbar burst fractures]. [Journal Article]Zhongguo Xiu Fu Chong Jian Wai Ke Za Zhi. 2026 Apr 15; 40(4):630-636.ZX
- CONCLUSIONS: The incidence of SFJF following posterior internal fixation for lumbar burst fractures is high, with most fusion processes occurring within the first 6 months after operation. Segmental motion function decreases significantly with increasing fusion grade. Incorporating SFJF assessment into the decision-making process for implant removal in these patients is recommended.

- Uncoupling of the Helical Blade in a Proximal Femoral Nail - A Novel Mechanical Failure. [Case Reports]J Orthop Case Rep. 2026 Apr; 16(4):204-209.JO
- CONCLUSIONS: Helical blade uncoupling is an exceptionally rare PFNA failure mode. In elderly, low-demand patients with stable alignment and minimal symptoms, conservative treatment after such mechanical failure can provide satisfactory outcomes without revision surgery.

- Twenty-year Delayed Failure of an Intramedullary Humeral Nail Due to Shaft Non-union and its Surgical Management: A Case Report. [Case Reports]J Orthop Case Rep. 2026 Apr; 16(4):70-74.JO
- CONCLUSIONS: This case highlights the importance of addressing both mechanical stability and the biological environment in the management of chronic humeral shaft non-union and supports single-stage nail removal followed by compression plating with autologous bone grafting as a reliable treatment strategy for rare late implant failures.

- Multiple Vertebral Fractures After One Dose of Denosumab. [Case Reports]AACE Endocrinol Diabetes. 2026; 13(2):360-364.AE
- CONCLUSIONS: Longer duration of denosumab therapy is a known risk factor for rebound fractures, but to our knowledge, this phenomenon has not been reported after a single dose. This case illustrates the importance of planning follow up therapy for patients who discontinue this medication, even after one injection.

- 3D-Planned, Patient-Specific Distal Radius Reconstruction with a Vascularized Double-Barrel Free Fibular Graft After Secondary Aneurysmal Bone Cyst. [Case Reports]J Clin Med. 2026 Feb 28; 15(5).JC
- Background/Objectives: An Aneurysmal Bone Cyst (ABC) is a rare benign osteolytic bone lesion with locally destroying growth. It occurs mostly in the first two decades of life, rarely in older patients, and commonly affects the metaphysis. Clinical presentation includes pain and pathologic fractures. While most ABCs occur as primary lesions, there is an entity of secondary (reactive) ABC following…

- Avascular Necrosis of the Talar Body Presenting with a Vertical Fracture and Dome Collapse in a Low-Risk Patient: A Case Report. [Case Reports]J Orthop Case Rep. 2026 Mar; 16(3):209-213.JO
- CONCLUSIONS: This case highlights the aggressive course that talar AVN can take even in individuals with little to no risk factors. Early use of advanced imaging should be considered in patients with persistent ankle pain when initial radiographs are inconclusive, as delayed diagnosis may lead to structural collapse and reduced treatment options. This report adds to the understanding of atypical presentations of talar vascular insufficiency and underscores the importance of timely recognition, multidisciplinary decision-making, and addressing systemic barriers that may delay definitive care.

- [Misdiagnosis and mismanagement of pathological fractures in spinal tuberculosis:causes and management strategies]. [Journal Article]Zhongguo Gu Shang. 2026 Feb 25; 39(2):148-53.ZG
- CONCLUSIONS: Vertebral wedge deformation is not an exclusive indicator of primary osteoporotic fractures. Clinical details should be thoroughly analyzed, and attention should be paid to the imaging changes of the soft tissues around the vertebral body and inflammatory changes. Before vertebral augmentation, routine ESR,CRP tests, and enzyme-linked immunospot assays (T-SPOT.TB) are recommended. For spinal tuberculosis cases that have already undergone vertebral augmentation, individualized surgical treatment plans should be adopted.

- Spontaneous reduction of type I traumatic manubriosternal joint dislocation: A case report. [Case Reports]J Int Med Res. 2026 Mar; 54(3):3000605261429291.JI
- We report the case of a 68-year-old male who sustained blunt chest trauma in a motor vehicle accident and presented with severe chest pain, dyspnea, pneumothorax, and multiple rib fractures. Imaging revealed a complete type I manubriosternal joint dislocation with an associated retrosternal hematoma. Urgent surgical intervention was planned; however, it was delayed for several hours because of in…

- Percutaneous Radiofrequency Ablation Combined With Balloon Kyphoplasty for Painful Vertebral Metastasis and Acute Pathologic Compression Fracture: A Case Report. [Case Reports]Cureus. 2026 Jan; 18(1):e102717.C
- Painful vertebral bone metastases may result in pathologic compression fractures, severe mechanical back pain, and functional impairment. Conventional external beam radiotherapy is commonly used for palliation but is limited by delayed analgesic effects and the inability to address spinal instability. Minimally invasive image-guided techniques, such as percutaneous radiofrequency ablation (RFA) c…
