  • Multiple Vertebral Fractures After One Dose of Denosumab. [Case Reports]
AACE Endocrinol Diabetes. 2026; 13(2):360-364.Ryan JL, Eldeiry LSAE
  • CONCLUSIONS: Longer duration of denosumab therapy is a known risk factor for rebound fractures, but to our knowledge, this phenomenon has not been reported after a single dose. This case illustrates the importance of planning follow up therapy for patients who discontinue this medication, even after one injection.
  • Avascular Necrosis of the Talar Body Presenting with a Vertical Fracture and Dome Collapse in a Low-Risk Patient: A Case Report. [Case Reports]
J Orthop Case Rep. 2026 Mar; 16(3):209-213.Chowdhury EA, Wehbe J, … Kumar VJO
  • CONCLUSIONS: This case highlights the aggressive course that talar AVN can take even in individuals with little to no risk factors. Early use of advanced imaging should be considered in patients with persistent ankle pain when initial radiographs are inconclusive, as delayed diagnosis may lead to structural collapse and reduced treatment options. This report adds to the understanding of atypical presentations of talar vascular insufficiency and underscores the importance of timely recognition, multidisciplinary decision-making, and addressing systemic barriers that may delay definitive care.
  • [Misdiagnosis and mismanagement of pathological fractures in spinal tuberculosis:causes and management strategies]. [Journal Article]
    Zhongguo Gu Shang. 2026 Feb 25; 39(2):148-53.Yao H, Li D, Chen HZG
  • CONCLUSIONS: Vertebral wedge deformation is not an exclusive indicator of primary osteoporotic fractures. Clinical details should be thoroughly analyzed, and attention should be paid to the imaging changes of the soft tissues around the vertebral body and inflammatory changes. Before vertebral augmentation, routine ESR,CRP tests, and enzyme-linked immunospot assays (T-SPOT.TB) are recommended. For spinal tuberculosis cases that have already undergone vertebral augmentation, individualized surgical treatment plans should be adopted.
  • Spontaneous reduction of type I traumatic manubriosternal joint dislocation: A case report. [Case Reports]
J Int Med Res. 2026 Mar; 54(3):3000605261429291.Choi JU, Choi JH, Seok JJI
  • We report the case of a 68-year-old male who sustained blunt chest trauma in a motor vehicle accident and presented with severe chest pain, dyspnea, pneumothorax, and multiple rib fractures. Imaging revealed a complete type I manubriosternal joint dislocation with an associated retrosternal hematoma. Urgent surgical intervention was planned; however, it was delayed for several hours because of in…
  • Preoperative radiotherapy for appendicular bone metastases: outcomes. [Journal Article]
BMJ Support Palliat Care. 2026 Mar 02. [Online ahead of print]Pearce JB, Pandey P, … Grosshans DBS
  • CONCLUSIONS: Patients treated with preoperative RT do well with minimal operative complications and improvement in reported pain. A randomised clinical trial is warranted to compare outcomes for preoperative and postoperative RT for palliation of bone metastasis requiring orthopaedic intervention.
