- Great Saphenous Vein Availability in Lower‑Extremity Arterial Disease: Analysis of a Prospectively Mapped Nonselective Cohort. [Journal Article]Vasc Specialist Int. 2026 May 20; 42:20.VS
- CONCLUSIONS: In this consecutive real-world cohort, ideal single-segment GSV availability (≥3.0 mm) was low and was further limited by older age and female sex. These findings highlight an important limitation of a vein-first strategy in routine practice and support standardized bilateral mapping to clarify conduit availability and guide individualized revascularization planning.

- Performance of exercise transcutaneous oximetry versus imaging at the buttock, thigh and calf level for the diagnosis of peripheral artery disease. [Journal Article]Clin Physiol Funct Imaging. 2026 May; 46(3):e70068.CP
- CONCLUSIONS: This study showed that Ex-TcPO2 has a fair to excellent accuracy for detecting the presence of at least one artery stenosis ≥70% in the lower limb according to buttock, thigh and calf area in highly selected patients. This study also highlights the importance of using the minimal value of DROPmin rather than the DROPend.

- Body Awareness Therapy in Peripheral Arterial Disease: A Randomized Controlled Trial. [Journal Article]Pain Manag Nurs. 2026 May 17. [Online ahead of print]PM
- CONCLUSIONS: Integrating BAT into a standard exercise and lifestyle program resulted in improvements in mobility, muscle strength, and self-efficacy, while pain intensity and broader psychosocial symptoms improved similarly in both groups. BAT represents a feasible adjunct that enhances functional rehabilitation without increasing exercise volume.

- Regression of Lumbar Ossification of the Ligamentum Flavum after Indirect Decompression via Full-endoscopic Trans-Kambin's Triangle Lumbar Interbody Fusion: A 3-year Case Report. [Case Reports]NMC Case Rep J. 2026; 13:135-140.NC
- Ossification of the ligamentum flavum is a pathological condition that can cause progressive myelopathy or severe radiculopathy. Standard surgical management involves direct decompression via posterior resection of the ossification. However, there is a substantial risk of complications, including dural tears and iatrogenic instability. We report a rare case of lumbar ossification of the ligamentu…

- An Abnormal Presentation of a Popliteal Artery Mass and a Unique Cause of Claudication. [Journal Article]Case Rep Orthop. 2026; 2026:9960715.CR
- Multiple hereditary exostosis (MHE) is a rare autosomal-dominant disorder marked by multiple osteochondromas arising from the metaphyses of long bones. Parameniscal cysts, often linked to meniscal tears, can also expand and compress nearby vessels, posing a potential vascular risk. We present a 28-year-old male with MHE and a parameniscal cyst causing popliteal artery compression. The patient's i…

- Underuse of Preoperative Testing Before Index Peripheral Vascular Interventions for Claudication in the Outpatient Setting. [Journal Article]Ann Vasc Surg. 2026 Mar 30; 129:71-84. [Online ahead of print]AV
- CONCLUSIONS: Compliance with society guidelines for preoperative testing prior to outpatient PVI for claudication varies substantially by patient and physician characteristics. Cross-specialty adherence will help ensure patients with claudication receive consistent, evidence-based, high-value care.

- Changes in Systemic Inflammatory Marker Levels Following Percutaneous Revascularisation of Lower Extremity Arteries. [Journal Article]Int J Mol Sci. 2026 Mar 05; 27(5).IJ
- Peripheral arterial disease (PAD) is a manifestation of systemic atherosclerosis in which inflammation plays a central pathogenic role. Endovascular revascularisation may transiently amplify inflammation due to vascular injury, but successful restoration of perfusion could reduce inflammatory burden over time. This prospective, observational, single-centre pilot study aimed to characterise the te…

- Smoking cessation after lower extremity revascularization in the Vascular Quality Initiative. [Journal Article]J Vasc Surg. 2026 Mar 11. [Online ahead of print]JV
- CONCLUSIONS: Even though the proportion of smokers undergoing LER is decreasing, achieving smoking cessation has become more challenging. Smoking cessation efforts should particularly focus on younger patients undergoing elective endovascular LER for claudication.

- Diabetic foot ulcer: a systematic review of risk factors. [Systematic Review]J Wound Care. 2026 Mar 02; 35(3):246-259.JW
- CONCLUSIONS: The development of DFUs may be associated with various factors, including: a history of previous DFUs; amputation or clinical atherosclerosis syndrome, such as peripheral arterial and cerebrovascular disease; the severity of diabetes; and various clinical signs regarding the patient's foot. The low certainty of evidence for most of these factors indicates that there is still a gap in knowledge regarding the early detection of foot ulcers in people with diabetes. A large prospective study could identify more precisely which factors are the most significant. Contemporary technology could use such data to create devices that would be able to predict DFUs so they can be prevented or treated earlier, which would reduce the possibility of lower limb amputation.

- Growing evidence has supported the potential method of umbilical cord mesenchymal stem cell (UCMSC) therapy for diabetic foot and lower extremity peripheral artery disease (PAD), but their results are not consistent. Thus, the authors conducted the first meta-analysis concerning the safety and efficacy of UCMSC treatment in diabetic foot patients. 8 English and Chinese databases were searched to i…

- Popliteal Artery Compression Caused by Intraneural Ganglion Cyst of the Tibial Nerve. [Case Reports]Plast Reconstr Surg Glob Open. 2026 Mar; 14(3):e7521.PR
- Intraneural ganglion cysts are rare, benign mucinous cysts that arise within the epineurium of peripheral nerves. They most commonly involve the peroneal nerve, whereas involvement of the tibial nerve is exceptionally rare. Patients typically present with neurological deficits involving motor and sensory function of the affected nerve. We present a case of an intraneural ganglion cyst of the tibi…

- The aggressive wire recanalization in calcified atheroma and dilatation (ARCADIA) technique has been reported as a promising strategy for endovascular treatment (EVT) of severely calcified plaques in the common femoral artery (CFA). Although the technique is usually implemented via the contralateral CFA, establishing the contralateral approach system can be challenging at times. A 72-year-old man…
