- Incidentally Identified Pneumatosis Cystoides Intestinalis in Patients With Gastric Outlet Obstruction From Addis Ababa, Ethiopia: A Case Report. [Journal Article]Case Rep Surg. 2026; 2026:9963907.CR
- Pneumatosis cystoides intestinalis (PCI) is a rare condition characterized by the presence of multiple gas-filled cysts within the submucosal or subserosal layers of the intestinal wall. Although often asymptomatic and detected incidentally, PCI may be associated with significant underlying gastrointestinal or systemic pathology. We report two young adults from Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, who presente…

- Factors Influencing Attitudes and Adherence to Recommendations for Pressure Injury Prevention: Insights From a Cross-Sectional Study of Registered Nurses in Saudi Arabia. [Journal Article]SAGE Open Nurs. 2026; 12:23779608261458995.SO
- CONCLUSIONS: The findings demonstrated that registered nurses displayed favorable attitudes towards PIP alongside positive adherence to its recommendations. These findings may suggest a shared commitment and consistent engagement in PIP practices. Numerous sociodemographic factors and attitudes towards PIP emerged as significant predictors of nurses' adherence to the recommendations for PIP.

- Ischemic toe ulcer secondary to Buerger's disease managed with low-pressure negative pressure wound therapy and a moisture-preserving interface: a case report. [Case Reports]Int J Surg Case Rep. 2026 Jun; 138(6):2283-2289.IJ
- CONCLUSIONS: This case highlights the importance of tailoring NPWT techniques to the underlying vascular pathology. Low-pressure NPWT, combined with a moisture-preserving interface, may represent a useful approach for managing ischemic wounds in patients with Buerger's disease.

- Barriers and facilitators to pressure injury prevention in acute care hospitals in Alberta, Canada: an interpretive description. [Journal Article]J Wound Care. 2026 Jun; 35(Sup6a):S12-S24.JW
- CONCLUSIONS: The identified barriers and facilitators to HAPI prevention in hospital spanned from patients to the organisational context more broadly, and may be applicable to diverse hospital settings. Further investigation should explore the causes of the barriers and facilitators to enable targeted implementation strategies to prevent the occurrence of HAPIs.

- Pressure Ulcer Prevention at Home for People with Long-term Neurological Conditions, Carers and Personal Assistants: Synopsis - a Participatory, Qualitative study (PUP@Home1). [Journal Article]Health Soc Care Deliv Res. 2026 Jun; 14(20):1-46.HS
- CONCLUSIONS: The study highlights the significant impact and complexities of managing pressure ulcer prevention activities at home, for people with long-term neurological conditions, carers and personal assistants. By understanding these complexities from different perspectives, we were able to develop a systems map and Theory of Change pathway informing future intervention development and evaluation.

- Haemodynamic-Focused Bedside Ultrasound Enhances Early Detection of Sacral Pressure Injuries in Immobilised Polytrauma Patients. [Journal Article]Int Wound J. 2026 Jun; 23(6):e70966.IW
- Early detection of sacral pressure injuries (PIs) in immobilised polytrauma patients remains challenging. This study evaluated ultrahigh-frequency (UHF) ultrasound combining structural and haemodynamic parameters for early PI diagnosis. In a prospective cohort of 73 polytrauma patients (Injury Severity Score 16-25), daily sacrococcygeal assessments were performed over 15 days using UHF ultrasound…

- Repositioning for pressure injury prevention in adults. [Review]Cochrane Database Syst Rev. 2026 Jun 04; 6:CD009958.CD
- CONCLUSIONS: Repositioning is a frequently used strategy for pressure injury prevention in adult patients in acute, long-term, and aged healthcare settings. This updated review includes three new trials, but the findings and conclusions align with our earlier reviews. Most of the evidence is of low or very low certainty. There is a lack of robust evaluation of repositioning regimens for pressure injury prevention, and studies are small, resulting in uncertainty about the review findings. There are limited economic evaluation data, making it difficult to reach reliable conclusions about the relative costs of different repositioning regimens.

- Applying the ADAPT-ITT framework to adapt a lifestyle Redesign® occupational therapy intervention for diabetic foot ulcer self-management. [Journal Article]Transl Behav Med. 2026 Jan 07; 16(1).TB
- CONCLUSIONS: Application of the ADAPT-ITT framework supported a transparent, stakeholder-informed, and reproducible process for adapting an evidence-based occupational therapy intervention for a high-risk and medically complex population. This work illustrates how lifestyle-focused interventions can be systematically adapted for specialty care contexts, with subsequent testing needed to evaluate fidelity and effectiveness.
