  • Rotavirus (RV) is one of the leading causes of acute viral gastroenteritis in young children and various neonatal animals worldwide, posing significant challenges to both public health and livestock production. Porcine rotavirus (PoRV) induces acute enteric infection in neonatal piglets, resulting in severe vomiting, diarrhea, and dehydration, and is frequently associated with co-infections that …

  • Semaglutide is a long-acting glucagon-like peptide-1 (GLP-1) receptor agonist (GLP-1 RA), primarily used for the treatment of type 2 diabetes mellitus and obesity. Common adverse drug reactions (ADRs) include nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, abdominal pain, and constipation, whereas liver function-related ADRs are relatively rare. We report a rare and severe case of semaglutide-induced acute-on-chroni…
  • AKI and Mortality in Children Hospitalized With Malnutrition. [Journal Article]
    Kidney Int Rep. 2026 Jul; 11(7):106564.Batte A, Namugumya A, … Conroy ALKI
  • CONCLUSIONS: AKI is common in children hospitalized with acute malnutrition and is strongly associated with mortality when clinically meaningful creatinine thresholds are applied. Existing AKI risk tools perform poorly in this population, thereby underscoring the need for adapted approaches to AKI identification in malnourished children.
