- Effects of Virtual Reality on Postoperative Pain Management Following Minimally Invasive Gynecologic Surgery: Randomized Controlled Trial. [Randomized Controlled Trial]JMIR Form Res. 2026 Jul 02; 10:e92442.JF
- CONCLUSIONS: A single 20-minute VR intervention did not provide additional analgesic or anxiolytic benefit compared with standard postoperative care after minimally invasive gynecologic surgery. VR was well tolerated, and its role in postoperative recovery requires further investigation.

- Cold agglutination as a pivotal diagnostic clue for Waldenström macroglobulinemia: A rare case report with diagnostic and therapeutic insights. [Case Reports]Exp Ther Med. 2026 Aug; 32(2):217.ET
- Waldenström macroglobulinemia (WM) is a rare indolent B-cell lymphoproliferative disorder characterized by bone marrow infiltration and monoclonal immunoglobulin M (IgM) secretion, which poses diagnostic challenges in the early stage. The present study reported on a 63-year-old male with WM presenting with cough, hyperviscosity syndrome (dizziness, weakness, fatigue, blurred vision), severe anemi…

- Endocardial radiofrequency ablation for the treatment of pediatric hypertrophic cardiomyopathy: A report of two cases and a brief review of the literature. [Case Reports]Med Int (Lond). 2026 Jul-Aug; 6(4):45.MI
- The present case report evaluated the application and outcomes of endocardial radiofrequency ablation (ERFA) in children with hypertrophic cardiomyopathy (HCM). The clinical data, procedural details and short-term follow-up of two pediatric patients with HCM admitted to the department of cardiology from 2023 to 2024. In addition, literature published between 2012 and 2025 was reviewed using the k…

- Case Report: Neoadjuvant chemoimmunotherapy achieving pathological complete response in two cases of stage III EGFR-mutant NSCLC with high PD-L1 expression. [Case Reports]Front Oncol. 2026; 16:1844982.FO
- Resectable locally advanced EGFR-mutant non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) represents a distinct therapeutic challenge. Owing to an inherently immunosuppressive tumor microenvironment-frequently characterized by absence of or low PD-L1 expression and sparse CD8+ tumor-infiltrating lymphocytes-patients with EGFR alterations have been routinely excluded from landmark perioperative immunotherapy tri…

- Development and Validation of a Nomogram to Identify and Predict High-Distress Psychosocial Phenotypes in Tinnitus Patients: A Latent Profile Analysis. [Journal Article]Psychol Res Behav Manag. 2026; 19:614795.PR
- CONCLUSIONS: Subjective tinnitus patients exhibit profound psychosocial heterogeneity, with the Severe Anxiety Isolated phenotype facing the highest psychological risk. Our developed nomogram accurately predicts this high-risk phenotype using routine outpatient indicators, facilitating early risk stratification and precision biopsychosocial interventions.

- Comparison of ABBV-552 Safety and Pharmacokinetics in Healthy Asian and Western Adults. [Clinical Trial, Phase I]Clin Pharmacol Drug Dev. 2026 Jul; 15(7):e70072.CP
- ABBV-552, a positive modulator of synaptic vesicle glycoprotein 2A (SV2A), was under investigation as a treatment for cognitive impairment related to Alzheimer's disease. This Phase 1, multicenter, open-label, parallel cohort study (NCT05686980) was conducted to examine the pharmacokinetics (PK), safety, and tolerability of ABBV-552 in healthy adult Japanese and Han Chinese participants and to co…

- Long-segment cervicothoracic spinal cord injury occurring after cerebral angiography: a case report. [Journal Article]BMC Neurol. 2026 Jul 01. [Online ahead of print]BN
- CONCLUSIONS: This case reports a long-segment cervicothoracic CIS following cerebral angiography. Abnormal spinal collateral circulation may have delivered contrast medium to the spinal cord and thereby possibly contributing to the extensive injury observed. This outcome highlights the need for extreme caution with repetitive contrast injections at a single site.

- [A novel TPM1 variant causing Dilated cardiomyopathy in a child: A case report and literature review]. [Case Reports]Zhonghua Yi Xue Yi Chuan Xue Za Zhi. 2026 Aug 10; 43(8):606-612.ZY
- CONCLUSIONS: This study has identified a de novo TPM1 variant c.82_84del (p.Asp28del) as a novel cause of pediatric DCM. Early genetic testing is crucial for the diagnosis, clinical management, and genetic counseling. Above finding has also enriched the mutational spectrum of TPM1-associated cardiomyopathy.

- The referral-to-attendance gap in vestibular rehabilitation: a retrospective cohort study in diverse South Florida patients. [Journal Article]Front Neurol. 2026; 17:1862003.FN
- CONCLUSIONS: No measured sociodemographic or clinical variable explained non-attendance, suggesting that structural or logistical barriers may be the primary drivers of this gap. Neighborhood deprivation and insurance category were associated with clinically meaningful DHI improvement in exploratory analyses, but these findings are constrained by a small, racially homogeneous analytic sample and require confirmation in larger prospective studies with standardized outcome collection.

- Factors Influencing Functional Recovery in People After Chronic Critical Illness During Early Neurological Rehabilitation. [Journal Article]J Multidiscip Healthc. 2026; 19:609776.JM
- CONCLUSIONS: This study provides a systematic overview of physiotherapeutic goals, interventions, and mobility milestones after CCI. Cerebral lesion, CIP/CIM, and sepsis were associated with lower functional recovery and may represent relevant factors for rehabilitation approaches. However, further research is needed to validate the cumulative milestone score and to further investigate rehabilitation trajectories after CCI.

- Medication Burden: Beyond Counts to Recognize Polypharmacy as an Inherent Part of Living With Chronic Kidney Disease. [Journal Article]Basic Clin Pharmacol Toxicol. 2026 Aug; 139(2):e70260.BC
- Medication burden in older patients with chronic kidney disease (CKD) is substantial, and simple medication counts are insufficient for identifying those at elevated risk of inappropriate prescribing. This study characterized medication burden by assessing the number of medications, potentially inappropriate medications (PIMs) and anticholinergic burden in dialysis and non-dialysis patients with …
