- Factors Associated with Severe Primary Dysmenorrhea in Adolescent Girls: A Retrospective Single-Center Study. [Journal Article]J Pain Res. 2026; 19:593131.JP
- CONCLUSIONS: Early menarche, frequent cold food intake, high serum PGF2α and low physical activity are independent risk factors for severe primary dysmenorrhea in adolescent girls. Targeted interventions on these factors can help reduce the occurrence of severe dysmenorrhea.

- Depressive symptoms and associated factors among women preparing for pregnancy: a population-based study from the Seoul metropolitan preconception health management program. [Journal Article]BMC Womens Health. 2026 May 05. [Online ahead of print]BW
- CONCLUSIONS: Depressive symptoms were relatively common among women preparing for pregnancy and were closely associated with modifiable lifestyle factors, including smoking, sleep problems, and eating behaviors, as well as reproductive-related factors such as dysmenorrhea and infertility. These findings underscore the need to integrate systematic mental health screening and targeted lifestyle and reproductive health interventions into routine preconception and infertility care to improve women's psychological well-being and support healthier future pregnancies.

- Transcatheter cyanoacrylate embolization vs. pharmacologic therapy for gonadal vein reflux in symptomatic pelvic venous disorders: a randomized controlled trial. [Journal Article]Diagn Interv Radiol. 2026 May 05. [Online ahead of print]DI
- CONCLUSIONS: In women with symptomatic gonadal vein reflux, cyanoacrylate embolization, compared with conservative pharmacologic therapy, appears to provide significantly greater and more durable symptom relief, with low recurrence and an excellent safety profile, although the difference in clinical success rates did not reach statistical significance.

- Phenome-wide association study of uterine fibroid subtypes reveals symptoms of fibroid severity and subtype-specific comorbidities. [Journal Article]Res Sq. 2026 Apr 21.RS
- Background Uterine leiomyomata (or fibroids) are common benign tumors of the uterus. Fibroids are classified into subtypes by location: submucosal, intramural, subserosal. Although the symptomology and comorbidities associated with fibroids have been extensively assessed, there is less knowledge regarding factors associated with fibroid subtypes. We tested the associations between fibroid subtype…

- Linzagolix, with and without add-back therapy, in women with endometriosis-associated pain: results from EDELWEISS 6, a double-blind randomized extension and withdrawal study. [Journal Article]Hum Reprod Open. 2026; 2026(2):hoag030.HR
- CONCLUSIONS: Efficacy from this extension study complements the results of the main trial, by showing that linzagolix is effective at reducing endometriosis-associated pain for a majority of women.Efficacy was originally compared between the linzagolix and placebo groups from the main study, however, it would have been useful to have results from comparative studies with estro-progestogens or progestogens, to ascertain whether a GnRH antagonist has significant benefits over traditional first-line medications.Linzagolix, when administered orally once daily at a dose of 200 mg in combination with ABT, offers an additional option for effective, safe, and well-tolerated medical treatments for endometriosis that can be proposed in cases of estro-progestogen or progestogen inefficacy, as it can be used for a longer term, improving quality of life and reducing the need for analgesics and opioids. The risks of bone mineral loss and vasomotor symptoms were minimized due to the ABT. The 75 mg dose alone could be suitable for chronic treatment of endometriosis-associated pain without the need for concomitant hormonal ABT and may offer an option for some women, although further research is needed to confirm this finding.

- Clinical Value of Circulating Endometrial Cells in the Diagnosis and Stratified Diagnosis of Endometriosis. [Journal Article]J Clin Med. 2026 Apr 15; 15(8).JC
- Background/Objectives: The diagnosis of endometriosis (EM) remains challenging due to the lack of a perfect diagnostic standard and the poor concordance between clinical symptoms and lesion severity. Although laparoscopy is widely used in clinical practice, it is invasive and associated with a non-negligible false-negative rate, while serum CA125 has limited diagnostic accuracy. In our previous s…

- Endometriosis and Endometrial Cancer-Association Between Biological Mechanisms and Its Clinical Implications. [Review]J Clin Med. 2026 Apr 10; 15(8).JC
- Endometriosis and endometrial cancer are distinct gynecological conditions that share overlapping biological mechanisms with implications for clinical management. Endometriosis is a chronic, benign disorder characterized by the ectopic implantation of functional tissue lining the uterus, primarily affecting women of reproductive age. It commonly causes chronic pelvic pain, dysmenorrhea, dyspareun…

- Pediatric SARS-CoV-2 outcomes study (PECOS): 12-month longitudinal analysis of post-COVID symptoms in infected versus uninfected participants. [Journal Article]
- CONCLUSIONS: Interim analysis at one-year post-enrollment identifies 20 symptoms that infected participants were more likely to report post SARS-CoV-2 infection compared to uninfected, at either visit. Type of symptoms varies by age. Ongoing longitudinal data up to 3-years post-enrollment will increase understanding of long-term symptoms of SARS-CoV-2 infection in children and their trajectory.

- Endometriosis in Adolescents: A Literature Review. [Review]J Gynecol Obstet Hum Reprod. 2026 Apr 30; :103204. [Online ahead of print]JG
- Endometriosis is a chronic gynecological disorder that affects approximately 10% of women of reproductive age. In adolescents, it frequently remains underdiagnosed due to the heterogeneity of its clinical presentation. Pelvic pain and dysmenorrhea are often interpreted as physiological symptoms associated with the menstrual cycle, which contributes to delayd diagnosis and postpones timely interve…

- Prevalence of concomitant endometriosis in patients undergoing laparoscopic hysterectomy with suspected adenomyosis: a retrospective cohort study. [Journal Article]Eur J Obstet Gynecol Reprod Biol. 2026 Apr 15; 323:115126. [Online ahead of print]EJ
- CONCLUSIONS: Endometriosis was found in 73.6% of patients with suspected adenomyosis, which is higher than previously reported. This suggests a role for careful laparoscopic examination of the pelvis at time of hysterectomy in this population in order to account for all pathology. Further confirmation with a larger sample size and pain outcomes would assist with clinical decision-making and counseling.
