- The association between dietary acid load and endometriosis: a case-control study. [Journal Article]BMC Womens Health. 2026 Jul 01. [Online ahead of print]BW
- CONCLUSIONS: Higher DAL was associated with increased odd of endometriosis. These findings suggest that reducing the consumption of acid-producing foods may help lower the risk of endometriosis. Further prospective studies are warranted to confirm these findings and clarify the underlying mechanisms.

- The balancing act of app creation: Navigating the user-centred design of an industry-developed app for adolescents with menstrual pain. [Journal Article]Internet Interv. 2026 Sep; 45:100971.II
- Menstrual pain affects over half of menstruating adolescents, and there is a desire for accessible, adjunct treatments, such as behavioural health interventions in mobile health (mHealth) formats. To date, no mHealth apps for adolescents with menstrual pain have been designed with youth. Although user-centred design is best practice, many challenges can arise, particularly when working with indus…

- Comparative effectiveness of hormonal therapies for preventing recurrence in endometriosis: a real-world retrospective cohort study with risk factor analysis. [Journal Article]BMC Womens Health. 2026 Jun 30. [Online ahead of print]BW
- CONCLUSIONS: Among sequential GnRH-a maintenance regimens, DNG was associated with a lower recurrence rate than LNG-IUS in preventing 3‑year recurrence after laparoscopic cystectomy in this cohort. Although the recurrence rate in the DNG group was lower than that in the COC group, the difference did not reach statistical significance, indicating only a trend toward superiority. All three regimens have a favourable overall safety profile, but the LNG-IUS group has a higher incidence of spotting. Severe dysmenorrhoea, previous pelvic operation history, and r-AFS stage IV are independent risk factors for postoperative recurrence, whereas older age at surgery has a protective effect.

- Expression of circulating GRP78 and gp96, endoplasmic reticulum stress-related proteins, in menstrual and bladder pain sensitivity. [Journal Article]Sci Rep. 2026 Jun 30. [Online ahead of print]SR
- Dysmenorrhea is often linked to uterine inflammation, but the additional factors and pathways that contribute to its pathophysiology remain poorly understood. Given growing evidence linking endoplasmic reticulum (ER) stress to inflammation and pain sensitization, we examined circulating ER stress-associated heat shock proteins (HSPs) GRP78 and gp96 in individuals with dysmenorrhea (n = 82), a dys…

- Clinical efficacy and safety of subtotal resection of adenomyotic lesions based on the Kishi classification: a retrospective case series study. [Journal Article]Front Med (Lausanne). 2026; 13:1831932.FM
- CONCLUSIONS: In patients with severe adenomyosis who do not desire future fertility, who have a strong preference for uterine preservation, and who have failed multiple conservative treatments, this combined regimen was associated with significant improvements in dysmenorrhea severity, menstrual blood loss, anemia, CA125 levels, and uterine volume over a 12-month observation period, without any serious adverse events. This finding suggests that the regimen may be a safe and effective treatment option. However, its exact efficacy still requires validation through prospective controlled studies.

- The Strategies to Improve Healthcare Provider - Focus on Nurses. [Review]Gynecol Minim Invasive Ther. 2026; 15(2):108-113.GM
- Nursing requires significant physical and emotional effort, leading to high workplace stress. Most nurses are young, female, and of childbearing age, facing job-related stress and personal health challenges. This review explores three common health issues among female nurses: menstrual disorders, early pregnancy loss, and mental illness, which contribute to absenteeism and reduced job performance…

- Postoperative Outcomes on Endometriosis-related Pain Following Laparoscopic Adenomyomectomy: A Retrospective Cohort Study. [Journal Article]Gynecol Minim Invasive Ther. 2026 Apr-Jun; 15(2):121-126.GM
- CONCLUSIONS: Laparoscopic adenomyomectomy significantly improves dysmenorrhea and provides at least 24 weeks of good opportunity to undergo ovarian stimulation during the disease-free period. Pregnancy interval after adenomyomectomy might require a longer period. Thus, further studies should be conducted to evaluate pregnancy outcomes.

- Effects of Diaphragmatic Breathing in Primary Dysmenorrhea: A Randomized Controlled Trial. [Randomized Controlled Trial]Pain Res Manag. 2026; 2026(1):e5555669.PR
- CONCLUSIONS: DB may help reduce menstrual pain, symptoms, and stress and improve the quality of life in women with PD. Thus, DB can be used as a complementary method in addition to other therapies in PD management. However, due to factors such as the nonintervention control group, the use of subjective evaluation methods, and the presentation of short-term results and per-protocol analysis, the study's findings should not be generalized and should be interpreted as modest between-group effects.

- Integrative care for severe challenging behaviors and psychotic-like symptoms in an adolescent girl with Xia-Gibbs syndrome: a case report. [Journal Article]J Med Case Rep. 2026 Jun 28. [Online ahead of print]JM
- CONCLUSIONS: This case illustrates that in patients with complex neurodevelopmental disorders, comprehensive medical assessment should be prioritized over psychiatric assessment when possible, considering symptoms overlap and communication difficulties. As most risk factors for CBs can mutually reinforce and self-sustain, integrative care for these patients should consider concomitant interventions targeting both risk factors and CBs themselves.
