- Transvaginal versus transabdominal extraction techniques in laparoscopic surgery: a systematic review and meta-analysis. [Review]Minim Invasive Ther Allied Technol. 2026 May 06; :1-23. [Online ahead of print]MI
- CONCLUSIONS: TVSE is associated with improved postoperative outcomes when it replaces mini-laparotomy, whereas less benefit is observed versus laparoscopic port-site enlargement. Further randomized controlled trials are needed to confirm these findings.

- Uncoupling anatomical barriers from radiotherapy toxicity: a two-part hurdle analysis of sexual function in gynecologic cancer. [Journal Article]J Sex Med. 2026 Apr 09; 23(5).JS
- CONCLUSIONS: Sexual dysfunction following pelvic RT presents as a complex bifurcated phenomenon, wherein sexual engagement is strongly associated with parity-related anatomical factors and mechanical lubricative support, whereas overall functional quality is constrained by exposure to EBRT.

- Clinical changes in symptomatic cervical ectopy following vaginal hyaluronic acid therapy. [Journal Article]Front Med (Lausanne). 2026; 13:1832997.FM
- CONCLUSIONS: Vaginal hyaluronic acid therapy was associated with progressive epithelial transformation in women with symptomatic cervical ectopy, with descriptively observed symptom relief. However, because of the observational design, absence of a control group, and non-standardized symptom assessment, these findings should be interpreted as exploratory. Further randomized controlled trials are required to determine clinical effectiveness.

- Transcatheter cyanoacrylate embolization vs. pharmacologic therapy for gonadal vein reflux in symptomatic pelvic venous disorders: a randomized controlled trial. [Journal Article]Diagn Interv Radiol. 2026 May 05. [Online ahead of print]DI
- CONCLUSIONS: In women with symptomatic gonadal vein reflux, cyanoacrylate embolization, compared with conservative pharmacologic therapy, appears to provide significantly greater and more durable symptom relief, with low recurrence and an excellent safety profile, although the difference in clinical success rates did not reach statistical significance.

- Sexual health among patients with breast cancer undergoing endocrine therapy: an integrative review. [Review]
- CONCLUSIONS: Patients undergoing endocrine therapy experience a high prevalence of sexual dysfunction and symptoms of genitourinary syndrome of menopause. Several factors affect women's sexual health, including sociodemographic, physical, psychological, and treatment factors. A comprehensive assessment and targeted support should be offered to enhance sexual health outcomes in this population.

- Linzagolix, with and without add-back therapy, in women with endometriosis-associated pain: results from EDELWEISS 6, a double-blind randomized extension and withdrawal study. [Journal Article]Hum Reprod Open. 2026; 2026(2):hoag030.HR
- CONCLUSIONS: Efficacy from this extension study complements the results of the main trial, by showing that linzagolix is effective at reducing endometriosis-associated pain for a majority of women.Efficacy was originally compared between the linzagolix and placebo groups from the main study, however, it would have been useful to have results from comparative studies with estro-progestogens or progestogens, to ascertain whether a GnRH antagonist has significant benefits over traditional first-line medications.Linzagolix, when administered orally once daily at a dose of 200 mg in combination with ABT, offers an additional option for effective, safe, and well-tolerated medical treatments for endometriosis that can be proposed in cases of estro-progestogen or progestogen inefficacy, as it can be used for a longer term, improving quality of life and reducing the need for analgesics and opioids. The risks of bone mineral loss and vasomotor symptoms were minimized due to the ABT. The 75 mg dose alone could be suitable for chronic treatment of endometriosis-associated pain without the need for concomitant hormonal ABT and may offer an option for some women, although further research is needed to confirm this finding.

- Endometriosis and Endometrial Cancer-Association Between Biological Mechanisms and Its Clinical Implications. [Review]J Clin Med. 2026 Apr 10; 15(8).JC
- Endometriosis and endometrial cancer are distinct gynecological conditions that share overlapping biological mechanisms with implications for clinical management. Endometriosis is a chronic, benign disorder characterized by the ectopic implantation of functional tissue lining the uterus, primarily affecting women of reproductive age. It commonly causes chronic pelvic pain, dysmenorrhea, dyspareun…

- The value of posterior colpotomy first technique on the vaginal length during total abdominal hysterectomy. [Randomized Controlled Trial]
- CONCLUSIONS: The posterior colpotomy first technique is associated with less shortening of the total vaginal length, less occurrence of dyspareunia, and higher female sexual function index score compared to the classic approach for TAH.

- The interventional value and research progress of vaginal microbiota transplantation in improving female sexual quality of life associated with dysbiosis of the reproductive microecosystem. [Review]Front Med (Lausanne). 2026; 13:1812754.FM
- Dysbiosis of the female genital tract microbiota represents a key pathological basis underlying clinical symptoms such as vaginal dryness and dyspareunia, which subsequently contribute to diminished sexual quality of life (QoL) in women. Although conventional antimicrobial therapies may provide short-term relief from infectious symptoms, they often fail to restore vaginal microbial homeostasis-th…

- Intravaginal progesterone as a fertility-sparing treatment for symptomatic adenomyosis: preliminary results from a monocentric study. [Journal Article]
- CONCLUSIONS: Intravaginal progesterone appears to be an effective fertility-sparing treatment for symptomatic adenomyosis, providing significant relief across all primary symptoms, with high patient satisfaction. Larger controlled studies are warranted to confirm these preliminary findings and further define its role in clinical practice.

- Symptom Burden in Adenomyosis: A Comparative Analysis With Peritoneal and Deep Infiltrating Endometriosis. [Journal Article]In Vivo. 2026 May-Jun; 40(3):1614-1620.V
- CONCLUSIONS: AM is associated with a symptom burden comparable to that of peritoneal and DIE. These findings underscore adenomyosis as a clinically significant cause of pelvic pain and highlight the need for early recognition and appropriate management.

- Soy isoflavone supplementation and sexual function in postmenopausal women: a systematic review and meta-analysis of randomized controlled trials. [Review]
- Postmenopausal women often experience sexual dysfunction (e.g., vaginal dryness, dyspareunia) due to estrogen decline. While hormone replacement therapy (HRT) is effective, safety concerns have spurred interest in alternatives like soy isoflavones. This meta-analysis evaluated soy isoflavones' efficacy for sexual function and menopausal symptoms. We systematically searched PubMed, Cochrane, Scopu…
