  • Reduction and discontinuation of compression therapy after lymphaticovenular anastomosis for upper extremity lymphedema. [Journal Article]
    J Plast Reconstr Aesthet Surg. 2026 Aug 03; 121:131-138. [Online ahead of print]Tsukura K, Onoda S, … Satake TJP
  • CONCLUSIONS: LVA was associated with stage-specific modification of compression therapy. Early-stage patients are more likely to achieve complete discontinuation, whereas advanced-stage patients more likely achieved partial reduction. Furthermore, reduction in compression burden may contribute to improved quality of life. These findings support a stage-adapted treatment strategy for LVA in upper extremity lymphedema.
  • Technical considerations for cervical spine hemangioblastoma resection: A 2-D operative video. [Case Reports]
    Surg Neurol Int. 2026; 17:428.Ratnaparkhi A, Vyas D, … Levi ADSN
  • CONCLUSIONS: The patient had an uncomplicated postoperative hospital course and recovery. At 2 weeks, he was at his neurologic baseline with mild balance issues and upper-extremity myelopathy. At 4 months, he demonstrated marked improvement in preoperative myelopathy symptoms with only mild intermittent posterior neck numbness and nocturnal shoulder pain. Patient consent was obtained. Institutional Review Board approval was not required, given the single-case observational video.
  • Post-surgical Brachial Plexopathy. [Case Reports]
Cureus. 2026 Jul; 18(7):e112109.Pandey HK, Gudenkauf KJ, Lee JC
  • Postoperative brachial plexopathy is a rare but recognized complication of cervical spine surgery, typically resulting from intraoperative traction, positioning, or compression of the brachial plexus. We present the case of a man in his 50s with poorly controlled diabetes who developed acute, severe upper-extremity pain, weakness, and numbness two days after a multilevel anterior cervical discect…
  • Disseminated Nocardia farcinica with multiple cerebral abscesses in a patient receiving induction immunosuppression for autoimmune hepatitis: case report. [Case Reports]
    Front Med (Lausanne). 2026; 13:1825538.Alnounou A, Bahariev D, … Boamah HFM
  • CONCLUSIONS: Disseminated nocardiosis should be considered for immunosuppressed patients with autoimmune hepatitis presenting with subacute neurological decline and ring-enhancing brain lesions, particularly during outpatient immunosuppression transitions when antimicrobial prophylaxis may be interrupted or incompletely reconciled. The patient demonstrated progressive neurological improvement and radiographic abscess reduction after 3 months of susceptibility-guided combination therapy, reinforcing the importance of early tissue diagnosis and neurosurgical intervention in this population.
  • Dorsal scapular nerve entrapment: a systematic review. [Review]
JSES Rev Rep Tech. 2026 Nov; 6(4):100807.Afshar A, Tabrizi A, Shariyate MJJR
  • CONCLUSIONS: DSN entrapment neuropathy is an uncommon but clinically significant cause of periscapular pain. Recognition of characteristic clinical features and understanding of the anatomical course of the nerve are essential for accurate diagnosis. Current evidence regarding management remains limited to low-level studies, highlighting the need for prospective investigations with standardized diagnostic criteria and outcome measures.
  • Immediate and Sustained Effects of Contralateral Handgrip Exercise on Hand Edema in Patients with Stroke. [Journal Article]
    NeuroRehabilitation. 2026 Aug; 59(1):119-125.Hayashi H, Kato A, … Ogihara HN
  • BackgroundHand edema is a common post-stroke complication that negatively affects function and quality of life. However, interventions for hand edema remain limited.ObjectiveIn this study, we investigated whether contralateral resistance handgrip exercises performed with the non-paretic hand could immediately and sustainably reduce hand edema in patients with stroke.MethodsThis study used a B-A-B…
