- Ultrasound-Guided Humerus-Parallel Injectate Distribution to the Posterior Antebrachial Cutaneous Nerve-Related Fascial Plane and Common Extensor Origin: A Proof-of-Concept Cadaveric Anatomical Feasibility Study. [Journal Article]Diagnostics (Basel). 2026 May 31; 16(11).D
- Background: Lateral epicondylopathy is commonly approached as a tendinopathic disorder of the common extensor origin; however, persistent lateral elbow pain may also involve a superficial sensory nerve component related to the posterior antebrachial cutaneous nerve (PABCN). This proof-of-concept cadaveric anatomical feasibility study evaluated whether a single-window, humerus-parallel ultrasound-…

- Is there still room for conservative treatment of Distal Biceps Tendon ruptures? What patients (and surgeons) should know. A case series with a mean 4-years follow-up. [Journal Article]J Shoulder Elbow Surg. 2026 Jun 11. [Online ahead of print]JS
- CONCLUSIONS: Based on these data, conservative treatment for DBT ruptures remains a viable option in sedentary patients, resulting in limited strength deficits that are usually not clinically relevant. Conservative treatment might lead to poorer clinical results in heavy and repetitive workers if compared to the sedentary group and therefore, in this population surgical management should be preferred and discussed. Conversely, this study highlights chronic pain as a potentially underappreciated issue that may significantly impact daily activities. Occupational demands should be carefully considered when selecting treatment, whereas limb dominance appears less relevant for clinical outcomes.

- Humeroradioulnar Synostosis in a Patient with Underlying Congenital Scoliosis: A Case Report. [Case Reports]J Orthop Case Rep. 2026 Jun; 16(6):374-378.JO
- CONCLUSIONS: Humeroradioulnar synostosis is an exceedingly rare orthopedic condition that results from abnormal segmentation of the bones of the elbow during fetal development. Only six reports of this anomaly were found in our literature review. This report is of a 17-year-old male with a humeroradioulnar synostosis and is the first to describe this anomaly in a patient with defects of the ipsilateral shoulder and wrist with underlying congenital scoliosis. He has been able to maintain a high level of function, enjoy hobbies, such as cooking, and go to school, and is thus being treated conservatively with observation for this issue.

- Delayed Spontaneous Pectoralis Major Tendon Rupture Following Anterior Latissimus Dorsi Transfer for Irreparable Subscapularis Tear: A Case Report. [Case Reports]J Orthop Case Rep. 2026 Jun; 16(6):339-343.JO
- CONCLUSIONS: Delayed rupture of the PM tendon can occur as a long-term complication after anterior LD transfer. PM transfer represents an effective salvage procedure, restoring IR strength and shoulder function. Awareness of this potential complication and preservation of the PM insertion during the index procedure are essential.

- Synovial Fluid Biomarkers Reflect Pre- and Postoperative Clinical Features in Rotator Cuff Tears, Independent of Tear Size. [Journal Article]J Orthop Res. 2026 Jun; 44(6):e70235.JO
- Synovitis is a major contributor to pain and dysfunction in rotator cuff tears (RCTs), yet it remains unclear whether routine synovial fluid (SF) parameters reflect clinical features independent of tear size, operation method, and patient age. This prospective cohort study aimed to evaluate the associations between routine SF parameters and clinical features before and after rotator cuff repair. …

- All-Suture Anchors Exhibit Less Perianchor Fluid Formation Independent of Healing Quality Compared With PEEK Anchors in Arthroscopic Rotator Cuff Repair: A Propensity Score-Matched Comparative Study. [Journal Article]J Shoulder Elbow Surg. 2026 Jun 09. [Online ahead of print]JS
- CONCLUSIONS: ASA and PEEK anchors yielded comparable clinical outcomes and healing rates after arthroscopic rotator cuff repair at a minimum 2-year follow-up. Although perianchor fluid formation correlated with repair integrity in the PEEK anchor group, all-suture anchors demonstrated lower rates of perianchor fluid formation, with no significant association observed between fluid formation and healing quality in the ASA group.

- Towards a common definition of frozen shoulder: a scoping review of randomized controlled trials. [Review]J Shoulder Elbow Surg. 2026 Jun 09. [Online ahead of print]JS
- CONCLUSIONS: The definition of FS in RCTs differs substantially across diagnostic domains, which may affect the comparability of study populations and the interpretation of treatment outcomes. The development of standardized, clearly described eligibility criteria, particularly regarding terminology, disease stage, pain and ROM criteria, symptom duration, and exclusion of other shoulder pathologies, will help strengthen methodological rigor and improve the interpretability of future clinical trials.
