- Integrated geophysical, geological, and machine learning approach for structural characterization of the Balakot-Bagh fault zone associated with the 2005 Mw 7.6 Kashmir earthquake. [Journal Article]Sci Rep. 2026 May 07. [Online ahead of print]SR
- Active fault reactivation poses significant hazards, and understanding their near-surface structure is crucial for mitigating seismic risk. Along the Balakot-Bagh fault (BBF), the source of the 2005 Mw 7.6 Kashmir earthquake, geomorphic evidence is gradually eroded and sedimented. Traditional Electrical Resistivity Tomography (ERT) often produces smoothly varying tomograms that obscure sharp stru…

- BackgroundTennis elbow is a common musculoskeletal condition that causes discomfort and functional limitations in the wrist extensors. Manual therapy techniques including neural mobilization, Mulligan, and Maitland mobilization are commonly used to relieve pain and improve upper limb function, but their relative usefulness is unknown.ObjectiveTo compare between three manual therapy approaches (ra…

- Adherence to clinical guidelines in treating degenerative disorders of the supraspinatus tendon: A descriptive baseline analysis of surgical vs. conservative approaches in a 12-month observational study. [Journal Article]Shoulder Elbow. 2026 May 04; :17585732261442570. [Online ahead of print]SE
- CONCLUSIONS: Clinicians recommended treatment in line with guidelines, emphasising rotator cuff tear presence and high pain intensity. Patients recommended surgery differed from those recommended conservative management, so future analyses should compare these treatment groups.

- Routine long head of the biceps release improves pain and functional outcomes after arthroscopic rotator cuff repair of degenerative tears: A retrospective comparative study. [Journal Article]SICOT J. 2026; 12:25.SJ
- CONCLUSIONS: The findings of this study indicate that routine LHBT release during rotator cuff repair, even in the absence of macroscopic pathology, is associated with less postoperative pain and superior functional scores.

- Clinical Utility of the Moving Valgus Stress Test and Milking Maneuver for Medial Ulnar Collateral Ligament Injuries of the Elbow. [Journal Article]Am J Sports Med. 2026 May 06; :3635465261439107. [Online ahead of print]AJ
- CONCLUSIONS: The moving valgus stress test and milking maneuver demonstrated acceptable clinical utility in which the moving valgus stress test was better for ruling out MUCL injuries and the milking maneuver was better at ruling in MUCL injuries. There was no added value when combining the 2 tests together or with other maneuvers.

- Effect of BMAC-PRP augmentation on repair of large rotator cuff tears: a clinical evaluation among different age groups. [Journal Article]Sci Rep. 2026 May 05. [Online ahead of print]SR
- The use of orthobiologic augmentation, including platelet-rich plasma (PRP) and bone marrow aspirate concentrate (BMAC), has gained increasing attention in rotator cuff repair; however, evidence supporting their combined use remains limited and inconsistent. This prospective randomized controlled study evaluated the clinical efficacy of PRP and combined PRP with BMAC (BMAC + PRP) following arthro…

- The relationship between trapezius muscle oxygenation, respiratory and peripheral muscle strength, and functional performance in patients with chronic neck pain. [Journal Article]Physiother Theory Pract. 2026 May 05; :1-13. [Online ahead of print]PT
- CONCLUSIONS: Trapezius muscle oxygenation was associated with respiratory muscle strength, upper extremity exercise capacity, and activities of daily living. These findings suggest that trapezius muscle oxygenation may provide insight into underlying physiological mechanisms related to respiratory and functional impairment.

- Open repairs with biceps rerouting does not impact retears in large to massive rotator cuff tears compared to conventional open repair: a randomized clinical trial. [Journal Article]J Shoulder Elbow Surg. 2026 May 02. [Online ahead of print]JS
- CONCLUSIONS: We could not identify an advantage of open repair with LHBT rerouting as reinforcement over conventional open repair. Nonetheless, all clinical scores improved at the end of the 24 months of follow-up in both groups.

- Ipsilateral Shoulder and Elbow Dislocation Without Fracture: A Case Report. [Journal Article]Mil Med. 2026 May 04. [Online ahead of print]MM
- Simultaneous ipsilateral elbow and shoulder dislocations without associated fracture or other injury are extremely rare injuries. To date, there have been no such recorded injuries that include a posterior shoulder dislocation per a review of PubMed databases. This case involves an otherwise healthy 28-year-old male who sustained a simultaneous posterior left elbow dislocation with a posterior le…

- Time-Dependent Efficacy and Safety of Percutaneous Treatments for Lateral Epicondylitis: A Systematic Review and Network Meta-Analysis. [Review]J Pain Res. 2026; 19:604185.JP
- CONCLUSIONS: The therapeutic efficacy of percutaneous treatments appears to be time-dependent. Corticosteroids may be considered for rapid short-term relief, while DPT shows potential advantages for mid-term recovery. For long-term management, PRP and DN may offer sustained analgesia, potentially avoiding the grip strength deficits occasionally associated with BT.

- Partial Tear at the Musculotendinous Junction of the Teres Major after Anterior Latissimus Dorsi and Teres Major Tendon Transfer: Associated Factors and Clinical Impact in 256 Patients. [Journal Article]J Shoulder Elbow Surg. 2026 Apr 30. [Online ahead of print]JS
- CONCLUSIONS: Partial tear at the MTJ of the TM is a relatively frequent finding after aLDTM tendon transfer. Although most lesions heal spontaneously, persistent tears are associated with inferior functional outcomes. Excessive intraoperative tension and a lower bending angle at the MTJ were identified as associated factors. These findings suggest that optimizing tendon tension and graft configuration during fixation may help reduce the risk of partial tear and preserve the synergistic function of the transferred muscles.

- Do Radiographic Measurements of Glenoid or Humeral Lateralization and Distalization Affect Post-Operative Outcomes for Reverse Total Shoulder Arthroplasty? [Journal Article]J Shoulder Elbow Surg. 2026 Apr 30. [Online ahead of print]JS
- CONCLUSIONS: Greater positive change from preoperative to postoperative LSA was associated with improved subjective-shoulder value scores. Lower global distalization was associated with greater subjective-shoulder value scores. While global lateralization may be beneficial in moderation along with limiting global distalization, the independent effects of glenoid or humeral-sided lateralization or distalization measured radiographically may have a lesser impact on patient reported outcomes.
