- Maxillary Tooth Sizes and Dental Anomalies in Schizophrenia Patients: A Case-Control Study. [Journal Article]Noro Psikiyatr Ars. 2026; 63:454-460.NP
- CONCLUSIONS: Reduction in tooth size and increased presence of diastema in patients with schizophrenia may contribute to the hypothesis that there are possible variations that may represent specific markers of embryological dysmorphogenesis underlying schizophrenia.

- Ameloblastic Fibro-Odontoma in a 16-Month-Old Male: A Case Report and Literature Review. [Case Reports]World J Plast Surg. 2026; 15(1):17-22.WJ
- Ameloblastic fibro-odontoma (AFO) is a rare benign mixed odontogenic tumor characterized by both soft tissue proliferation and dental hard tissue formation. This case report presents a 16-month-old male with AFO in the anterior mandible, representing one of the youngest documented cases. The patient presented with progressive facial swelling first noted at 10 months of age. Clinical examination r…

- Effects of A-PRF[+] Extract at Different Concentrations on the Metabolic Activity and Migration of Dental Pulp Stem Cells in Irreversible Pulpitis: An In Vitro Study. [Journal Article]Int J Dent. 2026; 2026:3582890.IJ
- CONCLUSIONS: A-PRF[+] exerted concentration-dependent effects on IP-DPSCs, with diluted preparations supporting greater migration and metabolic activity than undiluted extracts. These findings suggest the existence of a biologically favorable concentration range for A-PRF[+] and provide a rationale for further investigation of concentration optimization in regenerative endodontic applications.

- Case report of severe unilateral posterior scissors bite in children treated with clear aligners. [Case Reports]Front Dent Med. 2026; 7:1835728.FD
- CONCLUSIONS: For strictly indicated cases, clear aligners combined with alternating intermaxillary traction can effectively correct severe unilateral posterior scissors bite in children, with the advantages of low discomfort and superior esthetic performance, which is worthy of clinical promotion. Nevertheless, high patient compliance must be emphasized in complex pediatric cases to avoid occlusal relapse caused by treatment interruption.

- Cleft Care India Study: A National Audit on Patients with Non-Syndromic Unilateral Cleft Lip and Palate Patients. Part 2: Oral Health Outcomes. [Journal Article]Cleft Palate Craniofac J. 2026 Jul 13; :10556656261465273. [Online ahead of print]CP
- Background: Oral health is a critical yet often neglected component of cleft care. Individuals with cleft lip and palate (CLP) are predisposed to a higher risk of dental caries and poor oral hygiene due to anatomical, functional, and behavioral challenges. Despite national public health efforts, limited data exist from India on the oral health status of this vulnerable group. Objective: To evalua…

- Oral and Gut Microbiomes Reveal Potential Physiological Constraints on Release Readiness in Rehabilitating Javan slow lorises. [Journal Article]Am J Primatol. 2026 Jul; 88(7):e70184.AJ
- Illegal wildlife trade and habitat degradation displace thousands of animals annually in Southeast Asia, with many confiscated primates housed in rehabilitation centers that increasingly function as long-term holding environments. In slow lorises, dental clipping associated with the pet trade may generate persistent disruption along the oral-gut axis, potentially undermining physiological readine…

- Immediate effects of TENS intervention in bruxers with localized masticatory muscle hyperalgesia: a randomized, double-blinded, proof-of-concept study. [Journal Article]BMC Oral Health. 2026 Jul 11. [Online ahead of print]BO
- CONCLUSIONS: In this proof-of-concept study, a single session of TENS was associated with immediate increases in masseter PPT and changes in selected EMG and mandibular movement measures in individuals with probable bruxism and localized masticatory muscle mechanical hyperalgesia but without DC/TMD-defined painful TMD.

- Clinical and radiographic outcomes of horizontal auto-augmentation of the anterior mandible using a single-site surgical technique prior to delayed implant placement: a case series. [Journal Article]
- CONCLUSIONS: The findings of this preliminary case series suggest that the auto-augmentation technique from the mandibular symphysis is a technically feasible protocol for horizontal ridge augmentation. By confining the surgery to a single localized window, it achieves adequate bone gain while minimizing donor-site trauma and optimizing patient recovery profiles.

- The aim of this article was to evaluate clinical outcomes of single immediately placed and restored dental implants using a co-axial inverted body-shift design with a synthetic graft material in the anterior maxilla. A prospective case series was conducted on patients receiving single immediate implants in the anterior maxilla. Sixteen-month clinical and radiographic assessments included biologic…

- From regimen to representation: medical advice and the beautiful body in early modern Europe. [Journal Article]Med Humanit. 2026 Jul 10. [Online ahead of print]MH
- Framing physical beauty as a barometer of health, this article charts the dialogue between early modern medical instruction (regimens and recipes) and figurative artworks. This dialogue took on new potency in the Renaissance with the widespread circulation of medical regimens and recipes in print, and reinvigorated cultural imagery that foregrounded the body. At the same time, the threat and last…

- Painful temporomandibular disorders (p-TMD) frequently co-occur with headache and other musculoskeletal pain conditions, yet longitudinal evidence from preadolescence remains limited. This study examined whether preadolescent spinal pain is associated with p-TMD and headache in young adulthood. Data were obtained from the Danish National Birth Cohort (DNBC). Participants aged 18 years or older, w…

- Internal derangement (ID) of the temporomandibular joint (TMJ) is a common condition that is characterized by an abnormal relationship between the articulating disc and the mandibular condyle, often resulting in pain during jaw movements, joint sounds, and restricted mouth opening. Etiology of ID of TMJ is often multifactorial, involving functional, mechanical and biological factors that disturb …

- Functional imaging of neural structures at the base of the cranium, including the trigeminal ganglion (TG), is technically challenging due to limited optical access. The TG-the largest sensory ganglion in the head-houses primary afferent neurons that relay information from the teeth, oral cavity, and face, yet investigation of somatosensory processing at the population level has remained limited.…
