- Pantoea agglomerans infection: a rare case of infection in a totally implantable venous access port. [Case Reports]AME Case Rep. 2026; 10:94.AC
- CONCLUSIONS: In conclusion, P. agglomerans is a rare pathogen that causes a range of clinical infections. Besides entering the bloodstream to cause bacteremia, P. agglomerans, it can also lurk in the indwelling devices and trigger high fever in susceptible patients. Therefore, aseptic technique, prompt antibiotic therapy and removal of the infected source are crucial to control P. agglomerans infection.

- Accidental intrathecal injection of high-dose magnesium sulphate with conventional-dose bupivacaine: a case report. [Case Reports]AME Case Rep. 2026; 10:120.AC
- CONCLUSIONS: This case report demonstrates that inadvertent intrathecal injection of magnesium sulphate during anaesthesia can lead to severe complications. Local pharmaceutical manufacturers are advised to modify ampoule appearance, optimize internal risk-based segregation of high-risk medications, and enforce double-check protocols to reduce the recurrence of similar incidents.

- Improved Pelvic Support and Urinary Symptoms Following Apical Mesh Reinforcement with a Partially Absorbable Lightweight Polypropylene Mini Mesh for Advanced Pelvic Organ Prolapse. [Journal Article]Isr Med Assoc J. 2026 Jan; 28(1):34-39.IM
- CONCLUSIONS: Transvaginal repair with the Seratom PA MR MN® partially absorbable mini mesh demonstrated significant improvements in anatomical and subjective outcomes, with few complications, and low recurrence rates. Further studies are necessary to validate these outcomes and optimize patient selection.
- Intraoperative and postoperative evaluation of temporomandibular joint disc repositioning and suturing via anteriorly based or posteriorly based approaches to the neurovascular bundle: a retrospective single-center cohort study. [Journal Article]Head Face Med. 2026 Jun 15. [Online ahead of print]HF
- CONCLUSIONS: The modified posteriorly based approach for TMJ disc repositioning and suturing is a safe and effective technique for treating ADDWoR. Compared with the anteriorly based approach, it offers advantages in reducing facial nerve injury and minimizing flap complications, despite longer operative time and increased intraoperative bleeding.

- A historical case study of early neurosurgery in Ireland: posterior fossa decompression for a skull base tumour in 1922. [Journal Article]Ir J Med Sci. 2026 Jun 15. [Online ahead of print]IJ
- The 1920s was a formative period in the development of neurosurgery in Ireland. This study examines a 1922 brain tumour case treated by Adams McConnell, father of Irish neurosurgery, that illustrates the clinical limitations and defining practices of early neurosurgical interventions. A 19-year-old female was admitted with progressive neurological symptoms, including paraesthesias, diplopia, wors…

- Novel devices for intrarenal pressure monitoring: are they the future? [Journal Article]Curr Opin Urol. 2026 May 20. [Online ahead of print]CO
- CONCLUSIONS: Current evidence, although predominantly retrospective, suggests that real-time IRP monitoring and automated pressure control improve safety without compromising efficacy. Standardization of measurement techniques and high-quality randomized trials are required to confirm clinical benefit and cost-effectiveness. Nevertheless, intelligent pressure-regulated systems align with the broader evolution toward data-driven, feedback-controlled endourology and may represent an important step toward safer intrarenal surgery.

- Microcystic lymphatic malformation of the small intestine presenting as acute abdominal pain in a 5-year-old boy: a case report and review of the literature. [Journal Article]J Med Case Rep. 2026 Jun 15. [Online ahead of print]JM
- CONCLUSIONS: Microcystic lymphatic malformation of the small intestine is a rare but important differential diagnosis in children presenting with acute abdominal pain and localized bowel wall thickening. Because clinical and imaging findings are often nonspecific, definitive diagnosis usually relies on histopathological examination. Complete surgical excision provides both diagnostic confirmation and curative treatment, with excellent short-term outcomes.

- Pulmonary tuberculosis mimicking cystic metastases: evolution from multiple cystic cavities to nodules during therapy. [Journal Article]BMC Infect Dis. 2026 Jun 13. [Online ahead of print]BI
- Pulmonary tuberculosis typically exhibits characteristic imaging findings; however, radiological manifestations can be atypical in certain cases, leading to potential misdiagnosis based solely on CT imaging. We describe a 59-year-old man who developed a 4-month history of cough and a 2-week fever during postoperative radiotherapy following esophagectomy for esophageal cancer. CT scans revealed mu…

- Case report on resistant postpartum hemorrhage during cesarean section treated with a modified quadruple uterine belt suture technique for uterus preservation. [Journal Article]BMC Pregnancy Childbirth. 2026 Jun 13. [Online ahead of print]BP
- CONCLUSIONS: The quadruple modified uterine dorsal suture technique represents a variant of traditional compression suturing, enabling uniform compression of the entire uterine segment and rapid hemostasis. Combined with multimodal interventions, it effectively addresses refractory postpartum hemorrhage of complex etiology. Strict control of suture tension and postoperative dynamic monitoring can balance the benefits of uterine preservation with surgical risks.

- Does omitting a ureteral stent affect the outcomes of uncomplicated ureteroscopy for ureteral and kidney stones in adults? Results from a systematic review and meta-analysis of comparative randomized trials by the EAU endourology section. [Systematic Review]World J Urol. 2026 Jun 13; 44(1).WJ
- CONCLUSIONS: Routine DJ stenting after uncomplicated URS in adults is unnecessary and increases morbidity without improving efficacy. Clinicians should adopt a selective stenting strategy, reserving DJ stents for specific indications. For pre-stented patients, a short-term overnight ureteral catheter represents a valid alternative to DJ stenting.

- Constrictive Pericarditis and Bilateral Pleural Effusions Unmasked in an HLA-B27 Positive Patient. [Case Reports]JACC Case Rep. 2026 Jun 12; :108616. [Online ahead of print]JC
- CONCLUSIONS: This case suggests a potential autoinflammatory role of HLA-B27 in the development of CP. Although HLA-B27 is known to drive chronic inflammation in spondyloarthropathies, and these conditions have established cardiac manifestations, its relationship to pericardial disease remains poorly defined. In otherwise idiopathic cases of CP, isolated HLA-B27 positivity may represent a potential predisposing factor warranting further investigation.
