  • Case Report: Paraneoplastic melanoma-associated retinopathy mimicking posterior uveitis. [Case Reports]
Front Neurol. 2026; 17:1897579.Abid SF, Khan MH, … Lee AGFN
  • CONCLUSIONS: MAR is a vision-threatening paraneoplastic disorder that more commonly arises in patients with an existing diagnosis of melanoma. Most cases of MAR have normal or near normal fundus examinations at onset. Our case is interesting because the fundus presentation mimicked a posterior uveitis and vitrectomy was non-diagnostic. Clinicians should be aware of paraneoplastic MAR and the potential for "masquerade syndrome." Systemic search for underlying neoplasms including occult melanoma or carcinoma is warranted in such cases.
  • Nd:YAG Laser Vitreolysis For Primary Symptomatic Vitreous Floaters : A Systematic Review and Meta-analysis. [Review]
Ophthalmol Retina. 2026 Jul 31. [Online ahead of print]Alnajres A, Alsenani S, … Alkatan HMOR
  • CONCLUSIONS: Nd:YAG laser vitreolysis was associated with significant improvement in patient-reported visual function and contrast sensitivity while maintaining stable visual acuity and a favorable safety profile. Although PPV remains more definitive, Nd:YAG vitreolysis may provide meaningful low-risk symptomatic relief in appropriately selected patients with vitreous floaters amenable to Nd:YAG vitreolysis. Future large, high-quality randomized controlled trials comparing Nd:YAG vitreolysis with PPV are warranted.
  • Choroidal Detachment in a Patient on a CPAP Therapy. [Journal Article]
    Case Rep Ophthalmol Med. 2026; 2026:2417779.Żurowska E, Zwolińska E, Rospond-Kubiak ICR
  • CONCLUSIONS: The CPAP treatment is a possible, though unproven, contributor to the choroidal detachment. The patient improved during corticosteroid, cycloplegic, and IOP-lowering treatment.
  • Visual Blurring Following Posterior Vitreous Detachment in Fuchs Uveitis Syndrome. [Journal Article]
    J Ophthalmic Vis Res. 2026; 21.Hedayatfar A, Chee SPJO
  • CONCLUSIONS: Acute PVD in patients with FUS can lead to sudden blurred vision, likely due to the increased density of inflammatory cells, opacities, and condensed vitreous strands within a detached, shrunken vitreous gel. In some cases, inflammatory deposits were layering over the peripheral vitreous body, contributing further to visual disturbance. Although most eyes showed spontaneous improvement, PPV was an effective intervention for patients with persistent, intolerable symptoms.
  • Floatable and Integrated Shape-shifting Hydrogel Carrier. [Journal Article]
    Adv Mater. 2026 Jul 22; :e74200. [Online ahead of print]Zhao T, Cao M, … Liu MAM
  • Aquatic interfacial materials that regulate multiphase interactions are pivotal for environmental and energetic applications, yet traditional rigid floaters lack morphological adaptability and integrated flexibility. Inspired by the active buoyancy regulation of Microcystis, we present a floatable and integrated shape-shifting (FISS) hydrogel, combining solid-like robustness with liquid-like adap…
  • Choroidal Osteoma: Case Series. [Journal Article]
    Case Rep Med. 2026; 2026:8005092.Aubakirova A, Sarsembekova K, … Berlibek DCR
  • CONCLUSIONS: Choroidal osteoma is a rare benign ossifying tumor that predominantly affects young individuals and may be associated with inflammatory or immune-mediated conditions. Multimodal imaging is essential for accurate diagnosis and monitoring. Although tumor progression is usually slow, long-term surveillance is necessary because of the risk of decalcification, retinal pigment epithelium atrophy, serous retinal detachment, and choroidal neovascularization.
  • Intraoperative Characteristics and Postoperative Complications of Primary Vitrectomy for Vitreous Floaters. [Journal Article]
    J Vitreoretin Dis. 2026 Jul 14; :24741264261463382. [Online ahead of print]Sood S, Kamal SM, … Do BKJV
  • CONCLUSIONS: This is the largest retrospective case series describing operative patterns and outcomes associated with PPV for floaters. Rates of serious postoperative complications, including endophthalmitis, VH, and retinal tear/RD requiring surgery, were low. Certain surgical patterns were associated with higher rates of complications. In carefully selected patients counseled on serious complications, PPV for floaters is relatively safe and achieves good visual outcomes.
  • Bilateral choroidal metastases as the presenting sign of disseminated endometrial adenocarcinoma: a case report. [Case Reports]
Gynecol Oncol Rep. 2026 Aug; 66:102161.Srinivas T, Kelly EC, … MacArthur ECGO
  • CONCLUSIONS: To our knowledge, this case represents the first report of bilateral choroidal metastases as the presenting manifestation of previously undiagnosed stage IV endometrial adenocarcinoma, underscoring the complex phenotypes seen with high-grade histologic manifestations of this increasingly prevalent disease. As the rate of high-grade endometrial cancer continues to rise, clinicians should remain aware that atypical presentations may arise. Early recognition and comprehensive systemic evaluation are essential, as unusual presentations of endometrial malignancy, as was the case with this patient, may signal advanced disease with limited treatment options.
  • Multi-omics-guided diagnosis and treatment of toxoplasma retinochoroiditis with co-infection: a case report. [Journal Article]
BMC Ophthalmol. 2026 Jul 11. [Online ahead of print]Xie Q, Deng J, … Zhou GBO
  • CONCLUSIONS: This case highlights the diagnostic challenges of ocular inflammation in patients with co-infections and demonstrates the value of multi-omics-guided intraocular fluid analysis for precise pathogen identification. This case supports a combined treatment strategy of anti-toxoplasmosis medication and cautious corticosteroid use, which-despite the risk of reactivating latent infections-can achieve excellent anatomical and visual outcomes.
