- Surgical evacuation of an isolated interhemispheric subdural hematoma presenting with falx syndrome in the subacute period: A case report. [Case Reports]Surg Neurol Int. 2026; 17:318.SN
- CONCLUSIONS: In isolated IHSDH with falx syndrome, persistent focal motor deficit despite partial improvement may prompt reconsideration of continued observation. In this case, radiological evolution suggesting hematoma organization was considered alongside the persistent deficit when subacute evacuation was selected.

- A Case of Chronic Limb Threatening Ischaemia with Severely Impaired Pedal Arteries Successfully Treated with Viscosity Intervention and Subsequent Pedal Bypass Surgery. [Case Reports]EJVES Vasc Forum. 2026; 65:212-217.EV
- This case report presents a 49 year old man with chronic limb threatening ischaemia (CLTI) and seronegative rheumatoid arthritis who presented with ischaemic foot ulcers, rest pain, and severely impaired pedal circulation. Imaging revealed occlusions of the dorsalis pedis, common plantar, and medial plantar arteries, with no visualised perfusion around the foot wounds, classifying the case as no …

- High-altitude headache: Insights into pathophysiology and potential treatment implications. [Review]J Physiol. 2026 Jun 03. [Online ahead of print]JP
- High-altitude headache (HAH) is the most common neurological manifestation triggered by hypoxia during rapid ascent above 2500 m, often presenting as an isolated symptom or as part of acute mountain sickness (AMS). HAH shares clinical features with migraine, cluster headache and other primary headache, complicating differential diagnosis. Prevalence varies widely depending on ascent speed and alt…

- Erythromelalgia mimicking diabetic foot infection: diagnostic challenges and contraindication of ice application. [Journal Article]J Med Case Rep. 2026 Jun 02. [Online ahead of print]JM
- CONCLUSIONS: This case not only demonstrates the critical importance of differentiating EM from DFI, but also emphasizes the necessity of avoiding ice therapy in its management, providing valuable insights for clinical practice.

- Prevalence and Severity of Self-Assessed Hallux Valgus in Community-Dwelling Older South African and Flemish Individuals. [Journal Article]J Foot Ankle Res. 2026 Jun; 19(2):e70173.JF
- CONCLUSIONS: HV prevalence is similar in older South African and Flemish individuals, despite differing footwear habits, supporting the multifactorial nature of HV formation. These findings emphasize the need for region-specific data and clinical strategies to address HV in older populations.

- Endoscopic versus open flexor hallucis longus tendon transfer for reconstruction of chronic achilles tendon rupture: A prospective randomized pilot trial. [Journal Article]Foot Ankle Surg. 2026 May 29. [Online ahead of print]FA
- CONCLUSIONS: Both open and endoscopic FHL tendon transfer provided excellent functional outcomes in the management of chronic Achilles tendon rupture. The endoscopic technique was associated with fewer wound complications and improved early postoperative recovery, despite longer operative time.

- [High-speed luge trauma with complex trauma of the foot and acute compartment syndrome in an 8-year-old child : Late result at 18 years follow-up]. [Journal Article]
- CONCLUSIONS: Urgent relief of acute foot CS within 6 h of trauma is also essential in children. A staged surgical approach is recommended for complex foot trauma with severe soft tissue injury.

- Clinical Outcomes and Safety of Stem Cell Therapy for Diabetic Foot Ulcers: A Cross-Sectional Analysis of Overlapping Meta-Analyses. [Journal Article]Diabetes Metab Syndr Obes. 2026; 19:593437.DM
- CONCLUSIONS: The study indicated that stem cell therapy appeared to be a promising therapeutic option for improving clinical outcomes. However, conclusions should be interpreted with caution due to overlapping primary studies, heterogeneity, and the secondary nature of this cross-sectional evaluation. Moreover, no clear evidence of increased serious adverse events was identified in the highest-quality meta-analysis.

- Weight-Bearing Test: A Straightforward and Reliable Indicator of Stability in Supination-External Rotation Type, Weber B Ankle Fractures. [Journal Article]Clin Orthop Surg. 2026 Jun; 18(3):543-547.CO
- CONCLUSIONS: Based on these good radiographic and clinical outcomes, the WB test appears to be a simple and reliable clinical indicator for identifying stable SER/Weber B type lateral malleolar fractures that can be managed nonoperatively.

- Midterm Outcomes of 3-Component Mobile-Bearing Total Ankle Arthroplasty in 124 Ankles: Influence of Preoperative Varus, Valgus, and Neutral Alignment. [Journal Article]Clin Orthop Surg. 2026 Jun; 18(3):558-570.CO
- CONCLUSIONS: TAA can achieve favorable midterm clinical outcomes across a spectrum of preoperative coronal alignment patterns when combined with appropriate adjunctive corrective procedures. Varus deformity, including more severe forms, often requires additional correction; however, when appropriately addressed, clinical outcomes are likely to be maintained. Given the limited number of valgus ankles and the midterm follow-up duration, cautious interpretation is warranted, and further studies are needed to clarify long-term outcomes.

- Menopause and Plantar Heel Pain: Findings From a Series of Focus Groups Exploring Lived Experience. [Journal Article]J Foot Ankle Res. 2026 Jun; 19(2):e70154.JF
- CONCLUSIONS: Participants felt the relationship between menopause and PHP requires further investigation, with a focus on understanding the level of awareness of association among healthcare professionals and patients. The implementation of any findings needs to consider ethnic and cultural barriers, and those that may be present in a primary care setting.

- Comparison of Bone Marrow Stimulation and Particulated Autologous Cartilage Transplantation for Osteochondral Lesions of the Talus With a 2-Year Follow-up. [Journal Article]Orthop J Sports Med. 2026 May; 14(5):23259671261444306.OJ
- CONCLUSIONS: Our study demonstrated that PACT achieved significantly superior morphologic cartilage regeneration compared with BMS in OLTs at 1-year follow-up. However, the differences in clinical outcomes between the 2 treatments were not significant. Notwithstanding, additional follow-up studies are needed to assess the effects of PACT on long-term outcomes.

- Assessment of Biomechanical Parameters and Their Correlation During Barefoot Walking and Arch-Building Gait in Plantar Fasciitis Using a Dynamic Gait Analysis System: A Cross-Sectional Study. [Journal Article]Cureus. 2026 Apr; 18(4):e108016.C
- Background Plantar fasciitis (PF) is one of the most common causes of heel pain and is associated with significant functional limitation and reduced quality of life. Alterations in foot biomechanics and plantar pressure distribution are considered key contributors. Short foot exercises effectively strengthen intrinsic foot muscles, improve arch support, and dynamic stability. We can incorporate t…
