- A Case Report of Vitamin C Deficiency Mimicking Osteomyelitis. [Case Reports]Pediatr Rep. 2026 Apr 14; 18(2).PR
- Vitamin C, also known as ascorbic acid, plays a pivotal role in forming blood vessels, cartilage, muscles, and collagen in bones. We report a 6-year-old non-verbal female with global developmental delay who presented with complaints of lower limb pain and inability to bear weight. Symptoms started five weeks prior to presentation and had progressed from decreased activity to complete loss of weig…

- Drug-induced gingival overgrowth: FAERS based real-world pharmacovigilance study and network pharmacology analysis. [Journal Article]Front Pharmacol. 2026; 17:1775430.FP
- CONCLUSIONS: CCBs carried the highest DIGO risk, followed by IMMs and AEPs. Bisphosphonates were associated with DIGO and may act through PI3K-AKT/MAPK pathways, providing a mechanistic hypothesis for clinical medication safety.

- Spongiotic gingival hyperplasia: a systematic review of histopathologic features. [Review]Front Oral Health. 2026; 7:1780111.FO
- CONCLUSIONS: SGH is a reactive gingival pathology that primarily occurs in adolescents. The histopathologic features of SGH consistently reported were hyperplastic non-keratinized stratified squamous epithelium with spongiosis and prominent vascular stroma. Surgical excision was curative in the majority of cases.

- Reactive gingival lesions: a multicenter study of 8,625 cases from South America. [Journal Article]Oral Surg Oral Med Oral Pathol Oral Radiol. 2026 Feb 20. [Online ahead of print]OS
- CONCLUSIONS: RGL represent a relevant proportion of oral biopsies in South America and predominantly affect adult women. Their clinical presentation is largely nonspecific, reinforcing diagnostic challenges in routine practice. Inclusion of less emphasized entities, such as giant cell fibroma and traumatic neuroma, broadens the clinical perspective.

- Operating Microscope in the Analysis of Localized Juvenile Spongiotic Gingival Hyperplasia. [Case Reports]Oral Dis. 2025 Dec; 31(12):3417-3419.OD
- The aim of this study was to describe the clinical microscopic features of localized juvenile spongiotic gingival hyperplasia (LJSGH) using an operating microscope (OM), a non-invasive technique rarely applied to oral mucosal lesions. An 18-year-old female presented with asymptomatic gingival redness and bleeding affecting the buccal gingiva of previously orthodontically treated maxillary canines…

- Trimodal cytological integration of micronuclei assay, argyrophilic nucleolar organizer region staining, and cytomorphometry enhances diagnostic discrimination of canine gingival masses. [Journal Article]Vet World. 2026 Jan; 19(1):65-80.VW
- CONCLUSIONS: The integration of cytomorphometry, AgNOR staining, and the micronuclei assay creates a strong, quantitative cytological framework that improves diagnostic accuracy for canine gingival masses. This three-part approach decreases subjective interpretation, enhances detection of malignant changes, and can easily be adapted to digital and AI-supported cytopathology systems in veterinary clinical practice.

- Targeted Photodynamic Therapy for Multispecies Dental Biofilms Using Liposome Encapsulated p-Toluquinone. [Journal Article]Chem Eng J. 2026 Feb 15; 530.CE
- Oral infections remain highly prevalent among individuals with limited access to routine dental care. Blue light (BL) offers a promising alternative for managing these infections, but its efficiency is limited without BL-activated photosensitizers. Here, we engineered an ionizable liposome to encapsulate a newly identified BL-activated photosensitizer, p-toluquinone (p-TQ). The resultant p-TQ@Lip…

- Primary Aldosteronism Causing Aortic Dissection: A Case Report. [Case Reports]Am J Case Rep. 2026 Mar 01; 27:e951215.AJ
- BACKGROUND Primary aldosteronism (PA) is the most common cause of endocrine-related secondary hypertension, accounting for up to 10% of hypertensive cases in specialized centers. It is associated with increased risks of cardiovascular events, target organ damage, and metabolic complications. However, PA is often underdiagnosed due to its subtle or atypical clinical manifestations. In particular, …

- Oral Necrotizing Ulcerations in Acute Leukemia Patients: Clinical Characteristics, Integrated Management, and Favorable Outcomes - A Case Series. [Case Reports]Int Med Case Rep J. 2026; 19:570294.IM
- CONCLUSIONS: Oral Necrotizing Ulcerations, including NUG, NUP, and NUS, represent significant clinical manifestations of acute leukemia, reflecting the underlying immunosuppression, hematologic abnormalities, and oral microbial dysbiosis inherent to the disease. Early recognition of characteristic clinical features, followed by integrated local oral management and close coordination with systemic medical care, can lead to favorable healing outcomes despite profound hematologic compromise.
