- Impact of weight loss and reduction of ultra-processed foods on liver fat content in MASLD: a randomized controlled trial. [Journal Article]JHEP Rep. 2026 Jun 22; :101929. [Online ahead of print]JR
- CONCLUSIONS: In patients with MASLD, weight loss and reductions in UPF intake, rather than diet type, were the main drivers of improvements in liver fat and metabolic health. These findings support a patient-centered dietary approach in MASLD management.

- Thyroid Artery Flow Velocity and Serum Adenosine Deaminase After Methimazole Therapy in Autoimmune Hyperthyroidism. [Journal Article]J Vis Exp. 2026 Jun 05; (232).JV
- Autoimmune hyperthyroidism, including Graves' disease and Hashimoto's hyperthyroidism, presents with overlapping biochemical features but distinct pathophysiological mechanisms. Non-invasive methods that reflect both vascular and immune activity may improve disease differentiation and treatment monitoring. This retrospective single-center study included 60 newly diagnosed hyperthyroid patients (3…

- Associations of sphingosine-1-phosphate with thyroid function and structure: A cross-sectional population-based study. [Journal Article]Eur Thyroid J. 2026 Jun 22. [Online ahead of print]ET
- CONCLUSIONS: Circulating S1P is inversely associated with TSH and positively associated with fT3, suggesting a potential modulatory role of S1P in thyroid function.

- Percutaneous dilation tracheostomy guided by rigid bronchoscopy. [Case Reports]Multimed Man Cardiothorac Surg. 2026 Jun 22; 2026.MM
- Herein, we described a redo tracheostomy in a patient with a large mediastinal goitre. A percutaneous dilation tracheostomy was performed under rigid bronchoscopy. Rigid bronchoscopy provided several advantages compared with flexible bronchoscopy. It suctioned significant blood and secretions, secured the airway and ensured adequate ventilation during the entire procedure. Technically, the rigid …

- The application value of quantitative analysis of orbital soft tissue parameters on plain CT scans in evaluating the activity of thyroid-associated ophthalmopathy. [Journal Article]Front Endocrinol (Lausanne). 2026; 17:1767565.FE
- CONCLUSIONS: The measurement of the CSA of the superior rectus muscle at 7 mm posterior to the orbital globe, the CSA of the medial rectus muscle, OM, Intraorbital fat density, and the OM/TOA ratio via plain CT scan serves as a reliable and feasible technical approach for evaluating disease activity in patients with TAO in primary ophthalmic healthcare institutions.

- A Rare Case of Primary Thyroid Lymphoma. [Case Reports]Cureus. 2026 May; 18(5):e109116.C
- Primary thyroid lymphomas (PTL) are a unique malignancy that arises from within the thyroid gland and is not typically considered in the differential diagnosis of thyroid cancers. PTL is strongly associated with underlying autoimmune thyroiditis; despite this association, there are no screening guidelines. Management of PTL involves chemotherapy, contrasting with the surgical and radioactive iodi…

- [Dyshormonogenetic goiter in a patient with congenital hypothyroidism: clinical, morphological and genetic features]. [Case Reports]Arkh Patol. 2026; 88(3):59-65.AP
- Dyshormonogenetic goiter (DG) is a rare genetic disorder of thyroid gland development resulting from deficiencies in enzymes involved in thyroid hormone synthesis. Clinical manifestations include congenital hypothyroidism (CH), thyroid enlargement, and nodule formation. Morphologically, the thyroid gland exhibits histoarchitectural heterogeneity and cellular polymorphism, which can mimic malignan…

- Iodine Nutrition in Emilia-Romagna Region, Italy: A Successful Story of Prevention of Iodine Deficiency Disorders. [Journal Article]Endocr Metab Immune Disord Drug Targets. 2026 Jun 10. [Online ahead of print]EM
- The Emilia-Romagna region, Italy, achieved iodine sufficiency many years before the approval of Law 55/2005, which introduced a nationwide salt iodization program voluntarily in the country. Indeed, more than 10 years before the Law, the Emilia-Romagna region implemented a local program of iodine, carrying out information campaigns to promote the use of iodized salt in the population. Epidemiolog…

- Utilization of cardiopulmonary bypass for resection of a massive left retrotracheal thyroid goiter: a case report and review of literature at a tertiary care hospital in Saudi Arabia. [Journal Article]J Surg Case Rep. 2026 Jun; 2026(6):rjag214.JS
- Substernal goiter consists of thyroid tissue extending into the thoracic cavity and is more common in females. Total thyroidectomy is standard, though some cases require advanced approaches. Cardiopulmonary bypass (CPB) may be considered in selected cases for hemodynamic stability. We aimed to describe a rare case of retrotracheal thyroid goiter managed using CPB and review reported surgical appr…

- Robotic transaxillary thyroidectomy in children: a retrospective institutional study. [Journal Article]Gland Surg. 2026 May 31; 15(5):136.GS
- CONCLUSIONS: In this small single-institution series, robotic transaxillary thyroidectomy was technically feasible and safe in carefully selected pediatric patients, with low morbidity and short hospital stays. These findings are hypothesis-generating only and do not establish superiority over conventional open thyroidectomy. The substantially longer operative time and absence of validated patient-reported outcome data are key limitations. Prospective multi-centre studies with validated QoL instruments and a contemporaneous control group are urgently needed.

- Rhabdomyoma of paracarotid space: case report. [Case Reports]Front Surg. 2026; 13:1839742.FS
- Rhabdomyoma is a skeletal muscle lesion. It is considered a rare and non-aggressive tumor originating from striated muscle. It may occur in the heart or in extracardiac region. In adults, it most typically occurs in the larynx and pharynx. The occurrence in the paracarotid space is extremely rare, and no similar cases was found in the recent literature. We present an unprecedented case of a parac…

- Frequency of Thyroid Cancer in Multinodular Goiter Undergoing Thyroidectomy in Tertiary Care Centre in Pakistan: A Cross-Sectional Analysis. [Journal Article]Health Sci Rep. 2026 Jun; 9(6):e72652.HS
- CONCLUSIONS: Thyroid carcinoma was present in 16% of MNG cases, predominantly papillary type. Smoking and urban residence emerged as significant risk factors for papillary thyroid carcinoma. Preoperative ultrasound and FNAC remain critical for risk stratification. Larger multicenter studies with molecular profiling are warranted.
