  • Dysmenorrhea patients' experience with work productivity impact and treatment in Japan. [Journal Article]
BMC Womens Health. 2026 Jun 12. [Online ahead of print]Hiraike O, Goto D, … Osuga YBW
  • CONCLUSIONS: The productivity impact observed in patients with dysmenorrhea was substantial and found to be similar to that of patient groups with major chronic conditions such as mental disorders, headaches, and low back pain. We further found that dysmenorrhea patients' productivity outcomes varied across treatment groups. Whilst prospective studies with adjustment for confounding factors are needed to establish the generalizability of differences between treatment- and condition-based subgroups, our findings underscore the need for greater awareness of dysmenorrhea as a condition that deserves medical attention, and timely medical care may help reduce the burden and improve the quality of life.
  • CD4[+]T cells mediate systemic and local immune changes and pain symptoms in the rat model of temporomandibular disorders related pain. [Journal Article]
    J Headache Pain. 2026 Jun 12. [Online ahead of print]He J, Hei Y, … Chen XJH
  • CONCLUSIONS: This study demonstrated IL-17 A increased with pain independent of CD4[+]T cells at the early stage. But consistently lower pain sensitivity, reduced systemic and local inflammatory cytokines in the later were identified after CD4 + T cell depletion. So we suggest that CD4[+] T cells are important to maintain TMD-related pain and central to the late-phase immunological cascade in this model. More underlying mechanism of CD4[+] T cells involved in TMD-related pain warrant further investigations.
  • Prevalence and symptoms of barodontalgia in aircrew: a systematic review. [Systematic Review]
Br Dent J. 2026 Jun; 240(11):748-754.Duarte M, Guerrero Bonilla JD, … Hernández Hincapié HGBD
  • Aim To synthesise epidemiological and clinical evidence on in-flight barodontalgia in professional aircrew. Methods We searched Scopus, PubMed, Web of Science, and Google Scholar for cross-sectional studies of in-flight barodontalgia. Seven studies (2013-2024) met the inclusion criteria. Data were extracted in duplicate, and risk of bias was assessed with the JBI cross-sectional checklist. Given h…
  • Neuromelioidosis in a nutshell-Pattern and Endemicity. [Journal Article]
Clin Radiol. 2026 May 09; 98:107381. [Online ahead of print]Janet Preethi Philomina P, Sunitha VC, Adithan SCR
  • Timely and accurate imaging diagnosis is critical in cases of fever, altered sensorium, seizures, or headaches that do not respond to conventional clinical management. This pictorial essay aims to highlight, through case illustrations, the critical role of imaging in identifying Burkholderia pseudomallei-a rare but significant infectious agent responsible for a characteristic pattern of brain and…
  • First major Clade IIb mpox outbreak in Africa: Narrative review of Sierra Leone's 2025 epidemic. [Review]
Ig Sanita Pubbl. 2026 Mar-Apr; 99(2):51-62.Bita AIG, Agbornkwai AN, Achuondou EEIS
  • The mpox outbreaks observed in 2025 highlighted significant shifts in transmission dynamics, viral clades, and public health responses, particularly in Africa. In contrast, Sierra Leone experienced its largest mpox outbreak that year-Africa's first major Clade IIb epidemic-which ran from 10 January to 17 December 2025. It involved 5,442 confirmed cases among 7,110 suspected cases, a case fatality…
  • Plasma CGRP Levels in Migraine: A Registry for Migraine Study. [Journal Article]
Neurology. 2026 Jul 14; 107(1):e218152.Karlsson WK, Christensen RH, … Ashina HNeur
  • CONCLUSIONS: Plasma CGRP concentrations were modestly lower in migraine and did not vary by clinical subtype or disease state. These findings challenge the assumption that migraine is characterized by elevated circulating CGRP and suggest limited utility of plasma CGRP as a disease biomarker.
  • Fatigue, neurological, and cognitive symptoms after COVID-19 - a nationwide matched cohort study in Denmark. [Journal Article]
Infect Dis (Lond). 2026 Jun 12; :1-13. [Online ahead of print]Hansen KT, Jensen CB, … Bech BHID
  • CONCLUSIONS: Participants with COVID-19 had higher odds of all outcomes, especially within the first 4 weeks. After 12 weeks, the ORs were attenuated but still indicated an association for all outcomes except concentration difficulties. Individuals vaccinated against COVID-19 tended to report fewer symptoms after COVID-19. Participants with severe COVID-19 had the highest odds of symptoms.
  • Metabolic Syndrome: a Clinical Case Report and Literature Review. [Case Reports]
Cell Physiol Biochem. 2026 Jun 03; 60(3):280-290.Chu SD, Pham LT, … Nguyen HQCP
  • CONCLUSIONS: This case highlights the early manifestation of metabolic syndrome and illustrates its underlying pathophysiological mechanisms. Effective management requires early diagnosis, lifestyle modification, weight reduction, and individualized pharmacological therapy to improve metabolic control and reduce long-term cardiovascular risk.
