- Applications of Celiac Plexus Block in Chronic Pancreatitis or Pancreatic Cancer. [Review]Curr Pain Headache Rep. 2026 May 07; 30(1).CP
- Celiac plexus block (CPB) is an established interventional technique for the management of severe upper abdominal pain, particularly in patients with chronic pancreatitis (CP) and pancreatic cancer (PC). Pain in these conditions is complex, involving visceral and neuropathic mechanisms and, in CP, additional contributions from neuropathic remodeling, central sensitization, and altered descending …

- Effectiveness of GV20-based wearable low-level laser acupoint therapy for pain on head. [Randomized Controlled Trial]
- The effectiveness of GV20-based Wearable Low-level Laser Acupoint Therapy for pain on right temporal head was investigated. The study was designed as a triple-blinded, randomized controlled clinical trial. The deep pressure pain targeted by 300g monofilament and Visual Analog Scale (VAS, 0-10) scores on right temporal head were assessed were randomly assigned to wearable LLLAT (650 nm, 5 mW, 30 m…

- Trigeminal Neuralgia in NF2-Related Schwannomatosis. [Journal Article]J Neurol Surg B Skull Base. 2026 Jun; 87(3):264-267.JN
- CONCLUSIONS: The majority of TN patients did not have an ipsilateral trigeminal schwannoma. Our data suggest factors associated with TN include size of vestibular schwannoma, history of previous radiotherapy treatment, and migraine.

- Pituitary Apoplexy Precipitated by Non-Cranial Surgeries: An Institutional Experience. [Journal Article]J Neurol Surg B Skull Base. 2026 Jun; 87(3):293-298.JN
- CONCLUSIONS: Despite differences in surgical context, several factors seemed to predispose these patients to PA: wide fluctuations in intraoperative blood pressure, preexisting hypertension, and macroadenomas exceeding 2 cm. In patients with known macroadenomas, risk stratification may be helpful based on adenoma size and comorbid conditions affecting vascular health. Sudden intraoperative changes in blood pressure should be avoided. For those with predisposing risk factors undergoing high-risk surgeries, especially cardiac procedures that utilize anticoagulation, obtaining a preoperative computed tomography (CT) head may be warranted.

- Glymphatic function restored by α 1-noradrenergic antagonism alleviates headache allodynia in mice. [Journal Article]bioRxiv. 2026 Apr 28.B
- Mild traumatic brain injury (mTBI) often leads to migraine-like post-traumatic headache (PTH), yet effective treatments are limited. Clinical and preclinical studies have shown that mTBI disrupts glymphatic transport of cerebrospinal fluid in the brain. We hypothesized that altered glymphatic transport might underlie facial allodynia commonly associated with migraine and PTH. A closed-head impact…

- Unusual CNS relapse of plasma cell leukemia manifesting as multiple extra-axial brain lesions: A case report with literature review. [Case Reports]Radiol Case Rep. 2026 Jul; 21(7):2905-2911.RC
- Central nervous system (CNS) involvement in multiple myeloma (MM) is rare - occurring in approximately 1% of cases - and typically presents as dural-based lesions, leptomeningeal infiltration or solitary parenchymal tumors. Multifocal extra-axial intracranial lesions without systemic relapse are extremely uncommon. We describe a 51-year-old male with plasma cell leukemia who initially presented w…

- Diagnostic approach to episodic ataxia types 1 and 2: a proposed algorithm for limited resource-settings. [Journal Article]Front Neurol. 2026; 17:1735246.FN
- CONCLUSIONS: EA1 and EA2 patients represent clinically different populations. We propose a management algorithm based on features with highest diagnostic accuracy, which may inform decision-making in resource-limited settings.

- Bilateral Optic Neuritis in Paediatric Acute Disseminated Encephalomyelitis: A Case Report of Clinical Challenges and Management Outcomes. [Case Reports]Cureus. 2026 Apr; 18(4):e106441.C
- Paediatric optic neuritis is a rare inflammatory demyelinating condition that frequently presents with bilateral involvement and a generally favourable prognosis compared to adult-onset forms. We report the case of a seven-year-old boy with a history of thalassemia trait and mild autism who presented with a one-day history of sudden bilateral painful vision fluctuation, headache, and fever. Initi…

- The role of physical activity in children and adolescents with chronic pain: the moderating effects of psychological symptoms and sleep difficulties. [Journal Article]Pain. 2026 May 07. [Online ahead of print]PAIN
- Chronic pain in children and adolescents affects physical, psychological, social, and academic function. Although physical activity may play a role, its direct effects and its interactions with sleep difficulties and psychological symptoms remain unclear. This cross-sectional study examined whether physical activity is associated with chronic pain, and whether these associations vary by sleep dif…

- CONCLUSIONS: Pediatric CCHF in endemic regions is strongly associated with environmental and behavioral exposures, particularly livestock contact and tick handling. The disease course appears milder compared to adults, with excellent outcomes under supportive care. Ribavirin use was not associated with improved clinical outcomes.
