- Menopause and Plantar Heel Pain: Findings From a Series of Focus Groups Exploring Lived Experience. [Journal Article]J Foot Ankle Res. 2026 Jun; 19(2):e70154.JF
- CONCLUSIONS: Participants felt the relationship between menopause and PHP requires further investigation, with a focus on understanding the level of awareness of association among healthcare professionals and patients. The implementation of any findings needs to consider ethnic and cultural barriers, and those that may be present in a primary care setting.

- Assessment of Biomechanical Parameters and Their Correlation During Barefoot Walking and Arch-Building Gait in Plantar Fasciitis Using a Dynamic Gait Analysis System: A Cross-Sectional Study. [Journal Article]Cureus. 2026 Apr; 18(4):e108016.C
- Background Plantar fasciitis (PF) is one of the most common causes of heel pain and is associated with significant functional limitation and reduced quality of life. Alterations in foot biomechanics and plantar pressure distribution are considered key contributors. Short foot exercises effectively strengthen intrinsic foot muscles, improve arch support, and dynamic stability. We can incorporate t…

- Superior Gluteal Vein Entrapment: Targeted Surgical Decompression for Aberrant Anatomy. [Journal Article]Fertil Steril. 2026 May 27. [Online ahead of print]FS
- CONCLUSIONS: Aberrant pelvic venous anatomy can cause clinically significant intrapelvic sciatic nerve compression even in the absence of imaging findings; however, this single-case surgical demonstration, performed in a highly specialized setting, requires expertise. It is worth acknowledging that permanent metal clips were used for venous ligation in this case. Bipolar energy devices or absorbable polymeric clips may be preferable alternatives in future applications, may reduce the risk of long-term nerve-related complications.

- Effects of articulatory manual therapy versus soft tissue massage based on GDS muscle chains method in plantar heel pain: A randomized pilot study. [Journal Article]J Back Musculoskelet Rehabil. 2026 May 28; :10538127261451359. [Online ahead of print]JB
- BackgroundPlantar fasciitis (PF) is a leading cause of heel pain, impairing function and quality of life. While manual therapy is widely used, comparative evidence between specific techniques remains limited.ObjectiveThis study aimed to compare the effects of articulatory manual therapy (AMTG) and soft tissue massage based on the GDS muscle chains method (MCTG) on pain, function, and quality of l…

- Endoscopic plantar fasciotomy versus open plantar fasciotomy for treatment of plantar fasciitis: a systematic review and meta-analysis. [Systematic Review]J Orthop Surg Res. 2026 May 27. [Online ahead of print]JO
- CONCLUSIONS: This study showed that both EPF and EPF appear to be effective treatments. EPF was associated with shorter operative times and a lower complication rate.

- The role of orthotic devices in managing hallux rigidus: A systematic review and meta-analysis of clinical and biomechanical outcomes. [Review]Foot (Edinb). 2026 May 27; 68:102264. [Online ahead of print]F
- CONCLUSIONS: Orthotic appliances are of moderate effectiveness in remedying biomechanical function in Hallux rigidus. Clinical results differ significantly because of the diversity in orthosis design, the various measures used for outcomes, and the duration of follow-up.

- From Pain to Search: Mapping USA and Global Interest in Plantar Fasciitis. [Journal Article]J Am Podiatr Med Assoc. 2026 Apr 24; 116(3).JA
- Background: Plantar fasciitis is a leading cause of heel pain, affecting approximately 10% of the population. Despite its prevalence, treatments may result in symptom recurrence and chronicity, which can significantly increase patient dissatisfaction. Google Trends provides insights into public interest through search volume analysis. This study examines global and USA trends in plantar fasciitis…

- Impact of Chronic Ankle Instability Following Ankle Sprain on Ankle Dorsiflexion, Heel Lift Function, and Quality of Life. [Journal Article]J Am Podiatr Med Assoc. 2026 Apr 24; 116(3).JA
- Background: Chronic ankle instability (CAI) post-sprain leads to persistent functional deficits. This study evaluated CAI's specific impact on ankle dorsiflexion, heel lift function, stability, broader functional impairments, and quality of life. Methods: A case-control study enrolled 100 CAI patients (post-ankle sprain) and 100 healthy controls. Ankle strength (isokinetic dynamometer), stability…

- Short-Term Effects of Targeted Movement Training on Gait Kinematics in Children with Juvenile Idiopathic Arthritis: A Motion Analysis Study. [Journal Article]J Clin Med. 2026 May 09; 15(10).JC
- Background: Children with juvenile idiopathic arthritis (JIA) exhibit gait abnormalities, postural instability, and compensatory movement strategies due to joint pain, inflammation, and reduced neuromuscular control. These alterations negatively affect functional mobility and movement efficiency. Although gait retraining is commonly recommended in rehabilitation, objective evidence on its short-t…

- Background and objectives Preterm neonates undergo multiple painful procedures in neonatal intensive care units (NICU). It is difficult for nurses to utilise non-pharmacological pain control measures every time due to low nurse-patient ratio. Mother is a low-cost resource and can be integrated in management of neonatal pain. The current study was planned to compare maternal facilitated-tucking wi…
