  • Ultrasound Measurement of Plantar Fascia Thickness: A Learning Curve Analysis Between a Novice and an Expert Examiner. [Journal Article]
    Life (Basel). 2026 Jun 15; 16(6).García-Martínez MT, Llorens JM, … García-Gomariz CL
  • CONCLUSIONS: These findings suggest a progressive reduction in measurement differences between observers over time, consistent with a learning-related effect. However, the results should be interpreted as exploratory and do not constitute evidence of formal interobserver reliability. The findings highlight the potential importance of structured ultrasound training and supervised practice in improving agreement between observers in both clinical and educational settings.
  • Accelerated versus conventional radial pressure wave therapy for symptomatic calcaneal spur: A randomized clinical trial. [Journal Article]
    Rehabilitacion (Madr). 2026 Jun 23; 60(3):100997. [Online ahead of print]Çakı E, Şekir U, … Akova BR
  • CONCLUSIONS: Conventional and accelerated rPWT schedules resulted in similar short-term clinical improvements in patients with symptomatic calcaneal spurs. Under the conditions of this study, an accelerated protocol may allow completion of treatment within a shorter time frame without clear evidence of inferior clinical outcomes. These findings should be interpreted cautiously in light of methodological limitations, and further studies are needed to confirm long-term effects and optimal treatment scheduling.
  • The feasibility of a novel exercise therapy and activity modification intervention for patients with Sever's disease. [Journal Article]
Pilot Feasibility Stud. 2026 Jun 18. [Online ahead of print]Hanlon SL, Seymore KD, … Silbernagel KGPF
  • CONCLUSIONS: Our findings support that this exercise therapy and activity modification intervention is feasible, safe, and appropriate for the treatment of Sever's disease. Intervention satisfaction ratings and favorable global rating of change scores reported imply that educating patients to use a pain-monitoring model, allowing for modified physical activity, is not detrimental to patients with Sever's disease. A larger randomized controlled trial is warranted to evaluate the effectiveness of this intervention.
  • Versatile Use of the Free Anterolateral Thigh Flap in Pediatric Reconstruction: A Report of Two Cases. [Case Reports]
    Cureus. 2026 Jun; 18(6):e110911.Benlili M, Arreyouchi D, Oufkir AAC
  • Complex soft tissue defects in children require reconstructive solutions that are stable, adaptable, and compatible with long-term growth. The free anterolateral thigh flap offers several advantages in this setting because it can be tailored according to the defect, either as a durable resurfacing flap or as a source of vascularized tissue volume. We report two pediatric cases managed with a free…
  • 2025 Korean Guidelines for Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation: Part 7. Pediatric basic life support. [Guideline]
Clin Exp Emerg Med. 2026 May; 13(Suppl 1):S101-S114.Lee J, Kim DK, … Hwang SOCE
  • Pediatric cardiac arrest primarily arises from asphyxia in infants and trauma in older children, contrasting with adult etiologies dominated by cardiac events. This underscores prevention as the cornerstone of pediatric basic life support, through injury mitigation like child restraint systems and water supervision, safe sleep practices including supine positioning on firm surfaces with caregiver…
  • Pain Generators in Calcaneal Malunion: Evaluation of a Case Series With Mixed Treatment. [Journal Article]
    Cureus. 2026 May; 18(5):e108714.Gupta A, Sharma S, … Dhillon MC
  • Introduction Chronic heel pain secondary to malunited fractures of the calcaneus can be quite disabling in nature. The etiology of pain depends upon the modality of primary treatment (i.e., operative or nonoperative), as well as the quality of articular reduction. While a number of probable causes have been identified, none of these pain generators have been adequately researched. Methods A total…
  • A Stepwise Endovascular Approach to the Treatment of Refractory Plantar Fasciitis. [Journal Article]
    Healthcare (Basel). 2026 Jun 03; 14(11).Porcaro P, Punzi E, … Lombardi GH
  • Objectives: To assess the feasibility, safety, and clinical effectiveness of a response-guided, stepwise endovascular treatment strategy for patients with refractory plantar fasciitis. Methods: This single-center retrospective study included consecutive patients with chronic plantar fasciitis refractory to conservative therapy who were treated between January and June 2025. All patients initially…
  • Pregnancy-related transverse arch deformation: a subject-specific finite element analysis of the contributions of body weight and tissue stiffness. [Journal Article]
BMC Pregnancy Childbirth. 2026 Jun 10. [Online ahead of print]Li X, Lu Z, … Gu YBP
  • CONCLUSIONS: Within this single-subject static FE framework, gestational weight gain (W) and modelled reductions in passive tissue stiffness (K) influenced the tarsal transverse arch through distinct mechanical pathways. Increased W was more strongly associated with transverse widening, whereas lower modelled K was more closely related to vertical flattening and loss of arch curvature. Among the simulated conditions, the most pronounced model-predicted flattening occurred in the second trimester, consistent with the prescribed second-trimester minimum in K. These findings provide a mechanical interpretation of pregnancy-related transverse arch deformation and may help guide future studies of supportive exercise and footwear strategies.
