- A Comparison of the ABC and AIMS65 Scores in Predicting Outcomes in Patients with Acute Upper Gastrointestinal Bleeding: A Retrospective Multicenter Study. [Journal Article]Dig Dis Sci. 2026 May 12. [Online ahead of print]DD
- CONCLUSIONS: The ABC score demonstrates significantly superior predictive accuracy for in-hospital mortality compared to AIMS65 in patients with acute UGIB, with consistent advantages across secondary outcomes, pandemic periods, and cohort definitions. These findings support the preferential use of ABC score for risk stratification in clinical practice.

- Phosphoproteomics Profiling Reveals the Potential Regulating Targets for Intervening Muscle Softening of Shrimp L. vannamei during Refrigeration. [Journal Article]J Agric Food Chem. 2026 May 12. [Online ahead of print]JA
- Herein, the phosphorylation profiles of shrimp muscle proteins after chilling storage at 4 °C for 120 h were investigated by phosphoproteomics. A total of 1255 differential abundance phosphopeptides (DAPPs), encompassing 2128 phosphorylated sites in 608 phosphoproteins, were identified, and they were dominantly enriched in ultrastructure assembly and myofilament contraction of sarcomere architect…

- Heat Shock Affects Amino Acid Metabolism in Bovine Cumulus Cells and Denuded Oocytes During In Vitro Maturation. [Journal Article]Biology (Basel). 2026 Apr 27; 15(9).B
- Increased heat levels can affect follicle development, oocyte maturation, and bovine fertility by disrupting amino acid (AA) metabolism and oocyte competence. This study aimed to explore the effect of heat shock on AA metabolism in bovine cumulus cells (CCs) or denuded oocytes (DOs). CCs and DOs were separately cultured for 24 h in vitro at 38.5 °C (control group), 39.5 °C (moderate heat shock-CC…

- A Historical Review of Vasoactive Intestinal Peptide and Pituitary Adenylate Cyclase-Activating Polypeptide in Sepsis. [Review]Biology (Basel). 2026 Apr 22; 15(9).B
- The neuropeptides vasoactive intestinal peptide (VIP) and pituitary adenylate cyclase-activating polypeptide (PACAP) have emerged as potent modulators of immune responses during sepsis, yet their roles remain complex, alternating between protective and permissive depending on timing, tissue compartment, and inflammatory context. This review presents a historical assessment of VIP and PACAP in sep…

- CONCLUSIONS: ACET and BWSTT increased average median SBP in individuals with chronic motor-complete SCI, without significantly impacting BPV, AD, or hypotensive events. Future research should explore strategies to manage BPV for individuals with SCI in a free-living environment (i.e. real-world setting).

- Tinnitus is a serious medical and social problem of our time for many people, leading to significant psycho-emotional shock in some cases, disruption of social and professional adaptation. To date, there are several methods of treating tinnitus, the principle of which is based on pathogenetic concepts of brain neuroplasticity. The purpose of this work is to review existing tinnitus treatment meth…

- Effect of Rho Kinase Inhibitor RKI-1447 on Dexamethasone-Induced Ocular Hypertension and Its Molecular Mechanisms in Sprague-Dawley Rats. [Journal Article]Drug Des Devel Ther. 2026; 20:605489.DD
- CONCLUSIONS: Our data suggest that RKI-1447 is associated with reduced aqueous outflow resistance, potentially through its inhibitory effect on the RhoA/ROCK pathway and the subsequent mitigation of steroid-induced cytoskeletal and fibrotic alterations. These preliminary observations suggest that RKI-1447 may serve as a viable pharmacological approach for treating steroid-induced glaucoma, although further long-term safety and efficacy evaluations are warranted.

- CONCLUSIONS: In patients undergoing modified radical mastectomy, oliceridine used for anesthetic induction and perioperative analgesia significantly reduced the incidence and severity of PONV compared with sufentanil, while maintaining adequate analgesia and a favorable safety profile. Oliceridine may represent a safer opioid option in breast cancer surgery, with a lower burden of opioid related adverse events (ORADEs).
