  • The gender paradox of infertility: a comparative study of marital adjustment and sexual dysfunction in Bangladesh. [Journal Article]
Sex Med. 2026 Aug; 14(4):qfag040.Ahsan MS, Mubassara L, … Sansone ASM
  • CONCLUSIONS: A substantial "gender paradox" exists in infertility-related sexual health in Bangladesh, where men exhibit a significantly higher prevalence of sexual dysfunction than women. These findings highlight the necessity of integrating sexual medicine and psychological counseling into routine infertility management to improve both reproductive outcomes and marital quality. Strengths include the use of validated psychometric instruments and a relatively large, clinic-based sample. Limitations include cross-sectional design and reliance on self-report measures, which may limit generalizability and causal interpretation.
  • [Endocrine genesis of the development of menstrual cycle disorders in reproductive age]. [Journal Article]
Probl Endokrinol (Mosk). 2026 May 20; 72(2):108-115.Andreeva EN, Sheremetyeva EVPE
  • In recent decades, the Russian government has been committed to improving the country's demographic situation. Therefore, obstetricians and gynecologists pay special attention to women of reproductive age, whose reproductive system disorders can lead to infertility and the inability to conceive. Menstrual cycle disorders (MCDs) are a manifestation of various pathological conditions associated not…
  • Age-related female infertility: aetiological mechanisms and evidence-based and experimental interventions. [Review]
    Reprod Biomed Online. 2026 Apr 25; 53(2):105734. [Online ahead of print]Palomba S, Seminara G, … Aversa ARB
  • Age-related infertility has become the primary determinant of reproductive failure in modern societies due to a growing mismatch between biological and social fertility timelines. Accordingly, this review, adopting a uniquely holistic perspective, highlights the critical intersection between the demographic shift towards delayed parenthood and the physiological limitations of female reproductive …
  • Factors influencing abnormal cleavage of early embryos: time-lapse imaging analysis of 138,178 normally fertilized embryos. [Journal Article]
    Front Endocrinol (Lausanne). 2026; 17:1754938.Liu W, Shuai J, … Huang GFE
  • CONCLUSIONS: ABNCL is a common event during early embryo development and is significantly influenced by both patient characteristics and treatment strategies. Endometriosis, unexplained infertility, higher oocyte yield, ICSI, and rescue ICSI were associated with increased ABNCL risk, whereas mild stimulation and higher E2 levels on the trigger day appeared protective. These findings underscore the importance of individualized COS and fertilization strategies to promote optimal early embryo development in assisted reproductive technology; however, their implications are limited to cleavage-stage outcomes and should not be extrapolated to later developmental or clinical endpoints.
  • Meiotic gene variants contribute to recurrent blastulation failure. [Journal Article]
    Hum Reprod Open. 2026; 2026(3):hoag039.Chen X, Leng L, … Zheng WHR
  • CONCLUSIONS: Variants in meiotic genes may contribute to gamete-derived complex aneuploidy and impaired embryonic genome activation, which are strongly associated with recurrent blastulation failure in good-quality cleavage-stage embryos (R-GQBF).Direct evaluation of oocyte chromosomal integrity was not feasible. Larger cohorts may reveal additional genes, and functional studies in animal models are required to validate genotype-phenotype relationships. This study identifies biparental meiotic variants as an underrecognized cause of R-GQBF. Clinically, beyond routine extended embryo culture, chromosomal analysis should be recommended for etiological investigation. For couples experiencing recurrent complex aneuploidy in good-quality cleavage-stage embryos, genetic screening for meiotic variants may aid in diagnosis, counseling, and personalized treatment planning.
  • American Thyroid Association 2026 Guidelines for Thyroid Disease in Preconception, Pregnancy, and Postpartum. [Practice Guideline]
Thyroid. 2026 May; 36(5):481-544.Korevaar TIM, Leung AM, … Shan ZT
  • CONCLUSIONS: These 2026 ATA guidelines provide updated, evidence-based recommendations for the diagnosis and management of thyroid disease in women during preconception, pregnancy, and postpartum. While acknowledging that much of the evidence remains of low-to-moderate quality, these guidelines represent current best practices and consensus among international experts from different fields, offering an optimized framework for individualized patient care.
  • RBM46 promotes meiotic initiation during oogenesis. [Journal Article]
Biochem Biophys Res Commun. 2026 May 28; 827:154058. [Online ahead of print]Li J, Shen J, … Zhou JBB
  • RNA binding protein RBM46, as an integral component of MEIOC-YTHDC2 complex, governs the RNA binding specificity in posttranscriptional regulation of male meiotic initiation. RBM46 is also indispensable for embryonic oocyte development in mice. However, the precise phenotypic consequences and underlying regulatory mechanisms of RBM46 in female germ cells remain largely uncharacterized. Here, we d…
