- EFFORT study: Surgery vs assisted reproductive technology among women with deep endometriosis - A multicenter randomized controlled trial. [Journal Article]Eur J Obstet Gynecol Reprod Biol. 2026 Aug 03; 326:115350. [Online ahead of print]EJ
- CONCLUSIONS: No significant difference in reproductive outcomes was revealed between surgery and ART among women with rectosigmoid endometriosis. However, the study population was small and underpowered, meaning the findings are uncertain and conclusions difficult to draw. The trial was registered at ClinicalTrials.gov (no. NCT04610710).

- In Vitro Fertilization and VACTERL Birth Defects. [Journal Article]JAMA Netw Open. 2026 Aug 03; 9(8):e2629355.JN
- CONCLUSIONS: This population-based prospective cohort study identified an association of IVF with the multiple congenital anomaly pattern VACTERL. Although the absolute risk among live births remains low, these findings highlight the need for further investigations of child health outcomes by method of conception.

- The recently published World Health Organization (WHO) infertility guideline introduces a global approach to infertility care with significant implications for male reproductive health. This review examines the male infertility components of the WHO guideline and compares them with those from the American Urological Association/American Society for Reproductive Medicine (AUA/ASRM), European Assoc…

- The association between etiology of azoospermia and sperm retrieval success rate on male patient in Indonesia: a multi-centre study. [Journal Article]Arch Ital Urol Androl. 2026 Aug 07; :14921. [Online ahead of print]AI
- CONCLUSIONS: This study demonstrates that azoospermia etiology significantly influences sperm retrieval outcomes, with post-testicular azoospermia showing the most favorable results. These findings emphasize the importance of accurate etiological assessment to guide clinical decision-making, optimize patient counseling, and improve fertility management in azoospermic patients.

- A Swanson's caring theory-based intervention to reduce infertility-related stress and improve coping strategies in women and their partners undergoing assisted reproductive treatment (ART): a randomized controlled trial. [Randomized Controlled Trial]Arch Womens Ment Health. 2026 Aug 19; 29(5).AW
- CONCLUSIONS: Supportive care grounded in Swanson's Caring Theory may reduce infertility-related stress and influence coping responses among couples undergoing ART treatment. Although increases were observed in active and meaning-based coping, coping patterns were not uniformly adaptive across all domains and treatment stages. The findings support the potential value of integrating structured supportive care into routine IVF services; however, exploratory findings related to unsuccessful ART outcomes should be interpreted with caution. Trial registration ClinicalTrials.gov NCT07557069 (retrospectively registered).

- Microplastics and nanoplastics are ubiquitous across global environments and can bioaccumulate through food chains, arousing concerns over their links to rising rates of male infertility. Relevant literature was retrieved from PubMed, Web of Science Core Collection and Scopus, and eligible original human, animal and cell studies were screened and analyzed. Epidemiological data confirm microplasti…

- Comparison of Birth Weight Outcomes Between Donor Sperm and Partner Sperm in Fresh Embryo Transfer Cycles: A Single-Center Clinical Cohort Study. [Journal Article]Andrology. 2026 Aug 18. [Online ahead of print]A
- CONCLUSIONS: This study found that the babies born in the donor sperm cycles have higher birth weights than the use of partner sperm from males with oligoasthenozoospermia in fresh embryo transfer cycles, but there were no significant differences in LGA, SGA, HBW, and LBW. The research results suggest that we should pay attention to the safety issues of donor sperm. It is necessary to conduct further research to determine whether the cause of the increased birth weight is the sperm freezing technology or the factors of the male donors who provided the sperm.

- Heat shock proteins in male infertility: recent advances and clinical implications. [Review]
- The decline in male sperm quality has become a global concern for male reproductive health. Research indicates that heat stress is an important external factor that contributes to male infertility, potentially promoting germ cell apoptosis, disrupting redox balance, and affecting proteostasis. Recently, a growing body of research has demonstrated an association between heat stress-related protein…

- Seminal exosome protection of frozen human spermatozoa: homologous versus heterologous treatment. [Journal Article]Reprod Biomed Online. 2025 Dec 27; 53(4):105445. [Online ahead of print]RB
- CONCLUSIONS: These findings support the beneficial role of n-EXO in enhancing cryopreservation outcomes for both N and OAT spermatozoa. Interestingly, o-EXO exerted adverse effects on N spermatozoa but demonstrated a protective effect on OAT spermatozoa, contrary to initial expectations. The observed improvements with homologous treatments highlight the potential of using seminal exosomes as an alternative approach to the traditional removal of seminal plasma, reinforcing the importance of preserving key components of the seminal environment during freezing. Consequently, seminal exosomes could potentially serve as cryoprotectant additives to optimize sperm cryopreservation procedures.

- Preimplantation genetic testing for male factor infertility: lights and shadows. [Review]
- CONCLUSIONS: Available evidence, often based on heterogeneous and old-fashioned methodologies, suggests that MFI may impair embryonic development, particularly in terms of fertilization rate and blastulation rate, more than embryo euploidy; however, a comprehensive evaluation of MFI should be integrated into clinical practice in the context of couple infertility, to also optimize the efficiency and outcomes of ART. Promising results emerged from sperm DNA fragmentation as a tool to predict embryo euploidy, but further investigations involving larger sample sizes and improved standardization are required.
