- Efficacy and Safety of Electroacupuncture for Postoperative Insomnia in Patients With Spinal Metastasis: Protocol of a Prospective, Multicenter, Randomized Controlled Study. [Journal Article]JMIR Res Protoc. 2026 Jun 08; 15:e81489.JR
- CONCLUSIONS: This study is designed to rigorously assess the therapeutic value of electroacupuncture for postoperative insomnia in patients with SM. If proven effective, electroacupuncture is expected to become a safe and feasible alternative or complementary therapy for this population, reducing reliance on hypnotic drugs and improving patients' quality of life and prognosis. The results will fill the gap in current clinical evidence for electroacupuncture in the treatment of spinal metastatic postoperative insomnia and provide a basis for the optimization of clinical treatment strategies.

- The use of menopause hormone therapy in borderline ovarian tumor survivors: a systematic review and meta-analysis. [Review]Climacteric. 2026 Jun 08; :1-11. [Online ahead of print]C
- CONCLUSIONS: Evidence on the MHT-BOT association is heterogeneous and inconsistent. Although a statistical association was observed between combined MHT and increased odds of BOTs, postsurgical safety data are limited and overall certainty of evidence is very low; findings warrant considerable caution. Current literature is insufficient to confirm or exclude an association between MHT and BOT recurrence or survival. Indications for MHT after BOT surgery require individualized, multidisciplinary discussion involving oncology and menopause specialists, balancing quality-of-life benefits against unquantified theoretical risks.

- Deciphering Sleepless Nights: Nocturia Analyzed Through a CART-Based Predictive Model in Patients With Insomnia. Retrospective Data From the TUCSON Study. [Journal Article]Neurourol Urodyn. 2026 Jun 08. [Online ahead of print]NU
- CONCLUSIONS: This study is the first to investigate clinical and polysomnographic predictors of nocturia within a select insomnia population. While exploratory CART modeling allowed the identification of potential non-linear relationships and clinically relevant subgroups, its predictive performance was limited and inferior to logistic regression after internal validation. Although FUSP was not consistently retained across resampled models, its role as a potential contributor to nocturia remains of interest and warrants further investigation in larger, well-defined cohorts.

- Melatonin and sleep: Exploring its role in regulating the circadian rhythm and sleep-wake cycle. [Review]J Family Med Prim Care. 2026 Mar; 15(3):1057-1062.JF
- Sleep is a vital physiological process essential for maintaining overall health, supporting cellular repair, immune regulation, and cognitive functions. Sleep disruptions are associated with adverse health outcomes, including cardiovascular diseases, metabolic disorders, and impaired mental health. Sleep regulation is orchestrated by the circadian rhythm and homeostatic sleep drive, with melatoni…

- Non-pharmacological sleep management in breast cancer survivors: Evidence from a systematic review and meta-analysis of RCTs. [Review]Prev Med Rep. 2026 Jul; 67:103511.PM
- Objective: Breast cancer is the most commonly diagnosed cancer among women worldwide. Although survival rates have improved through advances in screening and treatment, many survivors continue to experience chronic sleep disturbances that impair quality of life. This review synthesizes evidence from randomized clinical trials evaluating non-pharmacological interventions for sleep management in br…

- Real-world evaluation of attention deficit hyperactivity disorder symptoms and side effects in patients prescribed serdexmethylphenidate/dexmethylphenidate or other stimulants. [Journal Article]Front Pharmacol. 2026; 17:1769333.FP
- CONCLUSIONS: In this single-center retrospective analysis of patient surveys, patients with ADHD taking SDX/d-MPH reported reduced frequency of insomnia compared to AMP ER and LDX, and lower frequency of end-of-dose crash compared to AMP ER. This real-world tolerability analysis highlights the importance of considering side effects in ADHD treatment.

- Characteristics of mental health needs following the 2024 Noto Peninsula Earthquake: Comparison with the 2016 Kumamoto Earthquake. [Journal Article]PCN Rep. 2026 Jun; 5(2):e70336.PR
- CONCLUSIONS: The NPE was characterized by a higher proportion of older adults and more frequent depression, suicidal ideation, flashbacks, and behavioral problems. Records on or after Day 79 indicate DPAT-involved consultations in a later post-disaster phase, although persistent needs and delayed reach of support could not be distinguished.

- Prevalence and Clinical Correlates of Psychiatric Disorders in a Hispanic-Majority Inflammatory Bowel Disease Cohort. [Journal Article]Cureus. 2026 May; 18(5):e108438.C
- CONCLUSIONS: Psychiatric disorders are highly prevalent among IBD patients in a county health system, affecting nearly half of the cohort. The IBD-related hospitalization was associated with psychiatric comorbidity in univariate analysis and showed a non-significant trend in multivariable analysis. The results point to the value of coordinated, team-based care models tailored to the needs of underserved communities.

- Prevalence and Associated Risk Factors for Anxiety, Depression, and Insomnia Among University Students in Bangladesh: A Cross-Sectional Study. [Journal Article]Health Sci Rep. 2026 Jun; 9(6):e72309.HS
- CONCLUSIONS: The findings reveal that Bangladeshi university students experience alarmingly high rates of anxiety, depressive symptoms, and insomnia, with female, married, and chronically ill students particularly vulnerable. Protective factors such as having siblings and a higher BMI were identified. From a clinical perspective, the results underscore the value of early and regular prescreening in university settings, combined with intervention studies to evaluate preventive and therapeutic strategies. Universities and policymakers should prioritize accessible counseling, awareness campaigns, and early screening programs tailored to the demographic risk groups identified in this study.
