- Scrub Typhus-Associated Inflammatory Oligoarthritis Mimicking Tubercular Arthritis in an Endemic Setting. [Case Reports]Cureus. 2026 Apr; 18(4):e106318.C
- Scrub typhus is a common cause of acute febrile illness in endemic regions; however, musculoskeletal involvement is usually limited to myalgia, and true inflammatory arthritis is rarely reported. We describe a 19-year-old previously healthy male military recruit who presented with a two-month history of progressive bilateral knee swelling and left ankle pain, accompanied by fever, weight loss, an…

- Clinical Characteristics, Imaging Findings and Outcomes in Neonatal Septic Arthritis: A Tertiary NICU Experience. [Journal Article]Children (Basel). 2026 Apr 01; 13(4).C
- CONCLUSIONS: Neonatal septic arthritis is associated with a substantial risk of osteomyelitis and early sequelae. Delayed recognition may worsen outcomes. Normal ultrasonographic findings should not exclude the diagnosis when clinical suspicion persists, and MRI may provide complementary information for timely management.

- Case Report: Arthroscopic synovectomy and loose body removal for charcot knee in an adolescent with congenital insensitivity to pain with anhidrosis. [Case Reports]Front Surg. 2026; 13:1767073.FS
- Charcot neuroarthropathy (CN) of the knee in adolescents with congenital insensitivity to pain with anhidrosis (CIPA) is exceptionally rare and presents unique diagnostic and therapeutic challenges. We present the case of a 13-year-old girl with genetically confirmed CIPA and a two-year history of recurrent knee swelling, effusion, and functional limitation. Imaging revealed intra-articular loose…

- Ultrasonographic evaluation of FMF patients with exertional leg pain: an overlooked component of the disease. [Journal Article]Rheumatology (Oxford). 2026 May 05; 65(5).R
- CONCLUSIONS: Paediatric FMF patients with ELP demonstrated increased achilles tendon thickness. Although no standardized cut-off exists for tendinopathy, this may reflect tendon structural changes related to ELP. Moreover, FMF patients, particularly those with ELP, exhibited inter-attack knee effusions which may serve as a marker for subclinical inflammation. Larger longitudinal cohorts are needed to define ELP, elucidate its underlying pathways and clarify the clinical significance of Achilles tendon thickening.

- Three-dimensional radiotherapy target volume definitions for osteoarthritis - Consensus statement of the International Benign Target Volume Group (IBTVG). [Journal Article]Int J Radiat Oncol Biol Phys. 2026 Apr 22. [Online ahead of print]IJ
- CONCLUSIONS: This international consensus statement provides practical guidance for a standardized three-dimensional target volume definition in the radiotherapy of OA. Accurate knowledge of joint anatomy and pathology, combined with precise target volume delineation and careful consideration of the clinical context, such as symptom distribution and the pattern of joint involvement, may support more consistent LDRT treatment planning for OA. These target volume definitions also provide a structured basis for future clinical studies and further clinical validation.

- Internal Brace Augmentation Versus Standard Anterior Cruciate Ligament Reconstruction: A Comparative Clinical Study in Young Active Patients. [Journal Article]Cureus. 2026 Mar; 18(3):e105570.C
- CONCLUSIONS: Internal brace augmentation ACLR provides early functional outcomes, knee stability, and complication rates comparable to standard ACLR, with the added benefit of a significantly earlier return to sports. These findings support internal brace augmentation as a safe and effective option for young, active ACL rupture patients, while longer-term studies are warranted.

- Differentiating Clinical Presentations of Lyme Arthritis, Septic Arthritis, Toxic Synovitis, and Other Inflammatory Joint Pathologies. [Journal Article]J Pediatr Orthop. 2026 Apr 15. [Online ahead of print]JP
- CONCLUSIONS: As Lyme disease continues to spread, clinicians will increasingly encounter patients with LA. Clinicians must differentiate between LA and similar pathologies to ensure appropriate treatment and avoid unnecessary interventions. Key differentiating variables, such as anatomic location, CRP, and ESR, can aid in diagnosis, though there are limitations. Clinicians can use this information to guide treatment decisions for these patients.

- Preoperative and postoperative risk factors for arthrogenic muscle inhibition in anterior cruciate ligament reconstruction: A retrospective study. [Journal Article]Knee Surg Sports Traumatol Arthrosc. 2026 Apr 14. [Online ahead of print]KS
- CONCLUSIONS: AMI affects approximately one-third of patients undergoing ACLR and may persist for at least three months postoperatively. Distinct preoperative and postoperative risk factors were identified, with preoperative AMI strongly predicting its persistence. Joint effusion and specific meniscal lesions appear to act as preoperative triggers, whereas cartilage damage and sex may influence postoperative evolution. Early identification and management of modifiable risk factors, particularly before surgery, may help optimize rehabilitation and limit the persistence of AMI after ACLR.

- Diagnostic Accuracy of Ultrasonography for Knee Pathologies: A Prospective Comparative Study With MRI. [Journal Article]Cureus. 2026 Mar; 18(3):e104751.C
- Background Knee joint pathologies are a common cause of orthopedic consultation, with many requiring imaging. Magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) is considered the non-invasive imaging reference standard with superior soft tissue resolution. However, it is expensive and time-consuming. High-resolution ultrasonography (HRUS), on the other hand, provides high soft tissue resolution for superficial str…

- CONCLUSIONS: Lateral synovial fold impingement should be considered in the differential diagnosis of delayed-onset lateral knee pain following medial UKA in patients with preserved implant integrity. Arthroscopic synovial resection with osteophyte removal is a minimally invasive and effective treatment option that can resolve symptoms without compromising the prosthesis.

- Delayed diagnosis of hemophilia A presenting as chronic joint swelling: a case report. [Case Reports]Front Pediatr. 2026; 14:1752234.FP
- CONCLUSIONS: This case emphasizes that pediatric hemophilia may mimic arthritis and underscores the essential role of thorough history-taking in identifying subtle bleeding tendencies. We recommend including coagulation tests in children with unexplained persistent joint swelling, especially in boys, before initiating treatment for JIA. This strategy helps reduce the risk of misdiagnosis and prevents harmful interventions.

- Anterior Cruciate Ligament (ACL) injuries in the knee are common orthopedics injuries, affecting patients of various ages and activity levels. Now-a-days use of quadriceps tendon (QT) autograft has been steadily increasing for ACL reconstruction. This Prospective interventional study was conducted in the Department of Orthopedic Surgery, Bangladesh Medical University (BMU), Bangladesh from March …
