- Yellow Nail Syndrome in Childhood: A Case Report Highlighting Diagnostic Challenges and the Possible Role of Nail Development-Related Genetic Variants. [Journal Article]Skin Appendage Disord. 2026 Jul 11. [Online ahead of print]SA
- CONCLUSIONS: This case highlights the diagnostic difficulty of pediatric YNS in the absence of the complete classical triad. YNS should remain in the differential diagnosis of children with unexplained nail dystrophy and recurrent extremity edema, even when systemic and genetic evaluations are inconclusive.

- Association between sentinel lymph node number and prognosis in cT1-2N0M0 early breast cancer patients with negative sentinel lymph nodes: a single‑center retrospective cohort study. [Journal Article]Ann Med. 2026 Dec; 58(1):2717950.AM
- CONCLUSIONS: In this retrospective negative‑SLN cohort, the number of SLNs excised was not significantly associated with 5‑year survival or short‑term axillary complications, suggesting that removing 1-3 SLNs may be sufficient in this patient population.

- CONCLUSIONS: These findings indicate systemic hematological difference likely linked to chronic immune activation, highlighting the importance of integrating hematological monitoring and targeted health education into podoconiosis prevention and management strategies. Future studies should also explore the link between blood alterations and disease severity.

- [Giant Scrotal Elephantiasis as a Septic Focus in Generalized Lymphedema: Radical Resection Following Initial Suspicion of Malignancy]. [Journal Article]Aktuelle Urol. 2026 Aug 14. [Online ahead of print]AU
- This case report describes a rare and clinically highly complex constellation of massive scrotal elephantiasis, generalized lymphedema, and septic deterioration, which initially raised the suspicion of a malignant soft tissue tumor. The report highlights the diagnostic pitfalls associated with extreme scrotal enlargement, the nuanced decision-making regarding timing and extent of surgical interve…

- Reduction and discontinuation of compression therapy after lymphaticovenular anastomosis for upper extremity lymphedema. [Journal Article]J Plast Reconstr Aesthet Surg. 2026 Aug 03; 121:131-138. [Online ahead of print]JP
- CONCLUSIONS: LVA was associated with stage-specific modification of compression therapy. Early-stage patients are more likely to achieve complete discontinuation, whereas advanced-stage patients more likely achieved partial reduction. Furthermore, reduction in compression burden may contribute to improved quality of life. These findings support a stage-adapted treatment strategy for LVA in upper extremity lymphedema.

- Sustained benefit of compression therapy for preventing recurrent leg cellulitis: extended follow-up of a randomised controlled trial. [Journal Article]
- Recurrent cellulitis causes substantial morbidity, healthcare use, and repeated antibiotic exposure. Chronic oedema is a key modifiable risk factor for incident and recurrent cellulitis, yet preventive strategies targeting oedema remain underused. Our randomised controlled trial previously demonstrated that compression therapy reduced cellulitis recurrence, leading to early trial cessation for ef…

- De-escalating the axilla: oncologic and morbidity outcomes of targeted axillary dissection versus axillary lymph node dissection following neoadjuvant systemic therapy in clinically node-positive breast cancer within a single institution. [Journal Article]
- CONCLUSIONS: In cN1 patients treated with NST, TAD was associated with significantly lower rates of lymphedema and upper extremity morbidity compared to ALND, while also demonstrating higher pathologic and axillary complete response rates. These key findings emphasize the benefit of selective axillary de-escalation with TAD, supporting its role in reducing treatment-related morbidity while maintaining oncologic safety.

- CONCLUSIONS: Male patients with lower extremity lymphedema may demonstrate superior treatment responses compared to female patients. However, high BMI was associated with poorer response following upper extremity VLNT, thereby underlining the importance of preoperative weight loss. Age showed no consistent association with postoperative outcomes. However, future research is required to validate these preliminary results.

- Custom-Made Compression Elastic Garments for Vascular Anomalies and Edematous Disorders: Objective and Subjective Outcomes in a Multi-Institutional Clinical Series. [Journal Article]
- Background/Objectives: Compression therapy serves as first-line conservative management for low-flow vascular malformations and Klippel-Trénaunay syndrome (KTS). However, ready-made garments are frequently ill-fitting for patients with limb overgrowth, asymmetry, deformity, or heterogeneous body habitus. Custom-made compression elastic garments offer an individualized solution, yet systematic dat…
