- Liubao tea as a functional fermented food: multi-omics insights into its modulation of lymphatic endothelial cell metabolism. [Journal Article]Front Nutr. 2026; 13:1759992.FN
- CONCLUSIONS: This study reveals that LBT may ameliorate LEC dysfunction in lymphedema by targeting PRKCB to disrupt the bidirectional "inflammation-metabolism" vicious cycle. These findings provide a scientific basis for the use of LBT as a functional fermented food in lymphedema intervention and open new avenues for targeting PRKCB with natural products in the treatment of inflammation-related lymphatic diseases.

- Breast Edema in Women With Arm Lymphedema Following Breast-Conserving Surgery: A Systematic Review. [Review]Cureus. 2026 May; 18(5):e108129.C
- Breast edema is a clinically significant but underrecognized complication following breast-conserving surgery (BCS) and radiotherapy. It involves parenchymal and cutaneous changes that can cause pain, functional impairment, and reduced quality of life. Despite overlapping risk factors and shared lymphatic pathophysiology with breast cancer-related lymphedema (BCRL), breast edema remains poorly de…

- GLP-1 Receptors Are Enriched in the Lymphatic Endothelium and Their Pharmacological Activation With Semaglutide Improves the Pumping Capacity of Lymphatic Vessels. [Journal Article]Microcirculation. 2026 Jul; 33(5):e70070.M
- CONCLUSIONS: Our results revealed a direct, beneficial effect of GLP-1R agonism on lymphatic pumping capacity mediated by robust vasodilation, allowing lymphatics to accommodate and displace larger fluid volumes while maintaining strong and highly efficient contractions.

- Geographical disparities and programmatic determinants of hydrocele surgery and lymphoedema management coverage for lymphatic filariasis in the Democratic Republic of the Congo, 2018-2024: A national analysis of routine programme data. [Journal Article]PLoS Negl Trop Dis. 2026 Jun 02; 20(6):e0014406. [Online ahead of print]PN
- CONCLUSIONS: LF-related morbidities remain a substantial and unevenly addressed public health burden in the DRC, including in provinces that have achieved or are approaching interruption of transmission. Strengthening and scaling up morbidity management and disability prevention services-particularly for lymphoedema and hydrocele-are essential to improve patient quality of life and to meet World Health Organization requirements for elimination of lymphatic filariasis as a public health problem.

- Comparative analysis of breast cancer-related lymphedema after autologous and implant-based reconstruction: emphasizing differences between prepectoral and subpectoral placement of implant. [Journal Article]J Plast Surg Hand Surg. 2026 Jun 02; 61:146-152.JP
- CONCLUSIONS: Autologous reconstruction demonstrated the most favorable lymphatic outcomes, supporting prior literature. Among implant-based approaches, prepectoral placement was associated with a milder course of BCRL than subpectoral placement, possibly due to decreased postoperative pain and shoulder restriction. These findings suggest that reconstruction type and implant placement plane may influence BCRL severity and should be considered when planning surgery to reduce complications and optimize long-term outcomes.

- Efficacy of complete decongestive therapy in phlebolymphedema: What is the impact of disease stage and BMI on treatment response? [Journal Article]Phlebology. 2026 Jun 02; :2683555261458164. [Online ahead of print]P
- ObjectivePhlebolymphedema is a progressive condition caused by combined venous and lymphatic dysfunction. Although complete decongestive therapy (CDT) is widely used in clinical practice, objective evidence regarding its effectiveness across different disease stages is limited. This study aimed to evaluate the short-term effectiveness of CDT in patients with lower extremity phlebolymphedema and t…

- Lymphedema of the Breast Following Partial Mastectomy and Oncoplastic Reduction. [Journal Article]Lymphatics. 2026 Jun; 4(2).L
- Breast lymphedema is characterized by skin thickening/swelling of the breast and is common following partial mastectomy and radiation. Oncoplastic reduction performed during partial mastectomy removes additional breast tissue compared to partial mastectomy alone to optimize breast contour. Recent literature has suggested oncoplastic reduction in patients with macromastia undergoing breast-conserv…

- Critical role of keratinocytes and protease-activated receptor 2 in secondary lymphedema development. [Journal Article]Clin Transl Med. 2026 Jun; 16(6):e70682.CT
- CONCLUSIONS: Our findings suggest that lymphedema is a chronic inflammatory skin disease, and topically targeting keratinocyte inhibition may be a clinically effective therapy for this condition.

- Patient preferences for managing chronic breast cancer-related lymphedema in China: evidence from a discrete choice experiment. [Journal Article]BMC Health Serv Res. 2026 Jun 01. [Online ahead of print]BH
- CONCLUSIONS: This study suggests that patients with cBCRL place the greatest importance on treatment cost, followed by functional improvement and treatment method. Incorporating patient preferences into survivorship care through affordable, function-oriented, and patient-centred management strategies may help improve the alignment of care with patients' values and priorities. However, because these findings reflect stated preferences under hypothetical scenarios, the real-world effects of reducing out-of-pocket costs on treatment uptake, adherence, and clinical outcomes require further study.

- Digital exercise interventions to improve physical functioning of people with breast cancer: Protocol for a scoping review. [Journal Article]PLoS One. 2026; 21(6):e0350300.Plos
- Breast cancer incidence rates are rising due to early detection, improved screening methods and advances in treatment options. As mortality rates reduce, there is a growing population living longer with treatment side-effects who require assistance. Prevalent issues arising after breast cancer treatment include pain, fatigue, lymphoedema and arm and shoulder mobility issues. Evidence demonstrates…

- Aquaporin-1 sustains lymphangiogenic responses in hyperosmotic inflammatory microenvironments. [Journal Article]J Exp Med. 2026 Jul 06; 223(7).JE
- Intestinal lymphatic vessels are essential for dietary lipid absorption and immune cell trafficking. Villus lymphatic capillaries, lacteals, undergo continuous VEGF-C-dependent renewal to function in a hyperosmolar, inflammatory environment exposed to dietary and microbial by-products. To define mechanisms underlying this adaptation, we integrated new and published single-cell RNA-sequencing data…
