  • Vascularized Lymphatic Tissue Transfer for Treatment of Lower Limb Lymphedema: Does the Recipient Site Matter? [Journal Article]
    J Surg Res. 2026 May 04; 323:58-70. [Online ahead of print]Lindenblatt N, Brugger L, … Uyulmaz SJS
  • CONCLUSIONS: Limb volume reduction in VLNT varies depending on the recipient site. In PLE, a multilevel approach showed higher volume reduction without an increase in complication rates and might thus be favored. Single-level proximal and multilevel insets showed similar outcomes in our small SLE cohort, indicating that a single-level approach may be adequate, although validation in larger studies is required.
  • Remote Monitoring of Bioelectrical Impedance in Patients With Breast Cancer-Related Lymphedema: 1-Year Pilot Longitudinal Study. [Journal Article]
    JMIR Biomed Eng. 2026 May 05; 11:e86624.Bravi L, Teranishi-Hashimoto C, … Koehler LAJB
  • CONCLUSIONS: Home-based segmental bioimpedance provides reliable longitudinal data and reveals granular fluid patterns not captured by conventional ISL staging alone. The significant impact of diurnal variation, particularly in relation to limb dominance, underscores the need for standardizing measurement protocols. Standardizing home-based measurements to a fixed monitoring time can minimize physiological noise and enhance the interpretability of long-term self-monitoring strategies for breast cancer survivors.
  • Prophylactic Surgery for Gynecologic Cancer-Related Lower Extremity Lymphedema. [Journal Article]
Plast Reconstr Surg. 2026 May 05. [Online ahead of print]Jeong HH, Kwon JG, … Hong JPPR
  • CONCLUSIONS: Prophylactic LNVA performed concurrently with gynecologic cancer surgery was associated with a markedly reduced incidence of lower extremity lymphedema over an average of 2-year period. This preventive strategy may improve patient outcomes by mitigating LEL, a frequent and life-long complication of cancer treatment.
  • Keratinocytes: A key player in skin immunity and their emerging roles in secondary lymphedema. [Review]
    JID Innov. 2026 Jul; 6(4):100471.Chen X, Kuonqui K, … Kataru RPJI
  • Keratinocytes, once viewed as inert epidermal scaffolds, are now recognized as active participants in the cutaneous immunity. They orchestrate local immune responses by releasing cytokines, chemokines, and alarmins that shape innate and adaptive inflammation. Dysregulated keratinocyte-immune interactions underline chronic inflammatory skin disorders, such as atopic dermatitis, psoriasis, and cuta…
  • Lymphatic Abnormalities in Noonan Syndrome Extend Beyond Clinically Apparent Disease. [Journal Article]
Am J Med Genet A. 2026 May 03. [Online ahead of print]Sheyanth IN, Kelly B, … Hjortdal VEAJ
  • Lymphatic disease represents a well-described manifestation of Noonan syndrome (NS), yet the full phenotypic spectrum remains incompletely characterized, especially in asymptomatic individuals. We conducted a cross-sectional study including 10 individuals with NS (four with peripheral lymphedema and six without) and 10 age- and sex-matched cardiovascularly healthy controls. Central lymphatic anat…
