- Effects of Resistance Training on Breast Cancer-Related Lymphedema: A Meta-Analysis. [Review]Arch Rehabil Res Clin Transl. 2026 Jun; 8(2):100607.AR
- CONCLUSIONS: RT is a safe and effective intervention that significantly reduces the risk and severity of BCRL while improving limb volume, lymphatic function, and shoulder mobility. For optimal benefit in clinical practice, progressive RT should be delivered using a "short-duration, high-frequency" model integrated into combined therapy protocols.

- When Unilateral Leg Swelling Is Not Deep Vein Thrombosis: A Case of Disseminated Kaposi Sarcoma Revealing Advanced Human Immunodeficiency Virus. [Case Reports]Cureus. 2026 May; 18(5):e109176.C
- Kaposi sarcoma (KS) is an acquired immunodeficiency syndrome (AIDS)-defining malignancy that can involve the skin, lymph nodes, and visceral organs in patients with advanced human immunodeficiency virus (HIV). We report the case of a 35-year-old man with no known prior medical history who presented to the charity care clinic complaining of recurrent thrush and two weeks of progressive right lower…

- Pulmonary Embolism Associated With Pneumomediastinum and Pneumoperitoneum After Laparoscopic Myomectomy: A Case Report and Literature Review. [Case Reports]Cureus. 2026 May; 18(5):e109340.C
- Laparoscopic surgery is a common technique with a minimal risk of consequences for the treatment of gynecological conditions, including uterine leiomyomas. However, in rare instances, serious postoperative complications may occur. We present the case of a 51-year-old patient who underwent a laparoscopic myomectomy without intraoperative complications. The patient experienced acute dyspnea shortly…

- [Research progress of lymphaticovenous anastomosis in treatment of severe extremity trauma]. [Review]Zhongguo Xiu Fu Chong Jian Wai Ke Za Zhi. 2026 Jun 15; 40(6):990-994.ZX
- CONCLUSIONS: LVA exhibits important clinical application potential in the treatment of severe extremity trauma, and can serve as an effective method for clinically controlling limb swelling caused by post-traumatic lymphatic stasis. In the future, research should focus on the early therapeutic application of LVA for extremity trauma, clarify its optimal intervention timing and indications, optimize the treatment regimen by combining with traditional detumescence measures, so as to further enhance its clinical value in the treatment of severe extremity trauma.

- CONCLUSIONS: PAI provides a promising approach for precise diagnosis and perioperative management of limb lymphedema. However, large-scale prospective studies and standardized imaging protocols are required to validate its long-term clinical value.

- Exploring quality of life and physical-physiological characteristics in obese patients with and without lipedema: insights from the LipObes study. [Journal Article]BMC Womens Health. 2026 Jun 20. [Online ahead of print]BW
- CONCLUSIONS: This cross-sectional study highlights the complex nature of lipedema, providing preliminary evidence of differences in quality of life and distinct body composition and physical and physiological characteristics between patients with obesity with and without lipedema. These results emphasize the need for further research to identify diagnostic biomarkers for lipedema through in-depth investigations. Future studies should also focus on developing and optimizing a multidisciplinary treatment approach tailored to the unique characteristics of patients with lipedema.

- A focused systematic review and meta-analysis of robot-assisted inguinal lymphadenectomy versus open inguinal lymph node dissection in penile cancer. [Systematic Review]
- This focused systematic review and meta-analysis evaluated robot-assisted inguinal lymphadenectomy (RAIL) versus open inguinal lymph node dissection (OILND) in penile cancer, aiming to provide robot-specific comparative estimates rather than a broad minimally invasive synthesis. PubMed, EMBASE, Web of Science, and the Cochrane Library were searched through December 2025 for comparative studies. A…

- The Utility of Ultrasound in the Management of Lipedema: Preoperative, Intraoperative, and Postoperative Applications. [Journal Article]
- CONCLUSIONS: Ultrasound has the potential to become an integral component of modern lipedema management. Its applications extend beyond diagnosis to encompass surgical planning, intraoperative guidance, and postoperative surveillance. The increasing availability of portable, high-resolution ultrasound devices may further facilitate its routine incorporation into clinical practice, ultimately contributing to safer procedures, more personalized treatment strategies, and improved long-term outcomes for patients with lipedema.

- Development and internal validation of a risk prediction model for ipsilateral upper-limb lymphedema following breast cancer surgery. [Journal Article]Front Oncol. 2026; 16:1823165.FO
- CONCLUSIONS: We developed and internally validated a clinically practical nomogram for predicting BCRL using four readily available variables. The model showed strong discrimination, acceptable calibration, and potential clinical utility. Pending external validation, this tool should be regarded as a supportive risk-stratification aid rather than a stand-alone clinical decision-making instrument, and it may help identify patients who warrant closer surveillance, preventive counseling, or early rehabilitation referral.

- Scrotal elephantiasis secondary to hidradenitis suppurativa: a rare case report. [Case Reports]Front Med (Lausanne). 2026; 13:1867933.FM
- CONCLUSIONS: Scrotal elephantiasis secondary to hidradenitis suppurativa is an exceptionally rare complication reflecting advanced lymphatic destruction. Early recognition and timely surgical intervention are essential to restore function and quality of life. This case highlights that even biologic therapy may not prevent progression to end-stage lymphatic disease in refractory HS.

- Breast Cancer-related Lymphedema: A Comparative Ultrasound Study of Shear Wave Elastography and B-mode Measurements for Assessing Lymphaticovenous Anastomosis. [Journal Article]Eur J Breast Health. 2026 Jul; 22(3):10.EJ
- CONCLUSIONS: Postoperative increased in dermal stiffness and soft tissue thickness were not intuitive. Potential confounders that could explain this result include increased patient weight or variability in sonographic technique. The increasing trend for subcutaneous stiffness is noted in the literature and may be due to underlying chronic fibrosis. Additional research is warranted to clarify the role of SWE and B-mode measurements in lymphedema assessment.
- Angioedema Presenting as Infant-Onset Primary Lymphedema. [Journal Article]J Vasc Anom (Phila). 2026 Sep; 7(3).JV
- Primary lymphedema typically manifests as extremity swelling that is chronic, progressive, and incurable. We present a patient with four-limb and facial swelling who was referred for a possible diagnosis of primary lymphedema. The patient eventually was diagnosed with idiopathic spontaneous angioedema. This case highlights distinguishing characteristics between the two disease processes and the i…

- The health and economic burden of podoconiosis in East Africa: A systematic review and meta-analysis of health outcomes with narrative synthesis of economic evidence. [Journal Article]PLoS Negl Trop Dis. 2026 Jun 17; 20(6):e0014427. [Online ahead of print]PN
- CONCLUSIONS: Podoconiosis imposes a substantial but profoundly under-quantified burden across East Africa, with disease intensity disproportionately concentrated in Ethiopian highland communities. The near-complete absence of DALY and economic burden data outside Ethiopia represents a critical evidence gap. Standardised nationally representative surveys, expansion of burden modelling beyond Ethiopia, and advocacy for inclusion of podoconiosis in the Global Burden of Disease study are urgently needed to support evidence-based policy and resource prioritisation across the region. This systematic review was registered in the PROSPERO International Prospective Register of Systematic Reviews with the registration number: CRD42023432640.
