  • CONCLUSIONS: Relative to the NCAP group, the CAP group exhibited better cognitive function, lower cortical E/I balance, lesser negative symptoms, and greater mood symptoms. Cannabis resumption was associated with relapse, highlighting its role in illness recurrence. Together, these results raise the possibility that cannabis-associated psychosis is a distinct subtype of first-episode psychosis. Given the increasing rates of psychosis related to cannabis, further studies are needed to examine its long-term trajectory and refine treatment approaches.
  • Bipolar Disorder Incidence During Pregnancy and in the Postpartum Period: A Population-Based Study. [Journal Article]
    Bipolar Disord. 2026 Jun; 28(4):e70122.Bergink V, Mægbæk ML, … Munk-Olsen TBD
  • CONCLUSIONS: Pregnancy appears to be a low-risk period for bipolar disorders, but we confirmed a well-described peak in severe episodes postpartum. Across the entire perinatal period we, however, found an overall lower incidence of bipolar diagnosis compared to the background female population. Earlier studies have described a significant bipolar diagnostic delay after psychiatric episodes in the postpartum, and we encourage increased focus on timely diagnosis.
