- Desiderosmia-Associated Iron Deficiency: A Case Report and Review of the Literature. [Case Reports]Cureus. 2026 Apr; 18(4):e106380.C
- Iron deficiency is the most common cause of anemia worldwide, yet desiderosmia remains rarely described as one of its manifestations. The term "desiderosmia" was first proposed in a case series by Hansen et al. to describe compulsive olfactory cravings for specific scents observed in three symptomatic patients with iron deficiency, derived from the Latin word "desiderare" for desire and the Greek…

- Prevalence of Heavy Menstrual Bleeding in Adolescents with Mullerian Anomalies: A 10-Year Single-Center Retrospective Cohort Study. [Journal Article]J Pediatr Adolesc Gynecol. 2026 Apr 30. [Online ahead of print]JP
- CONCLUSIONS: The prevalence of HMB in adolescents with Mullerian anomalies in this cohort was 43% but varied by subtype. Understanding the prevalence of HMB in patients with specific Mullerian anomalies will allow clinicians to provide improved anticipatory guidance for this patient population.

- Uterine and Sigmoid Colon Perforation Following Hysteroscopy-Guided Microwave Endometrial Ablation (MEA) in a Patient With a Bicornuate Uterus and Multiple Myomas: A Case Report. [Case Reports]J Obstet Gynaecol Res. 2026 May; 52(5):e70293.JO
- In Japan, the microwave endometrial ablation system (MEA, Microsulis PLC, Waterlooville, UK) is the most widely used device for endometrial ablation and is considered a minimally invasive, uterus-preserving treatment for menorrhagia. Although MEA is generally safe, uterine and/or bowel perforation can occur as a rare but serious complication. We report a case of uterine and sigmoid colon perforat…

- Successful pregnancy following two-stage hysteroscopic myomectomy in women with diffuse uterine leiomyomatosis: a case report and literature review. [Case Reports]Front Med (Lausanne). 2026; 13:1762409.FM
- Diffuse uterine leiomyomatosis is frequently misdiagnosed, highlighting the need to improve awareness and understanding of this rare condition. We report a case of a 29-year-old nulliparous woman presenting with menorrhagia who was diagnosed with diffuse uterine leiomyomatosis and underwent a two-stage hysteroscopic myomectomy. She subsequently conceived naturally and delivered a healthy full-ter…

- MRI-Based Classification Systems Combined with Serum CA125 for Predicting Symptom Recurrence After Ultrasound-Guided High-Intensity Focused Ultrasound Ablation Surgery for Adenomyosis: A Retrospective Cohort Study. [Journal Article]Int J Womens Health. 2026; 18:575413.IJ
- CONCLUSIONS: A preoperative CA125 level ≥35 U/mL combined with MRI-based lesion extent ≥2/3 uterine wall involvement may effectively identify adenomyosis patients at high risk of post-FUAS recurrence. Further prospective studies are warranted.

- Possible therapeutic effects of Plantago major in women with high menstrual bleeding: A systematic review of randomized clinical trials. [Review]Avicenna J Phytomed. 2026 Mar-Apr; 16(2):35-47.AJ
- CONCLUSIONS: The extracts of P. major seeds and leaves may enhance hematological parameters and reduce both the mean and severity of menstrual bleeding; however, the clinical significance of these findings necessitates further assessment in future trials.

- Successful full-term pregnancy after bilateral uterine artery embolization for a large intracavitary submucosal fibroid: A case report. [Case Reports]Case Rep Womens Health. 2026 Jun; 50:e00806.CR
- Uterine artery embolization is an established treatment for symptomatic fibroids, yet concerns persist regarding reproductive outcomes, particularly with intracavitary submucosal lesions. The current report describes the case of a 31-year-old woman who presented with severe menorrhagia and transfusion-dependent anemia. Investigations, including pelvic magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), demonstrate…

- Relugolix combination therapy in symptomatic adenomyosis and uterine fibroids: a case series. [Journal Article]Gynecol Endocrinol. 2026 Dec 31; 42(1):2659439.GE
- CONCLUSIONS: Relugolix/estradiol/norethisterone acetate combination therapy was effective, well-tolerated, and associated with consistent clinical and sonographic improvement in women with adenomyosis and coexisting fibroids. Future larger-scale, controlled studies with extended follow-up are warranted to validate these findings.
