- Immunotherapy of malignant melanoma using T cell-activating microbeads. [Journal Article]J Immunol. 2026 Aug 04; 215(8).JI
- Metastatic disease is the prime cause of death from many malignancies. Due to the multiple different lesions and the increased aggressiveness of the cancer cells, metastatic disease is often difficult to treat. Here, the introduction of immune checkpoint blockers (ICBs) has greatly helped to improve patients' prognosis by harnessing antitumor immunity, particularly anticancer T cells in multiple …

- Post-Diagnostic Red Meat, Poultry, and Egg Intake and Risk of Prostate Cancer Progression and Mortality: A Systematic Review. [Review]J Urol. 2026 Aug 17; :101097JU0000000000005263. [Online ahead of print]JU
- CONCLUSIONS: Evidence linking post-diagnostic intake of red meat, poultry, and eggs with prostate cancer progression remain limited and inconsistent, while stronger statistical evidence was observed for ACM. Prostate cancer progression risk may be specific to preparation methods (e.g., poultry with skin) and higher egg intake (>3-5 servings/week), while replacing red meat with skinless poultry or fish may offer clinical benefit. Additional well-designed prospective studies are needed.

- Multiple Radioiodine-avid Skin Metastases From Thyroid Carcinoma Detected on Posttherapy 131I SPECT/CT. [Journal Article]Clin Nucl Med. 2026 Aug 12. [Online ahead of print]CN
- A 77-year-old man with papillary thyroid carcinoma had received radioactive iodine therapy for metastatic disease 8 years earlier and subsequently achieved remission. He represented with rising serum thyroglobulin levels, and biopsy of newly detected cutaneous lesions confirmed metastatic disease. Posttherapy 131I SPECT/CT after 200 mCi demonstrated multiple radioiodine-avid cutaneous metastases …

- Postoperative cutaneous metastasis of breast cancer with phenotypic conversion to triple-negative subtype: A case report. [Case Reports]Medicine (Baltimore). 2026 Aug 14; 105(33):e50166.M
- CONCLUSIONS: This case underlines re-biopsy importance. Conversion to a triple-negative phenotype necessitates complete change in systemic therapy. Phenotypic conversion may first manifest in lymph node metastases before becoming clinically evident in cutaneous lesions.

- Prognostic Impact of Detection Patterns, Reasons for Consultation, and Sex Differences in Melanoma Among Young Adults: A 30-Year Retrospective Cohort Study. [Journal Article]Int J Dermatol. 2026 Aug 13. [Online ahead of print]IJ
- CONCLUSIONS: In young adults, melanoma prognosis is strongly linked to detection pathway, consultation triggers, and sex. Earlier professional evaluation, especially in young men and in lesions with high-risk features, may reduce advanced disease and years of life lost.

- Distant Cutaneous Metastasis of Chordoma: A Systematic Review and Individual-Participant-Data Meta-Analysis of 52 Cases, with an Illustrative Poorly Differentiated Index Case. [Systematic Review]
- CONCLUSIONS: Distant cutaneous chordoma metastasis is a late event that usually signals disseminated disease and a limited life expectancy, commonly months to a few years. Its recognition rests on integrating morphology with nuclear brachyury and, in epithelioid or young presentations, SMARCB1/INI1. We provide a differential-diagnostic framework and algorithm, distinguishing cohort-supported findings from expert interpretation.

- Immunosuppression Outweighs Clinical AEIOU Heuristics in Predicting Disease Progression of Merkel Cell Carcinoma: A Retrospective Cohort Study. [Journal Article]Acta Derm Venereol. 2026 Aug 12; 106.AD
- Merkel cell carcinoma (MCC)is a rare but aggressive cutaneous malignancy with increasing incidence and poor prognosis. Host immune status is a key determinant of MCCmerkel cell carcinoma development and outcome. While the AEIOU criteria are widely used to facilitate clinical recognition, their value for prognostic assessment remains unclear. To evaluate the association between individual AEIOU pr…

- Breast skin ulceration in de novo metastatic breast cancer: incidence, predictors, and patterns of occurrence. [Journal Article]
- CONCLUSIONS: Breast skin ulceration in de novo MBC is an uncommon event that primarily reflects aggressive inflammatory tumor behavior rather than inadequate locoregional management. Secondary BSU is exceptionally rare and confined to inflammatory tumors. Systematic routine surgical intervention solely to prevent ulceration appears unjustified in non-inflammatory disease.

- Circ17399 RNA promotes melanoma progression through the miR-150-3p/ITM2C Axis and ALKBH5-mediated FOXM1 m6A modification. [Journal Article]
- CONCLUSIONS: Circ17399 promotes melanoma progression by competitively binding miR-150-3p to upregulate ITM2C and recruiting ALKBH5 to reduce m6A methylation of FOXM1, enhancing its stability and oncogenic function. These findings unveil a dual-axis regulatory mechanism in SKCM pathogenesis and position circ17399 as a promising diagnostic biomarker and actionable therapeutic target for melanoma intervention.

- CONCLUSIONS: This study provides a comprehensive real-world comparison of the safety profiles of docetaxel, nintedanib, and their combination, identifying distinct toxicity patterns and clinically important adverse reactions. These findings may facilitate individualized safety monitoring and optimize toxicity management in patients with NSCLC.

- Shear-Activated von Willebrand Factor Captures Extracellular Vesicles to Promote Platelet Activation and Metastasis. [Journal Article]J Extracell Vesicles. 2026 Aug; 15(8):e70349.JE
- Plasma proteins are increasingly recognized as key regulators of extracellular vesicle (EV) behaviour in circulation. However, von Willebrand factor (vWF)-the largest multimeric glycoprotein in blood and the only blood protein activated by shear-has received little attention in this context. Under elevated shear stress, vWF transitions from a compact globular form to an extended adhesive conforma…

- Primary angiosarcoma of the breast is an uncommon and aggressive vascular malignancy that typically affects young women and poses diagnostic and therapeutic challenges. We report the case of a 26-year-old nulliparous woman who presented with progressive left breast swelling over approximately 18 months. Clinical examination revealed diffuse tender swelling without skin discoloration, nipple chang…

- Numerous studies have reported the biological activities of tilapia skin oligopeptides, which exhibit diverse physiological effects. However, research on the relationship between peptide structural characteristics and their activities remains relatively scarce. In this study, we combined computational simulations with biological experiments to investigate the anti-metastatic mechanism of the tila…
