  • Bilateral Nasolabial Cysts: A Rare Clinical Entity. [Case Reports]
Cureus. 2026 Apr; 18(4):e106866.Shetty D, Singh AP, … Kumar DC
  • Nasolabial cysts are rare non-odontogenic, extraosseous cystic lesions that commonly present as unilateral submucosal masses in the nasolabial fold, accounting for 0.7% of all non-odontogenic cysts. These lesions are a form of retention cyst. Bilateral presentations are extremely rare. They are typically slow-growing, painless swellings that cause cosmetic deformity and nasal obstruction. Diagnos…
  • A Rare Case of Colon Adenocarcinoma Metastases to the Trachea: A Case Report. [Case Reports]
Cureus. 2026 Apr; 18(4):e106857.Page AS, Wall NM, Neumann MRC
  • Primary tracheal malignancies are rare, and nonpulmonary metastasis to the trachea is exceedingly rare. Computed tomography (CT) imaging may not detect small or submucosal lesions, especially if performed without contrast. We present a rare case of metastasis of colorectal adenocarcinoma to the trachea and left mainstem bronchus 10 years after the initial cancer diagnosis. A 75-year-old man prese…
  • AI chatbots for health information seeking among Chinese patients with precancerous ENT lesions: a descriptive qualitative study. [Journal Article]
    BMJ Open. 2026 May 12; 16(5):e102637.Huang Y, Liang Q, … Yu RBO
  • CONCLUSIONS: Among this sample of Chinese patients with precancerous ENT lesions, AI-driven chatbots were perceived as a convenient and conversational supplementary source of health information. Participants valued their accessibility and interactional ease, but also indicated that their usefulness depended partly on users' ability to formulate effective prompts. Some participants additionally perceived chatbots as a more comfortable channel for asking sensitive or basic questions. The findings suggest that AI chatbots may have a complementary role in patient information support, but further research is needed to evaluate response accuracy, safety and appropriate integration into clinician-led care.
  • Exploratory inflammatory profiles in patients with depressive disorders and a history of cancer considering alcohol consumption. [Journal Article]
    Gen Hosp Psychiatry. 2026 May 07; 100:303-309. [Online ahead of print]Vinais T, Plansont B, … Lacroix AGH
  • CONCLUSIONS: These findings suggest that distinct inflammatory pathways may characterize cancer history and alcohol abstinence in patients with AUD and depressive disorders. IL-8 and TNF-α may represent candidate biomarkers associated with cancer-associated inflammation and alcohol abstinence status, respectively. Given the small cancer subgroup, these results should be interpreted as exploratory and hypothesis-generating. Future studies integrating genetic, epigenetic, and molecular markers are needed to refine these associations and support personalized approaches.
  • Risk factors for olfactory dysfunction after transsphenoidal pituitary adenoma resection: A systematic review and meta-analysis. [Review]
    J Clin Neurosci. 2026 May 13; 151:112081. [Online ahead of print]Jia M, Cui G, … Luo CJC
  • CONCLUSIONS: Postoperative olfactory dysfunction after transsphenoidal pituitary adenoma surgery was associated with multiple patient-related, surgical, and postoperative management factors. Because most pooled estimates were derived from unadjusted data and several comparisons included few studies, these findings should be interpreted cautiously. Further prospective studies using standardized olfactory assessment and adjusted analyses are needed to clarify clinically relevant factors.
