- Salinity stress and drought stress differentially affect biomass allocation, leaf orientation and performance of two sesame (Sesamum indicum L.) cultivars. [Journal Article]
- CONCLUSIONS: Salinity and drought stresses, at equivalent water potentials, differentially affect sesame growth, gas exchange, leaf orientation, photosynthetic pigments and carbohydrate fractions in a genotype-dependent pattern. Among the two investigated sesame cultivars, Shnd seems more stress-tolerant than Sohg. The present findings, obtained from a hydroponic sand culture under partially protected conditions, needs further evaluation under field conditions employing wider collection of genotypes.

- CONCLUSIONS: Hurricane Helene significantly altered orthopedic injury patterns in Augusta, Georgia, with increased incidence of high-energy trauma, open fractures, and tree- and chainsaw-related injuries treated at a level I trauma center. There also was a decrease in surgical site infections and postoperative complications.

- CONCLUSIONS: CCA among psychiatric outpatients is closely associated with broad emotional and somatic symptom burdens and decreased resilience. Instead of representing an isolated environmental concern, CCA may reflect underlying affective and physiological vulnerabilities exacerbated by cumulative exposure to climate-related stressors. These findings underscore the clinical relevance of climate-related distress and highlight the need for longitudinal studies and targeted interventions among vulnerable populations.
