- Attenuated Salmonella typhimurium VNP20009 L-forms suppress tumor growth and metastasis by inhibiting TGF-β1/Snail/Vimentin pathway in murine lung cancer. [Journal Article]Eur J Pharmacol. 2026 Aug 18; :179240. [Online ahead of print]EJ
- CONCLUSIONS: Attenuated ST L-forms can effectively inhibit tumor growth and metastasis in mouse lung cancer by inducing apoptosis and suppressing TGF-β1/Snail/Vimentin pathway. Our study represented a promising application strategy for improving the therapeutic efficacy of bacterial-mediated tumor therapy by using attenuated S. typhimurium VNP20009 L-forms.

- Infrared Thermography as a Clinical Clue to Eccrine Angiomatous Hamartoma in a Child. [Journal Article]J Dermatol. 2026 Aug 18. [Online ahead of print]JD
- Eccrine angiomatous hamartoma is an uncommon benign cutaneous hamartoma characterized by proliferation of eccrine and vascular components. It usually presents at birth or in childhood as a solitary extremity lesion and may be associated with pain, tenderness, hypertrichosis, or hyperhidrosis. We report a 6-year-old boy with a recurrent warm, hyperhidrotic subcutaneous tumor on the lateral aspect …

- Nocardiosis is an uncommon infection that presents as a chronic, debilitating illness with radiographic manifestations simulating lung cancer or tuberculosis. Immunocompromised hosts may develop a fulminant disease resembling acute bacterial pneumonia or disseminated disease. We report a case of a juvenile lupus who developed disseminated Nocardia pseudobrasilienisis infection in form of necrotiz…

- A Case Report of Childhood Polyarteritis Nodosa: A Rare Vasculitic Disorder with Multisystem Involvement. [Review]
- CONCLUSIONS: This case highlights the need for high clinical suspicion of cPAN in children presenting with multisystem symptoms and characteristic cutaneous findings. Early diagnosis supported by established criteria and prompt corticosteroid therapy, combined with multidisciplinary care, can significantly improve outcomes and reduce long-term morbidity.

- Combination of PD-1 inhibitor and chemotherapy for subcutaneous soft-tissue metastasis in postoperative non-small cell lung cancer: A case report. [Case Reports]
- CONCLUSIONS: This case suggests that combining chemotherapy with programmed cell death protein 1 inhibition may provide rapid and effective tumor control in advanced non-small cell lung cancer patients with bulky, symptomatic metastases, while maintaining a manageable safety profile. Further clinical trials are warranted to validate this approach.

- Idiopathic radial artery pseudoaneurysm: A rare case in a renal transplant recipient - A case report. [Case Reports]
- Distal radial artery pseudoaneurysm is an uncommon vascular abnormality, usually occurring after trauma or iatrogenic arterial injury. Spontaneous cases are rare and have been reported primarily as isolated case reports in the general population. To our knowledge, no other published reports describe this presentation, especially within a dermatologic context among solid organ transplant recipient…

- CONCLUSIONS: VVM-SV is a distinct clinicopathological entity frequently misdiagnosed, leading to inappropriate treatment. Accurate diagnosis relies on clinicopathological correlation, recognizing its subcutaneous location and minimal flow. Surgical excision is the definitive curative treatment.

- CONCLUSIONS: Negative IGRA-related tests should not be used to exclude active TB in immunosuppressed patients. Persistent fever, weight loss, pulmonary lesions, lymphadenopathy, or granulomatous inflammation should prompt repeat microbiological testing before escalation of immunosuppression.

- Multiple Subcutaneous Nodules Caused by Plant Fungus Thyridium flavostromatum in an Immunocompromised Patient. [Case Reports]Am J Trop Med Hyg. 2026 Aug 11. [Online ahead of print]AJ
- Thyridium flavostromatum is a newly discovered species of plant fungus identified from the host plant Phyllostachys pubescens. It is a type of ascomycetes that has yellowish stromata and gets the name "flavostromatum." Immunocompromised patients are infected with rare and opportunistic fungal infections. We here present a case of multiple subcutaneous tender nodules caused by T. flavostromatum in…

- Angiomatoid fibrous histiocytoma (AFH) is an uncommon fibrohistiocytic neoplasm of intermediate malignant potential that most often arises in the subcutaneous tissues of children and young adults. Involvement of the neck is unusual, and its clinical and radiological appearance may overlap with nodal or soft-tissue malignancy. Papillary thyroid carcinoma is the most common thyroid malignancy and c…

- Carcinoid syndrome refers to the signs and symptoms a patient experiences secondary to a carcinoid tumor or another well-differentiated neuroendocrine tumor, which secretes serotonin and other peptides that enter the bloodstream; only 10% of patients with carcinoid tumors experience carcinoid syndrome. Common findings include facial flushing, tachycardia, and shortness of breath. Carcinoid tumors…
