    Front Med (Lausanne). 2026; 13:1862964.Podoļanskis J, Nevidovska K, … Kalnbērza LFM
  • CONCLUSIONS: This case highlights the importance of considering crusted scabies in patients presenting with erythroderma, pruritus, and hyperkeratotic or scaly lesions and supports the integration of clinical assessment with parasitological examination, particularly skin scrapings, to reduce the risk of misdiagnosis and facilitate timely management. This is particularly relevant in primary care and general practice settings, where initial management decisions are often made. Knowledge of various scabies manifestations, especially its erythrodermic presentation, could further improve disease management and control, particularly in endemic and resource-limited areas.
