- A MOF-in-MOF nanoplatform for photothermal/chemodynamic therapy that enhances antitumor immunity through targeted suppression of the COX-2/PGE2 axis. [Journal Article]J Nanobiotechnology. 2026 May 18. [Online ahead of print]JN
- To address the therapeutic limitations and metabolic toxicity associated with conventional nanocarriers, a nanostructure using an "MOF-in-MOF" strategy was engineered. The comprises an olsalazine (Olsa)-based copper metal-organic framework (Olsa-MOF) that integrates intrinsic anti-inflammatory properties and enhanced chemodynamic performance. This Olsa-MOF template is integrally enveloped by a tu…

- MBene nanozyme orchestrates antibacterial and osteoimmune responses for synergistic therapy of methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus-infected osteomyelitis. [Journal Article]Acta Biomater. 2026 May 17. [Online ahead of print]AB
- The deep-seated location of methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA)-induced osteomyelitis within the host, combined with insufficient antibiotic penetration into bone and the capacity of MRSA to form biofilms, may render conventional therapies ineffective. A promising alternative is chemodynamic therapy (CDT), which locally generates cytotoxic hydroxyl radicals. However, the efficacy o…

- An HSP90-inhibitory thermosensitive hydrogel enhances photothermal therapy against triple-negative breast cancer. [Journal Article]Colloids Surf B Biointerfaces. 2026 May 12; 266:115807. [Online ahead of print]CS
- Triple-negative breast cancer (TNBC) is highly aggressive and prone to recurrence, and durable therapeutic efficacy is often difficult to achieve with monotherapy. Photothermal therapy (PTT) offers advantages such as minimal invasiveness and spatiotemporal controllability and induces tumor cell death through localized hyperthermia. However, thermal stimulation simultaneously activates protective …

- Photothermal-immunotherapy enhances antitumor efficacy and modulates the tumor immune microenvironment in anaplastic thyroid carcinoma. [Journal Article]J Photochem Photobiol B. 2026 May 13; 280:113471. [Online ahead of print]JP
- A combination of rapid disease progression and insufficient therapeutic options continues to complicate the clinical management of anaplastic thyroid carcinoma (ATC). The antitumor effect of photothermal therapy (PTT) arises from heat generated in situ, leading to tumor cell damage. However, its therapeutic efficacy is constrained by insufficient tissue penetration and inadequate immune activatio…

- Efficacy and safety of aspirin for primary prevention in adults with elevated lipoprotein(a) or genetic susceptibility via LPA gene variants: a systematic review and meta-analysis. [Journal Article]Eur J Prev Cardiol. 2026 May 15. [Online ahead of print]EJ
- CONCLUSIONS: Among adults without ASCVD but with elevated Lp(a) or high-risk LPA genotypes, aspirin use did not confer a statistically significant cardiovascular benefit and was associated with numerically higher bleeding risk. The apparent reduction seen in rs3798220 carriers was inconsistent and likely reflects small-sample bias.

- Acoustic delivery of indocyanine green via biosynthetic gas vesicles for tumor photothermal therapy. [Journal Article]PLoS Biol. 2026 May; 24(5):e3003786.PB
- Photothermal therapy (PTT) serves as a complementary strategy to conventional cancer treatments. Indocyanine green (ICG) is the only U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA)-approved photothermal agent. However, its clinical application is hindered by poor stability, short blood half-life, and lack of tumor targeting. Herein, we developed biosynthetic gas vesicles (GVs) covalently conjugated with …

- Biomimetic nanozyme mitigates thermal damage in photothermal therapy by targeted disruption of tumor metabolism. [Journal Article]Colloids Surf B Biointerfaces. 2026 May 07; 266:115791. [Online ahead of print]CS
- Thermal damage to surrounding healthy tissues poses a challenge in photothermal therapy (PTT) due to the limited targeting efficiency. Here, we report the development of the membrane-functionalized low-temperature photothermal nanozymes M@Au@ZPC (MAZ), thereby mitigating the adverse effects of thermal spillage through simultaneously increasing targeting distribution and decreasing photothermal te…

- Advancements and challenges in blood pressure monitoring using pulse wave propagation: a comprehensive review and ISO 81060-2 based statistical analysis. [Review]
- Cardiovascular diseases, particularly hypertension, remain a major global health burden, highlighting the need for accurate and accessible blood pressure (BP) monitoring. Cuffless BP measurement (BPM) based on pulse wave propagation methods (PWPM), including pulse arrival time (PAT), pulse transit time (PTT), and pulse wave velocity (PWV), has attracted increasing research interest. This review c…

- Temperature-Dependent Residual Stress and Optical Properties of Asymmetric W-Doped VO2-Based Trilayer Thin Films. [Journal Article]Materials (Basel). 2026 Apr 15; 19(8).M
- This study aims to reduce the phase transition temperature (PTT) of W-doped vanadium dioxide (VO2) multilayer thin films. We designed and fabricated two asymmetric multilayer thin film structures; namely, TiO2/VO2-5%W/ITO and ITO/VO2-5%W/TiO2. The W-doped VO2-based Trilayer thin films were deposited using an electron beam evaporation combined with the ion-assisted deposition (IAD) technique. An e…

- Association between respiratory event-specific oxygen desaturation rate and blood pressure surge in obstructive sleep apnea. [Journal Article]Sci Rep. 2026 May 03. [Online ahead of print]SR
- To investigate the association between respiratory event-specific oxygen desaturation rate (ODR) and blood pressure (BP) surges in patients with obstructive sleep apnea (OSA). Oxygen desaturation events caused by apnea and hypopnea were analyzed to quantify ODR, representing the rate of oxygen consumption. Beat-to-beat systolic blood pressure was recorded using a pulse transit time (PTT)-based te…

- Association of radiographic foot alignment measurements with posterior tibialis tendon, spring ligament, and deltoid ligament tears. [Journal Article]
- CONCLUSIONS: Forefoot abduction measured by TU, as well as medial longitudinal arch collapse measured by Meary's angle and C-5MT, is associated with PTT complete tear versus non-tear or partial tear. Meary's angle, DA, and C-5MT also demonstrated implications for superficial DL status. Additional research with larger sample sizes will be helpful to clarify the statistical tendency of association between SL and TU.
