- Case Report: Unusual inferonasal peripheral retinal involvement in ocular toxoplasmosis: a case report with diagnostic and therapeutic implications. [Case Reports]Front Immunol. 2026; 17:1884073.FI
- CONCLUSIONS: Ocular toxoplasmosis can present as atypical peripheral retinal lesions, which is easily confused with acute retinal necrosis and other diseases in clinical practice. Definitive diagnosis can be made by combining pet exposure history, laboratory pathogen testing, and characteristic imaging manifestations. Standard anti-parasitic combined with anti-inflammatory therapy can achieve favorable prognosis.

- Thyroid Nodules of Uncertain Malignant Potential Non-Conforming to World Health Organization Diagnostic Criteria - Clinicopathologic and Molecular Characterization of 39 Cases. [Journal Article]Hum Pathol. 2026 Aug 18; :106239. [Online ahead of print]HP
- Thyroid tumors of uncertain malignant potential (UMP) are recognized by the World Health Organization (WHO) as tumors of borderline malignancy, encompassing follicular tumor of uncertain malignant potential (FT-UMP) and well-differentiated tumor of uncertain malignant potential (WDT-UMP). Tumors classified as UMP have questionable capsular invasion (CI) and/or angioinvasion (AI); however, biologi…

- Severe Tricuspid Regurgitation: Traumatic Papillary Muscle Rupture Mimicking Infective Endocarditis-A Case Report. [Case Reports]Am J Case Rep. 2026 Aug 16; 27:e952267.AJ
- BACKGROUND Differentiating traumatic tricuspid regurgitation (TR) from infective endocarditis (IE) is clinically crucial in patients presenting with abnormal tricuspid valve findings after blunt chest trauma. Particularly, papillary muscle rupture caused by trauma can produce mobile valvular structures that closely resemble vegetations, making accurate diagnosis challenging in the acute setting. …

[Journal Article]Parasitol Int. 2026 Aug 11; 116:103366. [Online ahead of print]PI
- An integrative reassessment of Tetrancistrum polymorphum (Paperna, 1972) Kritsky, Galli & Yang, 2007 (Monogenoidea: Dactylogyridae) was conducted based on specimens collected from the gills of Siganus luridus (Rüppell) (Acanthuriformes: Siganidae) from the Egyptian Red Sea. Although this species has been previously reported and morphologically described using light microscopy, its ultrastructural…

- Artificial intelligence empowers full-stack histopathological diagnosis and prognosis of renal cell tumor: a multi-center study with external validation. [Multicenter Study]
- CONCLUSIONS: We developed and validated a comprehensive AI framework integrating tissue-region detection, renal tumor subtype classification, nuclear grading, and survival prediction. These findings support its potential as a decision-support tool for renal tumor pathology, while prospective workflow-based studies are warranted to determine its clinical utility and impact on pathologist performance.

- Gamma Knife Radiosurgery for Brain Metastasis from Primary Thyroid Cancer. [Journal Article]Turk Neurosurg. 2026; 36(4):524-530.TN
- AIM: To analyze the efficacy and safety of Gamma Knife radiosurgery (GKRS) in the management of thyroid cancer brain metastases (TCBM). MATERIAL and METHODS: This retrospective study analyzed patients who underwent GKRS for TCBM at two centers between September 2005 and February 2025. Patients' clinical and radiological outcomes, including local tumor control and overall follow-up, were investiga…

- Tools and Techniques of Endoscopic Radiofrequency Ablation in Pancreaticobiliary Diseases: A Narrative Review. [Review]
- CONCLUSIONS: Taken together, the available data support endoscopic RFA as a useful adjunct in the multidisciplinary management of pancreaticobiliary disease, but most of the supporting literature consists of small, single-arm, or retrospective series. Prospective, ideally randomized, studies with standardized energy protocols and longer follow-up are needed before the technique's role in routine practice, particularly for pancreatic cystic lesions and IPMN, can be considered settled.

- Diagnostic Pitfall in Cardiac Angiosarcoma: Initial Misdiagnosis as Masson Tumor Due to Sampling of Necrotic Tissue. [Case Reports]Reports (MDPI). 2026 Jun 25; 9(3).R
- Background and Clinical Significance: Cardiac and mediastinal angiosarcomas are rare, aggressive malignancies that often present with nonspecific symptoms and pose significant diagnostic challenges. Tumor heterogeneity and necrosis may lead to false-negative biopsy results; Case Presentation: We report a 64-year-old man who initially presented with cardiac tamponade of unclear etiology. Despite a…

- [Clinicopathological and molecular features of acquired cystic kidney disease and associated renal cell carcinoma]. [Journal Article]
- CONCLUSIONS: ACKD is a common complication in ESRD patients undergoing dialysis. In our cohort, ACKD-RCC was predominantly characterized by papillary architecture histologically with oxalate crystals in all cases. Immunohistochemically, P504S and CK7 were positive. Regardless of secondary occurrent tumor, atypical renal cysts were present in all ACKD cases in this study. NGS detected PIK3CA and SETD2 (Tier Ⅱ) variants in 2 RCC patients, respectively, accompanied by coagulative necrosis and advanced pathological stage, which may indicate a poor prognosis. This study suggests that imaging screening for RCC should be strengthened in young and middle-aged male ESRD patients with long-term dialysis, and adequate sample examination should be performed to detect potentially precancerous lesions, such as atypical renal cysts. The prognosis of ACKD-RCC requires comprehensive analysis combining clinicopathological and molecular genetic features.

- A rare case of multiple papillary cystadenomas found in a female patient with von Hippel-Lindau syndrome. [Case Reports]Int J Clin Exp Pathol. 2026; 19(6):261-266.IJ
- Papillary cystadenoma (PC) is a benign epithelial tumor believed to be of mesonephric origin and is recognized as one of von Hippel-Lindau syndrome (VHL)-related neoplasms. PC tends to develop frequently in male VHL patients but rarely in females and arises from the mesosalpinx or broad ligament in females. Having experienced a case of multiple PCs in a female patient, we here report it with lite…

- Thyroid carcinoma brain metastases: radiosurgery outcomes and genomic characterization across histologic subtypes. [Journal Article]J Clin Neurosci. 2026 Oct; 152:112184.JC
- CONCLUSIONS: SRS provides durable local control with acceptable toxicity in patients with TCBM. Despite the small cohort size, these findings support SRS as an effective and safe treatment modality. Larger, prospective studies are warranted to better define prognostic factors and optimize patient selection.
