- Pain and safety outcomes of different anesthetic techniques in hypospadias surgery: a network meta-analysis of randomized clinical trials. [Systematic Review]
- Optimal regional anesthesia for pediatric hypospadias repair remains controversial, with inconsistent evidence regarding postoperative pain control and complication rates. This study aimed to compare the effectiveness and safety of pudendal nerve block (PNB), penile block (PB), caudal block (CB), and general anesthesia (GA) using a network meta-analysis;Methods: A systematic search of PubMed, Emb…

- Postoperative Management After Penile Fracture Surgery: Intra-operative Drainage Is Not Associated With Early Morbidity Reduction (FRACT AFUF project). [Journal Article]Fr J Urol. 2026 Aug 14; :103181. [Online ahead of print]FJ
- CONCLUSIONS: Intraoperative drainage was not associated with reduced early morbidity and was associated with a longer hospital stay and more sexual pain at 1 month. Although these findings do not support the routine use of drains after penile fracture repair, our study does not exclude a potential benefit in selected complex cases. Drain use should therefore be tailored to intraoperative findings.

- Penile Metastasis as a First Manifestation of Metastatic Castrate-Resistant Prostate Cancer: A Case Report and Review of Management Challenges. [Case Reports]
- CONCLUSIONS: Penile metastasis from prostate cancer is rare but an aggressive entity with a median survival ranging from 6 to 18 months. Penile metastasis shall be in the differentials when patients present with priapism, penile pain, and urinary difficulty. Tumour-directed approaches, including surgery and RT, could be curative. Emerging therapies such as stereotactic body radiotherapy and PSMA-targeted radioligand therapy may improve outcomes for this rare and aggressive manifestation.

- Botulinum toxin a combined with penile traction therapy for the treatment of penile retraction: a retrospective single-arm pilot study. [Journal Article]
- This retrospective single-arm pilot study evaluated a novel minimally invasive approach combining Botulinum Toxin A injection with penile traction therapy for the treatment of penile retraction. This study was conducted in 168 men with retractile penis treated between October 2023 and June 2025. Flaccid penile length was measured in the standing position with the penis in a naturally dependent st…

- Peyronie's disease patients with pain: a post hoc analysis of the IMPRESS I/II studies. [Journal Article]Transl Androl Urol. 2026 Jul 31; 15(7):245.TA
- CONCLUSIONS: Men with PD who were treated with CCH experienced similar curvature improvements regardless of baseline pain status or disease duration among those who experienced any pain. Findings support the literature that demonstrate similar efficacy when treating men with active vs. stable disease, suggesting that ongoing pain is not a contraindication to CCH therapy.

- Safety and effectiveness of a modified technique for three-piece inflatable penile prosthesis implantation under local anesthesia with a minimal scrotal incision (Wang's incision) in the treatment of erectile dysfunction. [Journal Article]Transl Androl Urol. 2026 Jul 31; 15(7):248.TA
- CONCLUSIONS: The modified local anesthesia technique with Wang's incision is safe and effective for three-piece IPP implantation. It has several advantages, including minimal invasiveness, short operative time, rapid recovery, and improved cosmesis, making it particularly suitable for elderly patients or those with comorbidities who are unfit for general or spinal anesthesia.

- CONCLUSIONS: In this small retrospective series, ALA-PDT was associated with short-term clinical control and palliative benefit in older patients with extensive genital EMPD, while preserving genital anatomy without creating large surgical defects. These preliminary findings support further evaluation of optimized PDT-based conservative strategies for difficult-to-treat EMPD.

- Bilateral corpus cavernosum thrombosis revealing penile synovial sarcoma. [Case Reports]Urol Case Rep. 2026 Sep; 68:103562.UC
- Corpus cavernosum thrombosis is rare, and its association with penile malignancy is exceptionally uncommon. Although most penile cancers are squamous cell carcinomas, primary synovial sarcoma is exceedingly rare. We report a 36-year-old man with bilateral corpus cavernosum thrombosis and persistent perineal pain, managed conservatively for two years, during which imaging failed to identify a neop…

- Hair-related complications in a post-phalloplasty neourethra: A novel staged urethroplasty approach. [Case Reports]Urol Case Rep. 2026 Sep; 68:103550.UC
- A 35-year-old transgender man with history of gender-affirming phalloplasty with radial forearm flap followed by inflatable penile prosthesis (IPP) placement had recurrent urethral stones from hair growth. He presented with pain from his implant and voiding difficulty and was confirmed to have infected IPP. At the time of implant removal, a significant burden of stones and luminal hair were found…

- Active Peyronie's disease as an early antifibrotic treatment window: a translational review. [Review]Sex Med. 2026 Oct; 14(5):qfag068.SM
- CONCLUSIONS: Active/progressive PD is a defensible setting for early antifibrotic trials. PDE5 inhibitor/SERM therapy is among the best-developed mechanistic candidates, but remains investigational. Clinical adoption requires prospective, randomized, stage-defined studies with standardized curvature assessment, plaque imaging, erectile-function measurement, pain assessment, co-intervention documentation, adverse-event capture, and PD-specific patient-reported outcomes.

- A Rare Cause of Breast Pain in Primary Care: Mondor's Disease Diagnosed in a Family Medicine Clinic. [Case Reports]Cureus. 2026 Jul; 18(7):e112054.C
- Mondor's disease is a rare disease that presents as a superficial thrombophlebitis that most often occurs in breast tissue, but can also occur on the anterior chest wall, thoracoabdominal region, and even the penis. Mondor's disease generally presents as localized pain and a palpable cord-like structure. It is a benign and self-limiting disease that can be managed conservatively and typically res…

- Penile fracture coexisting with urethral injury is very rare. We present a 35-year-old businessman with complaints of penile pain and a popping sound during sexual intercourse. Examination revealed a deformed phallus consistent with eggplant deformity, blood at the tip of the meatus and suprapubic swelling. A diagnosis of penile fracture coexisting with urethral injury and acute urinary retention…

- Tamsulosin, a selective α1-adrenergic antagonist prescribed for benign prostatic hyperplasia and expulsion of ureteral stones, carries a rare risk of priapism. We present a 59-year-old male with hypogonadism, hypertension, and hyperlipidemia who developed painless priapism 72 hours after initiating tamsulosin for ureterolithiasis. Despite the atypical absence of pain, penile blood gas analysis co…

- The Impact of Penile Prosthesis Type on Early Postoperative Pain: A Prospective Comparative Study. [Journal Article]J Clin Med. 2026 Jul 16; 15(14).JC
- Background/Objectives: Postoperative pain is an important determinant of early recovery and patient experience after penile prosthesis implantation. Although malleable, two-piece inflatable, and three-piece inflatable penile prostheses differ substantially in their mechanical characteristics, data comparing postoperative pain profiles among these devices remain limited. This study aimed to evalua…
