- Nummular Keratitis Following Epidemic Keratoconjunctivitis: A Guide to Managing Subepithelial Infiltrates. [Journal Article]Cureus. 2026 Jun; 18(6):e110958.C
- CONCLUSIONS: This study highlights the importance of close monitoring of patients with acute infectious conjunctivitis until full resolution, enabling timely initiation of topical immunosuppressive therapy when indicated for nummular subepithelial infiltrates. Our study suggests that treatment and follow-up protocols, along with screening for other household contacts with conjunctivitis, can significantly reduce the severity and duration of EKC and help preserve final visual acuity after resolution.

- Clinical improvement of photophobia with galcanezumab in episodic and chronic migraine. [Journal Article]Front Neurol. 2026; 17:1792472.FN
- CONCLUSIONS: Galcanezumab was associated with clinically important reduction not only in migraine frequency, severity, disability, and psychological comorbidities, but also in ictal photophobia, highlighting its responsiveness to CGRP-targeted preventive therapy. These findings suggest that photophobia as a potentially modifiable outcome that warrants systematically evaluation in future studies, with larger cohorts and long-term follow-up.

- Clinical characteristics of perimenopausal migraine and its correlation to hormonal levels. [Journal Article]
- CONCLUSIONS: Perimenopause is associated with high-frequency, moderate to severe migraine headache. Lower Estradiol levels were correlated with high migraine severity scores (VAS and MIDAS). The frequency of perimenopausal symptoms is higher, whereas the Estradiol level is lower in migrainous compared to nonmigrainous women.

- Delayed-Onset Toxic Anterior Segment Syndrome Combined With Herpes Simplex Keratitis After Cataract Surgery. [Journal Article]J Craniofac Surg. 2026 Jun 16. [Online ahead of print]JC
- CONCLUSIONS: For delayed-onset anterior segment inflammation after cataract surgery, the possibility of coexisting multiple etiologies should be vigilant. Differential diagnosis from infectious endophthalmitis is the primary step. After excluding infection, careful combined antiviral and anti-inflammatory treatment can achieve a favorable prognosis.

- Alcohol consumption "fuels" dimethyl sulfate vapor poisoning: a case report of three patients. [Case Reports]AME Case Rep. 2026; 10:104.AC
- CONCLUSIONS: Alcohol consumption may worsen DMS poisoning and delay recovery. Clinicians should advise patients with known or suspected DMS exposure to avoid alcohol. This recommendation should be integrated into discharge instructions and occupational safety protocols. Further studies are needed to clarify the underlying mechanisms and to confirm this clinically relevant interaction.

- Dysautonomia and Postural Orthostatic Tachycardia Syndrome (POTS) in the ENT Clinic: Differentiating Orthostatic Dizziness From Vestibular Migraine and Persistent Postural-Perceptual Dizziness (PPPD). [Review]Cureus. 2026 May; 18(5):e108903.C
- One of the most common complaints in ENT clinics is dizziness. Although most cases are caused by vestibular neuritis and benign paroxysmal positional vertigo (BPPV), a significant number of patients experience non-vestibular dizziness. One non-vestibular cause is postural orthostatic tachycardia syndrome (POTS), which presents with symptoms similar to vestibular migraine (VM) and persistent postu…

- Recurrent Red Eye Misdiagnosed as Conjunctivitis: Ocular Rosacea With Corneal Neovascularization in a Young Patient. [Case Reports]Cureus. 2026 May; 18(5):e108670.C
- Chronic red eye is a prevalent presentation in both primary care and emergency settings. While most cases are self-limiting, recurrent or treatment-resistant episodes warrant systematic evaluation to exclude underlying chronic inflammatory conditions. We report the case of a 19-year-old female patient with a longstanding history of bilateral red eye associated with pain, photophobia, and epiphora…

- Acupuncture for acute treatment of migraine without aura: A randomized clinical trial. [Journal Article]Headache. 2026 Jun 09. [Online ahead of print]H
- CONCLUSIONS: The results of this study demonstrate that acupuncture can rapidly alleviate headache and accompanying symptoms in patients with acute migraine without aura attacks within 10 min, with the analgesic effect of the real acupuncture group being significantly superior to that of the sham acupuncture group. Future trials are needed to verify the reliability and generalizability of our findings.

- Interictal avoidance of sensory stimuli among individuals with migraine. [Journal Article]Headache. 2026 Jun 09. [Online ahead of print]H
- CONCLUSIONS: This study provides empirical evidence of interictal avoidance of light stimuli among those with migraine and suggests psychological variables play a role in avoidance that manifests outside of migraine attacks. These findings among young, non-treatment-seeking adults primarily with episodic migraine suggest that interictal behavioral avoidance manifests early in migraine progression. Further research exploring mechanisms and predictors of interictal avoidance, potential intervention targets, and manifestations in older adults and clinical samples is warranted.

- The role of prodromal symptoms in predicting headache onset: A longitudinal electronic momentary assessment study. [Journal Article]Headache. 2026 Jun 08. [Online ahead of print]H
- CONCLUSIONS: Cardinal (phonophobia, photophobia, and nausea) symptoms of migraine were all associated with higher odds of future head pain 24 h before head pain onset. Other neurologic and homeostatic symptoms also emerged as predictors for head pain. However, predictive performance was modest; therefore, these symptoms should not be considered stand-alone migraine predictors. Headache prediction was weaker when individuals anticipated a headache, suggesting that anticipation may influence symptom interpretation.

- Atypical Cause of Headache: A Potential Diagnostic Pitfall in Acute Medicine. [Case Reports]Cureus. 2026 May; 18(5):e108412.C
- Acute headache is a common clinical presentation with a broad differential diagnosis, ranging from benign to life-threatening conditions. Early recognition of atypical causes is essential, particularly when initial investigations are inconclusive. The etiology of acute headache can be broadly classified into primary and secondary causes. Primary headaches occur in the absence of identifiable stru…
