- Chylous Ascites: A Rare Initial Presentation of High-Grade Follicular Lymphoma. [Journal Article]Case Rep Oncol Med. 2026; 2026:5559043.CR
- CONCLUSIONS: This case highlights chylous ascites as a rare but important presenting feature of lymphoma. Its recognition should prompt early histopathologic evaluation and multidisciplinary management. In selected postoperative or frail patients, rituximab monotherapy can serve as an effective bridge to full chemotherapy, facilitating recovery and improving outcomes. Early diagnosis and targeted treatment remain essential to prevent complications from lymphatic loss and to optimize prognosis in lymphoma-associated chylous ascites.

- Acute erythrodermic psoriasis complicated by systemic capillary leak syndrome following secukinumab therapy: a case report. [Case Reports]Front Immunol. 2026; 17:1813490.FI
- A 66-year-old woman with a 6-month history of new-onset psoriasis after her first dose of COVID-19 vaccination recently progressed to acute erythroderma accompanied by fever and systemic inflammation. She was started on secukinumab for erythrodermic psoriasis (EP) after conventional therapies were contraindicated. On hospital day 6, her condition deteriorated with dyspnea, high fever, and edema. …

- Age and comorbidity in COVID-19 mortality: a retrospective cohort study using multivariable regression and interaction analyses. [Journal Article]BMC Infect Dis. 2026 May 05. [Online ahead of print]BI
- CONCLUSIONS: Advanced age, dyspnea, kidney disease, elevated blood glucose, and pulse rate are significant predictors of COVID-19 mortality. While multimorbidity may contribute to mortality risk, no strong evidence of interaction between age and comorbidity burden was observed. These findings highlight the importance of comprehensive risk stratification using multiple clinical factors in hospitalized COVID-19 patients.

- Decreased exercise-induced pulmonary capillary recruitment in pulmonary arterial hypertension. [Journal Article]Vascul Pharmacol. 2026 May 03; :107615. [Online ahead of print]VP
- The human lung normally accommodates exercise-induced cardiac output increases mainly via recruitment of non-concomitantly perfused pulmonary capillaries. Recruitment is detectable by measuring the first-pass transpulmonary metabolism of [3]H-benzoyl-Phe-Ala-Pro, providing an estimate of functional capillary surface area (FCSA). Pulmonary arterial hypertension (PAH) results from luminal narrowing…

- Prevalence and associated factors of dysphagia in chronic obstructive pulmonary disease patients: A systematic review and meta-analysis. [Review]Heart Lung. 2026 May 04; 79:102827. [Online ahead of print]HL
- CONCLUSIONS: The prevalence of dysphagia in COPD patients is 38.2%. Current evidence suggests that higher age, higher mMRC dyspnea grade, elevated CAT score, number of missing teeth≥6, malnutrition, smoking history, acute exacerbation stage, and comorbid gastroesophageal reflux are risk factors, while the use of non-invasive mechanical ventilation is associated with lower odds of dysphagia. Healthcare professionals should develop personalized interventions based on these associated factors to optimize disease management for COPD patients.

- CONCLUSIONS: This case illustrates a rare complication of blunt trauma leading to prosthetic conduit failure. It highlights the need for dynamic imaging and reinforces guideline-based counseling to avoid collision sports in those with valve-in-valve RV-PA conduits. Holistic approaches including shared decision-making regarding exercise prescription and regular reassessment is essential in managing exercise safely in patients with adult congenital heart disease.Trauma threatens anterior prosthetic valves, with timely dedicated imaging and personalized exercise prescription being essential.

- Eosinophilic esophagitis (EoE) is a chronic inflammatory disorder of the esophagus characterized by dysphagia and food impaction. Although uncommon, spontaneous esophageal perforation may occur, most frequently involving the distal esophagus and the gastroesophageal junction. These perforations are typically managed with surgical or endoscopic interventions. Early diagnosis and prompt initiation …

- Morphological Diversity and Diagnostic Evaluation of Thoracic Amyloidosis: Insights From a Tertiary Referral Center in Vietnam. [Journal Article]
- CONCLUSIONS: Thoracic amyloidosis presents with diverse and often overlapping radiological patterns. Isolated nodular lesions frequently exhibit spiculated margins, posing a diagnostic challenge. However, the high prevalence of calcification and the acceptable safety profile of EBB and TTNB facilitate definitive diagnosis. In endemic areas, early tissue diagnosis is essential to differentiate amyloidosis from tuberculosis and avoid inappropriate therapy.

- Trapped in the Trabeculae: A Rare Case of Noncompaction Cardiomyopathy and Large Left Ventricular Thrombus. [Case Reports]Cureus. 2026 Apr; 18(4):e106359.C
- Left ventricular noncompaction (LVNC) is a rare primary cardiomyopathy characterized by a failure of myocardial morphogenesis, resulting in a prominent, characteristic "sponge-like" trabeculated endocardial layer. Clinical presentation is classical for heart failure, ventricular arrhythmias, and systemic thromboembolism, which defines its severity. Here, we describe a 34-year-old male with no pri…
