- Clinically Suspected Choroidal Lymphoma Arising from Indolent Nonprogressive Multifocal Choroidal Lesions: A Case Report and Literature Review. [Journal Article]Ocul Immunol Inflamm. 2026 Jul 07; :1-4. [Online ahead of print]OI
- CONCLUSIONS: Although INMCL is regarded as a benign nonprogressive choroidal lymphoid disease, this case suggests that some lesions may represent a possible evolution of choroidal lymphoma. Careful follow up and prompt consideration of radiotherapy in cases of progression and symptom onset may provide excellent anatomical and functional outcomes.

- Elucidating the mechanisms underlying rheumatic heart disease (RHD) accompanied by mitral annulus calcification (MAC) facilitates the identification of sensitive diagnostic biomarkers and the development of targeted therapeutic strategies. Proteomic analysis offers an approach to characterizing protein expression changes, thereby contributing to the clarification of pathogenesis in both RHD and c…

- SPI1 Promotes Intracranial Aneurysm Formation by Inhibiting Wnt5a Transcription. [Journal Article]Front Biosci (Landmark Ed). 2026 Jun 24; 31(6):49794.FB
- CONCLUSIONS: This study suggests that SPI1 promotes intracranial aneurysm formation by inhibiting Wnt5a transcription, thereby promoting activation of the canonical Wnt/β-catenin pathway and driving VSMC phenotypic switching toward a synthetic phenotype. In vivo, SPI1 knockdown alleviated vascular wall injury and inflammation. These findings indicate that the SPI1/Wnt5a signaling axis may represent a potential therapeutic target for intracranial aneurysms.

- Unmasking Mixed Endometrial Carcinoma: A Case Report of Diagnostic Complexity. [Journal Article]Ann Afr Med. 2026 Jul 07. [Online ahead of print]AA
- Mixed endometrial carcinoma (MEC) is a rare entity, representing only a small fraction of endometrial cancers. It is characterized by the presence of two or more distinct histological patterns, with at least one being a high-grade type such as serous or clear cell carcinoma. We present a 61-year-old postmenopausal woman who presented with abnormal uterine bleeding, intermittent lower abdominal pa…

- Anorectal fibrosis in 3 murine models of chronic intestinal fibrosis: a comparative analysis. [Journal Article]Inflamm Bowel Dis. 2026 Jul 07. [Online ahead of print]IB
- CONCLUSIONS: Under these standard protocols, the chronic cyclic DSS model produced the most prominent anorectal fibrotic remodeling, while TNBS and DNBS showed less severe anorectal changes despite comparable colonic fibrosis. These protocol-dependent differences may inform preclinical investigation of anorectal fibrosis and evaluation of anti-fibrotic therapeutic strategies.

- Longitudinal ultrasonographic assessment of external vessel preservation by drug-coated balloon in juxta-anastomotic AVF stenosis. [Journal Article]J Vasc Access. 2026 Jul 06; :11297298261462369. [Online ahead of print]JV
- CONCLUSIONS: DCB provided improved clinical outcomes in juxta-anastomotic stenosis. These findings suggest that improved outcomes after DCB may be associated with preservation of external vessel architecture and mitigation of constrictive remodeling, potentially supported by IMT suppression, rather than a predominant inhibitory effect on wall thickening. This suggests a site-specific mechanism of DCB action in the hemodynamically stressed juxta-anastomotic segment.

- 22q11.2 duplication syndrome and LZTR1-related Noonan syndrome type 10 overlapping phenotypes in a dual diagnosis - fetal hydrops: a case report. [Journal Article]BMC Pregnancy Childbirth. 2026 Jul 06. [Online ahead of print]BP
- CONCLUSIONS: This study revealed that fetuses carrying both a pathogenic copy number variant of duplication in the 22q11.2 region and a heterozygous pathogenic missense variant of the LZTR1 gene (c.848G > A) simultaneously constitute the main genetic basis for its multisystem abnormalities and severe hydrops. This study highlights the role of multiple genetic superimposition effects in the formation of complex fetal phenotypes and emphasizes that in genetic counseling and prenatal diagnosis, a combined strategy of CMA and Trio-WES should be adopted to improve the detection rate of complex genetic diseases and the accuracy of recurrence risk assessment.

- Left-sided congestive heart failure was diagnosed in a 2.6-kg 13-year-old neutered male Yorkshire terrier by compatible clinical signs and findings on thoracic radiographs. Echocardiography revealed left atrium enlargement, left ventricular concentric hypertrophy, and thickening and stenosis of the mitral and aortic valves (AVs). - Spatial mapping of nasal polyp distribution in an ovalbumin and Staphylococcal enterotoxin B-induced murine model of chronic rhinosinusitis. [Journal Article]Clin Exp Otorhinolaryngol. 2026 Jul 06. [Online ahead of print]CE
- CONCLUSIONS: : Application of a five-level coronal anatomical framework enabled systematic spatial mapping of NPs within the murine CRSwNP model. This approach identified preferential localization of polypoid lesions to the mid-to-posterior nasal cavity and provides a structured method for regional anatomical assessment in future studies of murine NPs.

- Secondary cell wall thickening is essential for plant structural development, providing the mechanical strength and rigidity required for upright growth. However, direct observation of this process in its endogenous developmental context within living plants has remained limited. Cellulose, the predominant component of secondary walls and the most abundant biopolymer on Earth, is synthesized at t…

- Julus bengeli sp. nov. is described and illustrated from the Russian Altais, southwestern Siberia, Asian Russia. The new species shows a strong sexual dimorphism in the gnathochilarium in males, viz. a distinct projection located parabasally on the gnathochilarial stipes, apically carrying a circular bundle of 15-17 elongated papillae/trichomes. Julus bengeli sp. nov. seems to be especially close…

- Toward a multidisciplinary perspective: Are dental-origin pathologies overlooked in unilateral chronic rhinosinusitis? [Journal Article]Auris Nasus Larynx. 2026 Jul 06; 53(4):612-616. [Online ahead of print]AN
- CONCLUSIONS: Dental-origin pathologies and related anatomical variants appear to be encountered in patients with unilateral chronic rhinosinusitis. These findings suggest a possible association between odontogenic findings and unilateral sinus disease with or without nasal polyposis. A comprehensive dental evaluation and detailed radiological assessment should be considered as part of the preoperative workup. Furthermore, the observed coexistence of unilateral polyposis and odontogenic findings warrants further investigation to clarify the nature of this association.
