  • [Tympanic membrane perforation]. [Journal Article]
    Ugeskr Laeger. 2026 Jun 08; 188(24).Zoorob S, Toft-Nielsen C, Lyneborg NUL
  • Tympanic membrane perforation is a common condition with varying aetiology and clinical presentation. In this review, diagnosis, prognosis and management are outlined. Many perforations heal spontaneously, especially small traumatic ones without infection, while others may cause hearing loss and recurrent otorrhoea. Prognosis depends on size, aetiology and infection. Surgical treatment may be con…
  • Community Resources for Older Adults With Age-Related Disabilities and Chronic Conditions: A Scoping Review. [Journal Article]
    Res Aging. 2026 Jun 11; :1640275261458993. [Online ahead of print]Shin O, Park S, … Kim BRA
  • Community resources are essential for supporting older adults with disabilities and chronic conditions, yet how these resources are conceptualized and evaluated across the empirical literature remains unclear. This scoping review synthesizes U.S.-based research on community resources for older adults with age-related disabilities and chronic conditions, guided by the PAGER framework. Following PR…
  • Christian and Indian religions on palliative sedation: a scoping study. [Journal Article]
Ann Palliat Med. 2026 May; 15(3):47.De Weyer N, Lambaerts J, Broeckaert BAP
  • CONCLUSIONS: Religious traditions significantly influence views and practices concerning palliative sedation, shaping both professional and patient decisions in advanced disease care. The major Christian denominations permit palliative sedation with safeguards, while Indian religions generally recommend spiritual awareness at life's end but accept palliative sedation as an option. Recognizing these beliefs deepens understanding of diverse end-of-life values and enhances culturally and religiously sensitive care in palliative settings.
  • Radiofrequency ablation of C2-3 medial branches/third occipital nerve to treat cervicogenic headache. [Journal Article]
Ann Palliat Med. 2026 May; 15(3):40.Abd-Elsayed A, Ruprecht KK, … Ludwig JAP
  • Cervicogenic headache (CGH) is a secondary headache disorder arising from dysfunction of the C2-3 facet joint. First-line management options include conservative and multidisciplinary therapies including physical therapy, pharmacologic analgesic agents, and other noninvasive modalities. However, some patients experience persistent, refractory pain despite first-line management options. More invas…
  • Perimenopausal migraine: a narrative review. [Review]
    Climacteric. 2026 Jun 11; :1-9. [Online ahead of print]Kamourieh S, MacGregor EAC
  • Migraine is a highly prevalent primary headache disorder that disproportionately affects women owing to the effects of sex hormones, particularly estrogen. Hyperestrogenism during early perimenopause, coupled with anovulatory cycles, is associated with an increased frequency and severity of migraine attacks and an increased prevalence of perimenstrual migraine. The natural decline in estrogen lev…
  • Distinct Genetic Alterations Drive Cushing Disease Versus Silent Corticotroph Adenomas. [Journal Article]
    J Clin Endocrinol Metab. 2026 Jun 11. [Online ahead of print]Paes T, Zhang Q, … Abreu APJC
  • CONCLUSIONS: Corticotroph adenomas comprise distinct molecular subtypes. USP8/USP48-mutant CD represents a low-CNV, low-risk group, whereas tumors harboring TP53/ATRX/DAXX mutations exhibit high CNV and aggressive clinical behavior. CNV and mutation profiling may assist in postoperative risk stratification.
  • Development and in vivo evaluation of novel humanized CD19 CAR-T cells for advanced B cell malignancies. [Journal Article]
Front Immunol. 2026; 17:1798748.Andrade CO, Bezerra MRL, … Bonamino MHFI
  • CONCLUSIONS: Collectively, these results demonstrate that rational humanization and harmonization of anti-CD19 scFvs can preserve antitumor efficacy, while mitigating functional exhaustion. This work supports the H1 construct as a promising candidate for further clinical development and highlights a scalable, cost-effective strategy for advancing locally manufactured CAR-T therapies in resource-limited settings.
  • Bridging aging and colorectal cancer: synergistic roles of inflammaging and immunosenescence. [Review]
Front Immunol. 2026; 17:1792954.Zaongo SD, Yang Q, … Ouyang JFI
  • Colorectal cancer (CRC) is one of the most commonly occurring malignancies worldwide, with incidence and mortality rising sharply in older adults. While aging is increasingly recognized as a key risk factor for CRC, the fundamental immunological mechanisms which underlie this risk remain incompletely understood. Two interconnected processes, namely inflammaging and immunosenescence, appear centra…
