  • Rethinking interleukin-31: A neuroimmune orchestrator of itch beyond Th2 immunity. [Review]
Allergol Int. 2026 May 05. [Online ahead of print]Irie H, Kabashima KAI
  • Interleukin (IL)-31 has emerged as a pivotal mediator of pruritus. Since its initial identification, substantial progress has been made in elucidating the role of IL-31 in itch pathophysiology, particularly its direct effects on peripheral sensory neurons. Elevated IL-31 expression has been documented in a wide range of pruritic skin diseases, including atopic dermatitis, prurigo nodularis, and s…
  • Emerging roles of lipocalin-2-mediated neuroimmune interactions in chronic pain and itch. [Review]
    Front Pharmacol. 2026; 17:1799602.Sun S, Lin J, … Kang PFP
  • Neuroimmune interactions serve as a core regulatory node of chronic pain and pruritus and a key target for clinical intervention. Lipocalin-2 (LCN2), a member of the lipocalin superfamily, is a multifunctional protein widely expressed in various tissues and cells. LCN2 exerts diverse biological effects by regulating iron metabolism, mediating inflammatory responses, and participating in signal tr…
  • Simultaneous TFAM and TJP2 Variants in a Child With Cirrhosis and Hepatocellular Carcinoma. [Journal Article]
    Pediatrics. 2026 May 05. [Online ahead of print]Yu J, Zhao H, … Lou JPed
  • Pediatric hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC), a rare and life-threatening malignancy that typically arises de novo, is strongly associated with underlying metabolic or genetic disorders. Its molecular pathogenesis remains poorly understood due to the limited number of well-documented cases. Herein, we present the case of an 11-year, 5-month-old boy who presented with incidentally detected cirrhosis, …
  • NUT Carcinoma of the Lacrimal Apparatus Presenting as a Rapidly Enlarging Medial Canthal Mass: A Case Report. [Journal Article]
Int J Surg Pathol. 2026 May 04; :10668969261439157. [Online ahead of print]Sharma PV, Lokhande HH, Vimal SIJ
  • IntroductionNUT carcinoma (NC) is a rare, aggressive squamous-lineage malignancy characterized by NUTM1 gene rearrangement and distinctive nuclear NUT expression by immunohistochemistry. Ocular adnexal involvement is exceptional.Patient presentationA 26-year-old woman presented with redness, pruritus, and a large nasal canthal mass obstructing vision in the left eye. Examination showed a 4 × 3 cm…
  • Risk factors for cutaneous immune-related adverse events: a systematic scoping review. [Systematic Review]
    Front Immunol. 2026; 17:1722781.Su Z, Zhang L, … Wang YFI
  • CONCLUSIONS: A variety of demographic, clinical, and biomarker-related factors contribute to the development of cirAEs. Characterizing these risk factors can address clinical needs for cirAE identification, while further mechanistic studies are needed to enhance management strategies. However, there is a limited amount of high-quality prospective evidence on these risk factors, and the quality of reporting on immunotherapy-related adverse events is inconsistent. Future research should focus on validating clinically valuable risk factors and interrogating mechanisms underlying cirAEs emergence.
  • Lymphangioma Circumscriptum of the Vulva: A Case Report. [Case Reports]
Cureus. 2026 Apr; 18(4):e106294.Haji Adan Mohamud IAC
  • Vulvar lymphangioma circumscriptum is a rare, benign lymphatic malformation that can mimic infectious or neoplastic lesions, often leading to delayed diagnoses. This report presents the case of a 48-year-old woman who presented with a 10-year history of wart-like lesions on the vulva, causing soreness, pruritus, and an impaired quality of life. Examination revealed multiple fluid-filled papules a…
