- An Unusual Presentation of Henoch-Schönlein Purpura With Penile Involvement in a 10-Year-Old Boy From Mexico. [Case Reports]
- Immunoglobulin A (IgA) vasculitis, also known as Henoch-Schönlein purpura, is the most common systemic vasculitis in childhood. It primarily affects the skin, joints, gastrointestinal tract, and kidneys. Extrarenal genitourinary manifestations are uncommon, and penile involvement is exceptionally rare, with very few cases documented worldwide and, to our knowledge, none previously reported in Mex…

- Anti-nuclear matrix protein 2 antibody-positive dermatomyositis associated with smouldering myeloma mimicking anti-melanoma differentiation-associated gene 5 antibody-positive dermatomyositis: A case of digital gangrene, palmar papules, and scrotal rash. [Case Reports]
- Dermatomyositis (DM) is an idiopathic inflammatory myopathy with characteristic cutaneous manifestations and systemic complications, including malignancy and interstitial lung disease (ILD). Myositis-specific autoantibodies (MSAs) define distinct disease subtypes, but significant clinical heterogeneity can still occur. Here, we report a unique case of smouldering myeloma-associated anti-nuclear m…

- Characteristics of scrotal involvement in IgA vasculitis: Relationship with disease activity and inflammatory markers. [Journal Article]
- CONCLUSIONS: Widespread purpura, local edema, penile involvement and hematuria are more common in patients with scrotal involvement than those without. PVAS and some systemic inflammatory markers such as CAR may be helpful in predicting scrotal involvement.

- Scrotal and penile edema in a patient with incomplete kawasaki disease: a case report and brief literature review. [Case Reports]
- CONCLUSIONS: This is a unique case of penile edema in KD which to our knowledge has not been previously reported in literature. An understanding of genitourinary symptoms in Kawasaki disease can help timely diagnosis and treatment of the disease.

- A rare incidence of severe dermatological toxicities triggered by concomitant administration of all-trans retinoic acid and triazole antifungal in patients with acute promyelocytic leukemia: a case series and review of the literature. [Case Reports]
- CONCLUSIONS: By highlighting this crucial pharmacokinetic interaction, we want to caution the fellow oncologists to be mindful of the inhibitory effect of triazole antifungals on CYP450. We propose using a non-myelosuppressive combination of ATRA and arsenic trioxide for management of APL hence, obliterating the need of prophylactic antifungals. However, in the event of invasive fungal infection (IFI), we suggest using alternative class of antifungals.

- Tucking Practices and Attributed Health Effects in Transfeminine Individuals. [Journal Article]
- Tucking is the gender-affirming practice of putting the penis and scrotum between the buttocks and moving the testes up into the inguinal canals. Our study explores tucking and health effects among transfeminine adults (n=79). Most (74.7%) had practiced tucking and among them, 67.2% had tucked ≥7 years. When tucking, the majority (84.5%) tucked daily and almost half (44.8%) ≥17 h/day. Half (50.0%…

- Atypical presentation of mpox in Irrua environs: a case report. [Case Reports]
- CONCLUSIONS: Atypical presentations of mpox, as managed in Irrua before the global surge, emphasize the varied spectrum of presentations (typical and atypical) in Nigeria. Therefore, there is a need for a higher index of suspicion for the uncommon presentations which will strengthen case recognition, case management, and community-based interventions as well as surveillance in the prevention and control of mpox in Irrua, its environs, Nigeria, and the world.
