- Sexual well-being before and after childbirth: a prospective longitudinal study using the Female Sexual Function Index. [Journal Article]Am J Obstet Gynecol MFM. 2026 Jun 12; :102023. [Online ahead of print]AJ
- CONCLUSIONS: Female sexual well-being declines after childbirth among sexually active women, with mode of delivery and perineal trauma influencing postpartum outcomes. Arousal represents a key determinant of overall sexual function postpartum. These findings highlight the multifactorial nature of postpartum sexual health and the limitations of current assessment tools, particularly in sexually inactive women, underscoring the need for pregnancy-specific, multidimensional instruments.

- Effect of different long-acting reversible contraceptive methods on female sexual function: a retrospective cohort study. [Journal Article]BMC Womens Health. 2026 Jun 12. [Online ahead of print]BW
- CONCLUSIONS: This study reveals that the LNG-IUS was associated with the poorest sexual function outcomes and a higher risk of FSD. Given the differences observed across various dimensions, clinicians can provide more personalized counseling when recommending contraceptive options. Additionally, dynamic follow-up for women using LARC is crucial, particularly within the first three months after insertion.

- CONCLUSIONS: HS significantly impairs quality of life, particularly with increasing disease severity and involvement of specific anatomical regions. HS is associated with impaired sexual function in both women and men, with a more pronounced and multifaceted impact observed in female patients. Effective pain and inflammation control may improve sexual outcomes, underscoring the importance of comprehensive, domain-specific assessment in HS management.

- Prevalence of Pelvic Floor Dysfunction Symptoms in Female Marathon Runners: A Cross-Sectional Study of the Santiago Marathon, Chile. [Journal Article]
- CONCLUSIONS: Pelvic floor dysfunction symptoms are common among female marathon runners. While age and parity appear to be key associated factors, race distance was not associated with symptom prevalence. These results reinforce the multifactorial nature of pelvic floor dysfunction in physically active women. A substantial gap between symptom awareness and utilization of pelvic floor physiotherapy was identified, highlighting the need for improved access to care. Early screening and preventive strategies should be considered regardless of competition distance.
