- Characterization and Identification of Potential Allergenic Proteins in Sophora japonica L. Pollen. [Journal Article]J Proteome Res. 2026 Jun 15. [Online ahead of print]JP
- Sophora japonica L. pollen (SJP) is an emerging cause of urban seasonal allergies such as asthma and rhinitis. This study systematically evaluated the allergenicity of SJP using both in vivo and in vitro experiments. In vivo, a mouse model was employed in which SJP induced typical allergic symptoms, including sneezing and rubbing behavior, elevated serum IgE and IL-4 levels, and reduced IFN-γ lev…

- Efficacy and safety of Xiangju capsules for allergic rhinitis: a systematic review and meta-analysis of randomized controlled trials. [Systematic Review]Front Pharmacol. 2026; 17:1788708.FP
- CONCLUSIONS: XJ capsules may offer additional benefits for AR symptoms and immunological markers, and were generally well tolerated in the included trials. However, given the limited certainty of the evidence, further high-quality studies are needed to confirm these findings.

- The Role of Ethyl Acetate Fraction from Phyllanthus amarus in Down-Regulation of Allergic Inflammatory Responses. [Journal Article]Molecules. 2026 May 24; 31(11).M
- This study aimed to investigate the anti-allergic potential of the ethyl acetate fraction (EtOAc) from Phyllanthus amarus using an ovalbumin (OVA)-induced allergic mouse model and in vitro RBL-2H3 mast cell assays. The EtOAc fraction was characterized by high total phenolic and flavonoid contents, reaching 261 ± 18 mg GAE/g EtOAc fraction and 86 ± 7 mg QE/g EtOAc fraction, respectively. It was fo…

- Spatiotemporal prediction of sneeze pollutants in enclosed spaces: a CNN-LSTM approach validated by field measurements and CFD-Robotics arm twin system. [Journal Article]Front Robot AI. 2026; 13:1846010.FR
- Densely populated enclosed environments, characterized by complex thermal stratification and overlapping breathing zones, represent high-risk clusters for the airborne transmission of respiratory pathogens. To address the dual challenges of physical boundary fidelity and prohibitive computational latency in traditional solvers, this study proposes a physics-validated, data-driven framework for th…

- Baseline Characteristics of Patients with Asthma Initiating Dupilumab in a Real-World Setting: The REVEAL Registry. [Journal Article]Adv Ther. 2026 Jun 10. [Online ahead of print]AT
- CONCLUSIONS: Patients prescribed dupilumab in routine clinical practice were predominantly adult women with severe asthma. Frequent severe exacerbations, high prevalence of coexisting type 2 inflammatory conditions, and elevated type 2 inflammatory biomarkers suggest disease burden is high among patients initiating dupilumab for asthma.

- Butyrylated Starch Attenuates Antibiotic-Exacerbated Allergic Rhinitis by Restoring the Gut Microbiota and Barrier Function in Mice. [Journal Article]Food Sci Nutr. 2026 Jun; 14(6):e72000.FS
- Allergic rhinitis (AR) is often exacerbated by antibiotic-induced gut dysbiosis. This study investigated whether butyrylated starch (BS) could mitigate vancomycin (VAN)-induced AR aggravation by restoring gut homeostasis. In a murine AR model (n = 5 per group), VAN administration significantly depleted the abundance of butyrate-producing bacteria (e.g., Clostridia and Lachnospiraceae), suppressed…

- Effects of curcuminoids on allergic rhinitis diseases: a systematic review and meta-analysis of animal and human studies. [Journal Article]Syst Rev. 2026 Jun 09. [Online ahead of print]SR
- CONCLUSIONS: Curcuminoids showed beneficial effects in animal models of allergic rhinitis, while current human evidence is limited and inconclusive. Further well-designed clinical trials are needed to clarify their therapeutic potential in humans.

- Baseline Demographics and Topographic Features in Keratoconic Eyes With Hydrops After Ipsilateral Prior Corneal Cross-linking. [Journal Article]J Refract Surg. 2026 Jun; 42(6):e549-e556.JR
- CONCLUSIONS: The occurrence of hydrops after CXL is rare. Eye rubbing associated with allergic conditions is the specific predisposition. A clinically noteworthy feature was a reduction in pachymetry in eyes that developed hydrops. Due to the rarity of hydrops following prior CXL, reporting this event and reviewing the clinical and topographic features may enhance understanding in future studies.

- Incorporating Euglena gracilis into the habitual diet modulates immune function and reduces common cold-like symptoms: a randomized controlled trial. [Journal Article]Nutr J. 2026 Jun 09. [Online ahead of print]NJ
- CONCLUSIONS: These findings suggest that daily consumption of E. gracilis may support immune function and be associated with a reduced incidence of common cold-like symptoms. The intervention was well tolerated, with no adverse events reported and no clinically meaningful changes in hematological or urinalysis parameters. These findings support the potential of E. gracilis consumption as a viable dietary strategy.

- Atypical Cause of Headache: A Potential Diagnostic Pitfall in Acute Medicine. [Case Reports]Cureus. 2026 May; 18(5):e108412.C
- Acute headache is a common clinical presentation with a broad differential diagnosis, ranging from benign to life-threatening conditions. Early recognition of atypical causes is essential, particularly when initial investigations are inconclusive. The etiology of acute headache can be broadly classified into primary and secondary causes. Primary headaches occur in the absence of identifiable stru…

- Advances in the management of allergic rhinitis: clinical relevance of the mometasone furoate-olopatadine association and the challenge of patient self-diagnosis and self-treatment. [Review]Drugs Context. 2026; 15.DC
- Allergic rhinitis is a highly prevalent inflammatory disease that significantly impairs sleep, daily functioning and quality of life, with symptoms increasingly amplified by environmental changes such as prolonged pollen seasons and urban pollution. Despite effective therapies, many patients remain poorly controlled due to delayed diagnosis, inappropriate self-selection of over-the-counter medica…

- A 10-year-old cat presented with a 2-year history of nasal discharge, sneezing, and nasal planum swelling. Granulomatous rhinitis caused by Prototheca wickerhamii infection was diagnosed on the basis of histopathological and genotypic analyses of biopsy samples. Oral voriconazole was administered; however, it caused adverse effects and was discontinued. The lesion, initially localized to the nasa…
