  • Multipronged management of chronic non-healing venous leg ulcers using advanced wound dressings and patient-centered care: a case report. [Journal Article]
J Med Case Rep. 2026 May 05. [Online ahead of print]Kandar DK, Killi K, Chakrabarti DJM
  • CONCLUSIONS: This case demonstrates that a multipronged outpatient approach combining targeted antimicrobial therapy, bioactive collagen-nanosilver wound dressings, nutritional optimization, and patient and caregiver education can result in full healing of chronic, infected venous ulcers while reducing the need for inpatient care. It also raises the hypothesis that chronic systemic inflammation from long-standing ulcers may predispose to metabolic dysfunction. Further prospective studies are needed to explore this potential link and to evaluate the reproducibility and cost-effectiveness of such multidisciplinary interventions in chronic wound management.
  • Mechanism and control strategy design of a multi-position nursing bed for bedridden elderly care. [Journal Article]
    Proc Inst Mech Eng H. 2026 May 04; :9544119261441028. [Online ahead of print]Ren S, Zhou H, … Wang HPI
  • Nursing beds equipped with multi-position adjustment capabilities play a crucial role in preventing pressure ulcers and promoting blood circulation in bedridden patients. This study presents a multi-position nursing bed that integrates back-lifting, leg-bending, and lateral positioning functions, ensuring smooth and stable transitions between various care postures. The back-lifting and leg-bendin…
  • Determinant Factors of Self-Care Deficit in People With Chronic Wounds: A Scoping Review. [Review]
J Adv Nurs. 2026 Apr 30. [Online ahead of print]Dantas JS, Gomes YLM, … Freire MEMJA
  • CONCLUSIONS: The findings demonstrate the vulnerability of people living with chronic wounds, arising from the complex interaction of clinical, psychosocial, socioeconomic and health service-related factors that determine self-care deficits. These deficits compromise wound healing, prolong treatment and negatively affect quality of life, underscoring the need for person-centred approaches to care.
  • The natural history of paraquat-associated stomatitis: A four-stage model. [Review]
J Forensic Leg Med. 2026 Apr 24; 120:103161. [Online ahead of print]Thavarajah R, Mohandoss AAJF
  • CONCLUSIONS: PAS follows a predictable, time-dependent four-stage evolution-reflecting progressive mucosal and systemic toxicity. This structured model provides a reliable framework for diagnosis, prognostication, and forensic timing of paraquat exposure.
