  • To evaluate the safety and early functional outcomes of a urethral catheter-free protocol during extraperitoneal single-site robot-assisted radical prostatectomy (essRARP), enabled by suprapubic catheter (SPC) drainage placed through the existing incision, compared with urethral catheter (UC) drainage. We retrospectively analysed 217 consecutive men undergoing essRARP (June 2023-July 2025) at a s…

  • Bladder exstrophy (BE) is a rare, complex, congenital malformation predominantly observed in men. We report a case of a female infant with BE who underwent complete primary repair of BE (CPRE). After 5 weeks of appropriate medical care and nursing, the infant was discharged successfully without urinary retention, hematuria, fever, or abdominal distention. After discharge, the child was followed u…

  • Mycoplasma genitalium can cause urinary tract infections and nonchlamydial, nongonococcal urethritis. Recent studies have suggested that M. genitalium is associated with sexually transmitted diseases, particularly among men who have sex with men. Herein, we report a case of M. genitalium infection where treatment related changes in the endoscopic image of the rectum were documented. A 21-year-old…

  • CONCLUSIONS: The increase in H. parainfluenzae strains isolated in the urethra belonging to only one cluster is worrying. Moreover, the isolation of strains increasingly resistant to different groups of antimicrobials highlights the need for close monitoring of the evolution of resistance and the transmission of these resistant strains in the future. Larger studies should be planned to establish the epidemiological relevance of these difficult-to-treat MDR bacteria.
