- The association between the C-reactive protein-albumin-lymphocyte (CALLY) index and stress urinary incontinence in women: A population-based study. [Journal Article]Int J Gynaecol Obstet. 2026 Aug 18. [Online ahead of print]IJ
- CONCLUSIONS: Our findings suggest that an elevated CALLY index is a protective factor for SUI, whereas an elevated AISI represents a risk factor. The CALLY index exhibits greater stability compared with other inflammatory markers (SII, AISI), though prospective studies are warranted to validate these results.

- Comparison of lower urinary tract symptoms between incontinent males and females: An analysis of AUASS and its subdomains. [Journal Article]Urologia. 2026 Aug 18; :3915603261478152. [Online ahead of print]U
- CONCLUSIONS: This AUASS assessment reveals significant demographic variations in LUTS severity. Overall, urge incontinence was the strongest predictor of worse AUASS scores. Although female sex was independently associated with slightly lower AUASS scores, the magnitude of these differences was small and may not be clinically significant. Females reported worse QoL despite lower adjusted symptom scores, suggesting that factors beyond measured symptom severity may contribute to patient-perceived burden.

- Robot-Assisted Laparoscopic Transvesical Closure of a Vesicovaginal Fistula: First Report in a Teenage Girl. [Journal Article]European J Pediatr Surg Rep. 2026 Jan; 14(1):e42-e44.EJ
- Vesicovaginal fistula (VVF) is rare in children and is most commonly associated with retained vaginal foreign bodies. Surgical repair is technically demanding and carries a significant risk of recurrence, which has limited the application of minimally invasive approaches. We report the first pediatric case of robot-assisted laparoscopic transvesical repair of a VVF. A 14-year-old girl presented w…

- Knowledge and awareness of pelvic floor dysfunction among female medical students: A multicenter cross-sectional study. [Journal Article]Int J Gynaecol Obstet. 2026 Aug 18. [Online ahead of print]IJ
- CONCLUSIONS: Medical education substantially improves knowledge and awareness of PFD; however, knowledge of POP consistently lags behind that of UI, and theoretical knowledge does not reliably translate into health-protective behavior.

- CONCLUSIONS: In this multicenter real-world cohort, Aquablation/AquaBeam was safe and effective over 3 years, providing durable improvement in lower urinary tract symptoms and quality of life while preserving continence and antegrade ejaculation in most patients. These findings support Aquablation/AquaBeam as a valuable minimally invasive surgical option for selected men with BPH, particularly those who prioritize preservation of ejaculatory function. Longer-term and comparative studies are warranted.

- An Enhanced Nursing Programme Based on mp-MRI Assessment for Urinary Continence Recovery After Radical Prostatectomy. [Journal Article]Arch Esp Urol. 2026 Jul; 79(6):958-968.AE
- CONCLUSIONS: In this retrospective cohort study, an enhanced nursing programme based on mp-MRI assessment was associated with improved urinary continence recovery and urodynamic parameters in patients undergoing radical prostatectomy. However, these findings require confirmation in prospective randomised controlled trials.

- Outcomes of Multichannel Urodynamic Study-Guided Concomitant Burch Colposuspension During Abdominal Sacrocolpopexy: A Retrospective Cohort Study. [Journal Article]Arch Esp Urol. 2026 Jul; 79(6):922-929.AE
- CONCLUSIONS: When preoperative multichannel urodynamic study identified USUI, combining abdominal sacrocolpopexy with Burch colposuspension yielded favorable surgical outcomes. Although the provocative stress test with prolapse reduction may serve as a screening tool for predicting preoperative USUI in patients with severe apical pelvic organ prolapse undergoing abdominal sacrocolpopexy, it cannot yet be considered a substitute for multichannel urodynamic study.

- Full endoscopic decompression of ligamentum flavum cyst causing thoracic myelopathy: illustrative case. [Journal Article]J Neurosurg Case Lessons. 2026 Aug 17; 12(7).JN
- CONCLUSIONS: FESS is an emerging minimally invasive technique for neural decompression. Despite technical challenges in the thoracic spine, it offers advantages including improved visualization, reduced blood loss, and shorter hospital stay. FESS represents a promising treatment option for selected thoracic facet cysts and other compressive pathologies, although further studies are required to better define its role. https://thejns.org/doi/10.3171/CASE26441.

- Common Male Genitourinary Issues: Benign Prostatic Hyperplasia and Overactive Bladder. [Review]FP Essent. 2026 Aug; 567:14-22.FE
- Lower urinary tract symptoms that significantly impair quality of life in men may result from benign prostatic hyperplasia, overactive bladder, or a combination of both conditions. The diagnosis of benign prostatic hyperplasia, a voiding dysfunction due to outlet obstruction, can be made with a thorough history and physical examination. A validated questionnaire should be used to make an accurate…

- Male genital lichen sclerosus (MGLSc) is a chronic inflammatory dermatosis that may lead to phimosis, urethral disease, sexual dysfunction and penile squamous cell carcinoma (PeSCC). Although its aetiology remains incompletely understood, clinical and epidemiological observations increasingly support a central role for chronic occluded exposure of susceptible epithelium to urine. The distribution…
