- Coital urinary incontinence: management and support for patients. [Review]Br J Nurs. 2026 Jun 18; 35(12):622-624.BJ
- Coital urinary incontinence (CUI), defined as involuntary urine leakage during or after sexual activity, is a common yet underreported condition affecting both women and men, with significant effects on emotional wellbeing, sexual satisfaction and intimate relationships. This article reviews the evidence on the prevalence, pathophysiology and management of CUI in women and men, and outlines key c…

- A Study on the Spectrum of Autonomic Dysfunction in Primary Central Nervous System Demyelinating Disorders in a Tertiary Care Center from Eastern India. [Journal Article]Ann Indian Acad Neurol. 2026 May 01; 29(3):392-398.AI
- CONCLUSIONS: Autonomic dysfunction is highly prevalent in CNS demyelination, with urinary and sexual dysfunction particularly burdensome in NMOSD and LETM. Parasympathetic dysfunction predominated in MS, whereas sympathetic impairment was equivocally evident in MS and NMOSD. Comprehensive screening of autonomic domains should be integrated into routine care.

- Comfort Theory-Based Nursing Interventions in Women with Stress Urinary Incontinence: Randomized Controlled Trial. [Journal Article]
- CONCLUSIONS: Comfort Theory-based nursing interventions incorporating yoga, breathing and meditation decreased incontinence severity and improved quality of life and comfort among women with SUI. This holistic, low-cost approach provides a sustainable strategy for UI management.

- Technique for Implantable Tibial Nerve Stimulator Placement. [Journal Article]
- CONCLUSIONS: The subfascial iTNM is a permanent solution to office-based percutaneous tibial nerve stimulation. It offers patients an evidence-based therapy with the flexibility of at-home stimulation sessions using an external wearable battery. This video highlights the subfascial stimulator device system and educates surgeons on its placement and perioperative management.

- Fractional CO2 Laser Treatment for Female Stress Urinary Incontinence: A Prospective Study. [Journal Article]Int Urogynecol J. 2026 Jun 16. [Online ahead of print]IU
- CONCLUSIONS: Fractional CO2 laser treatment alleviates symptoms and enhances pelvic floor function in women with SUI, with effectiveness linked to initial disease severity. Significant improvements were seen only in severe cases, while mild-to-moderate cases showed only statistical changes. Personalized management is advised, and combined therapy should be considered for moderate-to-severe cases to maximize benefits.

- The impact of the vaginal birth after cesarean as a new delivery mode on quality of life, sexual function, sleep quality and urinary incontinence during the postpartum period and comparison with the results of vaginal birth and cesarean delivery. [Journal Article]Int J Gynaecol Obstet. 2026 Jun 16. [Online ahead of print]IJ
- CONCLUSIONS: Our findings suggest that while sleep quality and urinary incontinence symptoms did not significantly differ among the delivery groups, PP-QoL and FSFI scores were higher in the VBAC group than in the VB and CD groups.

- A Novel Template for Intravesical Botulinum Toxin Injection in Patients With Idiopathic Overactive Bladder: A Cohort Study. [Journal Article]Neurourol Urodyn. 2026 Jun 16. [Online ahead of print]NU
- CONCLUSIONS: The 10-point injection template for botulinum toxin administration, which includes two trigonal sites, demonstrated greater effectiveness than the traditional template in improving symptoms of urgency, frequency, and incontinence. Although mild adverse events were observed, there were no significant differences between the two groups, and the overall incidence was lower than that reported in the literature. The new 10-point template represents an innovative, effective, safe, and practical alternative for intravesical botulinum toxin administration in patients with overactive bladder refractory to oral therapy.

- Weight Loss Intentionality and Strategies in Urinary Incontinence. [Journal Article]Neurourol Urodyn. 2026 Jun 16. [Online ahead of print]NU
- CONCLUSIONS: Intentional weight loss was associated with lower likelihood of frequent UI symptoms compared to unintentional weight loss. Exercise was the intervention associated with the lowest severity of SUI, UUI, and MUI in both males and females. Our findings are consistent with current recommendations for active behavioral modification for UI weight loss. Additional prospective comparative analysis of exercise and other weight loss strategies is warranted.

- Improved Pelvic Support and Urinary Symptoms Following Apical Mesh Reinforcement with a Partially Absorbable Lightweight Polypropylene Mini Mesh for Advanced Pelvic Organ Prolapse. [Journal Article]Isr Med Assoc J. 2026 Jan; 28(1):34-39.IM
- CONCLUSIONS: Transvaginal repair with the Seratom PA MR MN® partially absorbable mini mesh demonstrated significant improvements in anatomical and subjective outcomes, with few complications, and low recurrence rates. Further studies are necessary to validate these outcomes and optimize patient selection.
- Network-informed multi-trait genomic analysis decodes the shared genetic architecture and therapeutic landscape of pelvic floor disorders. [Journal Article]NPJ Aging. 2026 Jun 15. [Online ahead of print]NA
- Pelvic floor disorders, including pelvic organ prolapse and urinary incontinence, represent a common health burden with substantial clinical comorbidity, but their shared genetic architecture remains incompletely understood. We performed a multi-trait genomic analysis of six pelvic-floor-related phenotypes using publicly available GWAS summary statistics from FinnGen R12 and the GWAS Catalog, wit…

- The effectiveness of a video-modeling-based treatment package for incontinence in children with and without developmental disabilities. [Journal Article]Res Dev Disabil. 2026 Jun 15; 175:105330. [Online ahead of print]RD
- CONCLUSIONS: A video-modeling based intervention may be effective in reducing episodes of urinary and/or fecal incontinence in children and may simultaneously promote greater independence by increasing independent toileting skills. Therefore, when standard interventions are not sufficient, video modeling can be a useful and effective component of specific urotherapy that can be provided in an outpatient setting.

- Preliminary clinical association between the Nerve-Sparing Quality (NSQ) Score and early functional outcomes after robot-assisted radical prostatectomy. [Journal Article]Folia Med Cracov. 2026 Mar 31; 66(1):145-153.FM
- CONCLUSIONS: Higher NSQ Score was associated with improved early functional outcomes after RARP, particularly regarding erectile function and postoperative pad use. These findings provide preliminary clinical support for the construct validity of the NSQ Score as a structured intraoperative measure of nerve-sparing quality. Larger prospective studies incorporating baseline functional parameters are required to determine the independent predictive value of the NSQ Score.
