- Post-extracorporeal Membrane Oxygenation (ECMO) Bilateral Urolithiasis in an Adolescent With B-cell Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia (ALL): A Case Report. [Case Reports]Cureus. 2026 May; 18(5):e108489.C
- Acute kidney injury and metabolic derangements are common after extracorporeal membrane oxygenation (ECMO), yet their potential contribution to urinary stone formation is rarely described. Critically ill patients may develop lithogenic conditions related to tubular injury, oliguria, prolonged immobilization, catabolism, infection, and alterations in urinary solute handling. We report the case of …

- The status of health-related quality of life among older adults with overactive bladder: a cross-sectional analysis of the Yamagata Cohort Study in Japan. [Journal Article]
- CONCLUSIONS: OAB is prevalent among community-dwelling older Japanese adults and is associated with clinically meaningful HRQoL reductions. These findings suggest the importance of early detection and severity-based, symptom-specific management, particularly targeting urgency and incontinence (e.g., β3-stimulants, behavioral therapy).

- "Why children with anorectal malformations need urological evaluation: Insights from a retrospective study". [Journal Article]J Pediatr Urol. 2026 May 27; :106044. [Online ahead of print]JP
- CONCLUSIONS: LUTD constitutes a fundamental concern for the entire population of children with ARM, regardless of the height of malformation. Although patients with associated spinal anomalies face a disproportionately higher risk, the absence of such anomalies does not rule out the possibility of LUTD. These findings support the implementation of systematic and mandatory urological surveillance programs for all ARM patients to ensure early detection and intervention.

- Case Report: Successful rechallenge of cadonilimab-induced cystitis, adrenal insufficiency, and diabetic ketoacidosis in a patient with metastatic gastric-type endocervical adenocarcinoma. [Case Reports]Front Oncol. 2026; 16:1836563.FO
- CONCLUSIONS: This case highlights the rare but possible occurrence of sequential, multiorgan irAEs, including cystitis, AI, and DKA, following cadonilimab therapy. This case underscores the importance of multidisciplinary collaboration, vigilant monitoring, and individualized rechallenge decisions in managing complex irAEs. Importantly, it demonstrates that immunotherapy rechallenge can be feasible and provide sustained clinical benefit in selected patients with advanced GEA after resolution of severe irAEs.

- Urethral Morphology and Support Associated with Urinary Symptoms after Vaginal Surgery with and without Midurethral Sling. [Journal Article]medRxiv. 2026 May 20.M
- CONCLUSIONS: Urethral morphology and support differed with concomitant midurethral sling (vs no sling) and stress urinary incontinence after vaginal surgery. Urethral characteristics were also associated with postoperative urinary symptoms. Urethral configuration may influence urinary outcomes and could be considered during prolapse and stress urinary incontinence repairs.

- Impact of non-motor symptoms on the quality of life of Parkinson's disease patients in a cohort of Senegalese patients. [Journal Article]BMC Neurol. 2026 Jun 03. [Online ahead of print]BN
- CONCLUSIONS: In our cohort, non-motor symptoms, particularly depression and cognitive impairment, were significantly associated with poorer quality of life. Although the confounding effect of motor symptoms was not fully assessed, motor severity, assessed by the Hoehn and Yahr stage, also contributed substantially.

- Unraveling the Knot: The Impact of Distal vs. Proximal Implantation Technique on Adjustable Transobturator Male Sling (ATOMS) Outcomes for the Treatment of Stress Urinary Incontinence. [Journal Article]Neurourol Urodyn. 2026 Jun 03. [Online ahead of print]NU
- CONCLUSIONS: The proximal technique offers good long-term continence outcomes, higher patient satisfaction, and fewer urgency symptoms while maintaining a comparable complication profile. Short- and long-term results seem superior to the classic method, though interpretation of long-term data is limited by unequal follow-up durations. Overall, our findings support the proximal approach as the preferred method for ATOMS implantation.

- Mirabegron and Intradetrusor Onabotulinumtoxina for Overactive Bladder in Parkinson's Disease: A Systematic Review and Meta-Analysis. [Review]Neurourol Urodyn. 2026 Jun 02. [Online ahead of print]NU
- CONCLUSIONS: Currently, no studies have directly compared the benefits of mirabegron versus BoNT-A. Available study data confirm that both mirabegron and BoNT-A were associated with directional reductions in several OAB symptoms in PD. However, urgency and most subgroup analyses did not reach statistical significance. The overall certainty of evidence was low to moderate due to small sample sizes, heterogeneity, and short follow-up. These findings are hypothesis-generating and should be confirmed in larger, randomized controlled trials with longer follow-up and ideally comparing effects head-to-head. - Persistent genital arousal disorder/genito-pelvic dysesthesia (PGAD/GPD) is a rare and distressing condition characterized by unwanted genital arousal without associated sexual desire. While cases of PGAD/GPD in association with interstitial cystitis, urethritis, urinary tract infection, and urethral diverticulum have been described, bladder cancer has not yet been reported. To our knowledge, the…

- Vesicovaginal reflux: a case report and literature overview. [Case Reports]Front Pediatr. 2026; 14:1849196.FP
- Vesicovaginal reflux (VVR) is a functional voiding disorder characterized by the retrograde flow of urine into the vagina during micturition, often presenting with daytime incontinence or postvoid dribbling. It is commonly underrecognized and may be mistaken for anatomical abnormalities such as vesicovaginal fistula or obstructive hydrocolpos, which require surgical intervention. We report a case…
