  • Imaging and Pitfalls of Early Postpartum Complications after Vaginal and Cesarean Section. [Review]
Semin Ultrasound CT MR. 2026 May 22. [Online ahead of print]Chung K, Menezes A, … Kochkine SSU
  • The postpartum period is associated with a wide spectrum of potential complications that may lead to significant maternal morbidity and mortality if not promptly diagnosed and treated. Clinical presentation is frequently nonspecific - including symptoms such as pelvic pain, fever, and vaginal bleeding - rendering imaging indispensable for differentiating normal postpartum changes from pathologic …
  • A rare presentation of Sheehan's syndrome with recurrent hypoglycemia: A case report. [Case Reports]
    Medicine (Baltimore). 2026 May 22; 105(21):e49008.Bam N, Pokhrel M, … Dhenga SM
  • CONCLUSIONS: This case highlights the prolonged latency between postpartum hemorrhage and presentation of Sheehan syndrome, with acute infection acting as a trigger for adrenal insufficiency. Clinicians should maintain high suspicion for Sheehan syndrome in women with a history of complicated delivery, lactation failure, amenorrhea, and chronic endocrine symptoms, even decades after the inciting event. Early recognition and prompt hormone replacement are lifesaving.
  • FIGO 2025 Gynecologic Cancers: An Ultrasound-Focused Imaging Update. [Review]

  • This paper presents a comprehensive cadaveric dissection atlas detailing the retroperitoneal anatomy essential to advanced pelvic surgery. Developed by a multidisciplinary team of anatomists, gynecologists, and gynecologic oncologists, the study provides a systematic, layer-by-layer guide for navigating the pelvic avascular spaces. It details five critical surgical corridors: the presacral (retro…
  • Conservative Methotrexate Management of Ovarian Ectopic Pregnancy in a Resource-Constrained Setting: A Rare Case Report. [Case Reports]
Int Med Case Rep J. 2026; 19:605583.Adawe MMM, Ibrahim FH, … Elmi AHIM
  • CONCLUSIONS: Ovarian ectopic pregnancy is a rare but important diagnosis in early pregnancy and may be difficult to distinguish from other adnexal lesions. In this patient, transvaginal ultrasound and serum β-hCG findings supported the diagnosis of presumed ovarian ectopic pregnancy. Conservative management with methotrexate was chosen because the patient was hemodynamically stable and could undergo close follow-up. Serial β-hCG monitoring and follow-up ultrasound demonstrated progressive regression and complete resolution without surgery. This case highlights that carefully selected patients may be managed successfully with fertility-preserving medical treatment, even in a resource-constrained setting.

  • Human papillomavirus (HPV) infection, cervical intraepithelial neoplasia (CIN), pelvic organ prolapse (POP), cervical polyps, abnormal uterine bleeding, and vaginitis are common gynecological disorders.
